I've been struggling to catch perch lately on my usual canal so I decided to head to one that I don't fish that much and commit to catching some! I usually only fish 1-2 hours when perch fishing but decided to stick at it today with a hope that I would get some caught!

You could also use twitchbaits for Perch.
Personally perch are my more preferred species to catch, they’re just easier to find and so much fun to catch

Have you ever used a bait retriever to get your lures back? I seen it advertised somewhere would be good if it worked I hate losing lures to snags!
Nice vid mate, it's allways nice, fishing on perch, here the closed season is coming in 2 days, this morning i caught a nice pike so my week is good, here you can fish with flies not bigger as a inch so i go fishing, or at carp or whatever! In the UK it's allowed to fish in the ditches isn't it? Regards mate 👍

what equipment do you use?
Try upsizing when you locate perch to target the bigger ones in the shoal. Seen it time and time again how that tactic have dilivered. Perch is very "small lures - small fish / bigger lures - bigger fish" kind of fishing.

Crazy fish is the make of the nano minnow.
Easily found on eBay.
Here in the UK AGM Lures are the place to get them from.
They are stockists for crazy fish they have a huge range of lures.

In the weekly days I caught few perch after work. Friday night was cold and wind blowing during this weekend. Whole things changed . Keep trying. The water temperature is 12°C so use slow retrieve and when you find spots with perch switch to dropshot or ned rig.
There aren’t really many perch waters near me

Why do you need a net? The fish does not even weight half kg just lift it up. Also nice video, I got this fish only 3 times in my life, Pikes tend to eat my bait and nothing else 😅
I use a net if its a bad hook hold or if its deep hooked and i cant see how deep. It just stops you from either tearing the mouth or causing damage from a deep hook. I usually dont bother with a net if they are small though.
