Loved this. I was the cinematographer and had a blast working on the film. We had a tiny crew and schedule, but I did my best with the resources and time. The budget was £20k, ending up around £50k after additional shoots.

Okay but can we talk about the fact that Peter pans Neverland nightmare could be a dope movie about the children trying to escape a crazed Captain Hook just to find out pan wants to keep them there forever instead of taking them home
You don't even need to go that far. The novel heavily implies that Pan straight up murders any Lost Boy that comes close to his age, Logan's Run-style. Being chased down by a crazed Pan seems like a much more disturbing concept.
If the studio has the vertebrae to put children in danger (and possibly even kill off some of them).

Speaking of intro, the opening animated scene for the movie was amazing! The whole concept of a Winnie the Pooh horror had amazing potential, but the movie just ended up being a generic slasher movie.
Not for me, it wasn't! Why Winnie the Pooh? He's a good boy who wouldn't hurt a fly! Plus, he's the size of a stuffy. How the hell did he become a bulky slasher?!?! Besides, the premise makes no sense. Disney already had a movie where Christopher Robin left the wood for a long time. The Pooh crew didn't become monsters. They just got depressed! ROT IN TARTURUS, MOVIE!!!!
I'm hopeful that, if the plans for a sequel are more than a pipe dream, they learn their lesson from how this was received, and possibly go further with it, as opposed to "quickly throwing together trash to capitalize on a fleeting trend."

My idea for what this movie should have been is:
A grown man obsessed with Winnie the Pooh as a kid turning into a serial killer pretending to be Winnie the Pooh. He can be a funny killer with witty dialogue
I can see that happening, especially just dropping quotes from Winnie the Pooh. First one that comes to mind is he gets blood everywhere and just says “oh bother”

I thought this was going to be one of two things. Either a schizophrenic kid having various imaginary friends and occasionally those friends would 'come out to play.' Kind of like Freddy. Fun Fact: The orignal script for this movie had stuck closer to the source material but the director were forced to make drastic changes in order to avoid legal trouble with Disney

Dead meat i love how you were able to carry us all with you towards all of your guys success and not let you get sloppy with it and how you have no hatebase cause youve been my favorite since 2018 and you have all been good people.
No, the most terrifying thing James has ever talked about is the fact that FAMILY has gotten calls from people wanting kill counts. That's just messed up.
I think it's shown a few times on this show, but regardless of James's thoughts of the movie, he still gives the filmmakers the credit they deserve, even if the movies he covered he doesn't like.
That's what makes the kill counts for movies he dislikes stay enjoyable for me. So many film channels go the route of "I have to shit on things people like to show why I'm smarter than everyone" and act like their opinion is actually objective fact. On the other hand, even with absolute garbage like Thankskilling 3, James goes more for "I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed". He always goes into a movie wanting to enjoy it and have a good time, rather than going in wanting to tear it down and dump on it.
The black christmas remake/reboot/whatever that was is a fantastic example, the way he handled both the very serious topics the movie is trying to tackle and how the film misses them with a constructive approach was so much more respectable than the low hanging fruit it could of been.

I love James and Chelsea coming out to directly address their support for the strike whilst protecting themselves and their contracts. Although, after the end of august, I am very excited to see the content on the horizon. I very much enjoy indie horror and think that it could be fantastic for the Dead Meat team to shed some light to projects that fly under the radar that shouldn’t.
A sort of bittersweet blessing in disguise.
I will say that if you choose to tackle analog horror at any point, I cannot express how much I recommend the Mandela Catalog by Alex Kister. The man is a true inspiration to the world of horror. As are you guys!
I wish it didn't take them a strike to review foreign films. There's a lot of really cool ones that deserve a spotlight!

When this came out, I wanted to go check it out with my friends because it looked like a fun movie we could all watch together. We never ended up seeing it and after watching this video, I’m super glad that we didn’t waste money and go watch it 😂

Well, Rhys Frake-Waterfield has some movies he's making and a sequel is one of them. The others are Bambi: The Reckoning, and Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare. That last one probably wouldn't be too far off from the kind of stuff we see in the book.
I actually think James covering alternative, foreign and Indie films sounds way better then what I expect his schedule originally was, which would encompass a bunch of big names and franchises. I think giving these lesser known movies exposure would be amazing, and there would absolutely be some diamonds he'd cover none of us even knew existed. Finally a perk to this strike.

@jakesascension4682 I've worked blue (hand hauling 400lb equipment all day, construction) and I've worked white (accounting, managing a store). White collar definitely worked me more, something I would have laughed at before working the white collar jobs.

Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey is a middle to the road Backwood-/Home Invasion Slasher with an interesting idea, some really cool looking camera shots which easily can be used as a desktop wallpaper, a creepy opener (cut the movie after the opening scene and there's a solid short film) and a shockingly good score.
But what hurts the movie were defently the lack of talent in front and behind the camera. No matter if it's the almost non existent acting, the amateur editing, the incredible stupid dialogues and an ending which left me speechless.

How to Beat made a good point about this movie. Christopher could’ve left the crossbreeds with a like Foraging system or a diguise to go into the cities and get their own food.

@@partyprinceyt7528 SAG is short for SAG-AFTRA, the actor's union, who are striking alongside the WGA (the writer's union) over their increasing exploitation by CEOs - 80% of all actors can't afford health care and a lot of writers have to take a second job to pay rent. Despite this, most studios besides A24 are refusing to concede to basic demands like promising to pay on time. Its fucked up and they deserve everything they're asking for, and I'm happy James and Chelsea agree!

OK, but hear me out... Horror Movies based on classic Hans Christen Anderson/Brothers Grimm stories. Can you imagine a horror version of Snow White where she has to escape from cannibalistic Dwarves? A horror version of Beauty and the Beast where Belle has goes to the castle to free her father, only to find that the Beast has eaten him and is now hunting her? A Little Mermaid horror movie where Ariel is so obsessed with Eric to the point where she starts killing women he finds attractive, or who try to court him?
There's DEFINITELY a market for this sort of thing. It just has to be done right.
I feel like a horror interpretation of Beauty and the Beast would be more like Nivellens story in The Witcher like only prince Adam gets cursed and kills the staff who later possesses inanimate objects while Morris accidentally opened the castle doors unleashing the beast which leads to the very thing Gaston said about the beast that “the beast will make off with you children. He’ll come after them in the night” while a horror interpretation of The Little Mermaid would be The Little Siren
