    357 sig is really underrated and over looked by alot of people. 357 sig ammo can cost alot but if you know where to look you can get 50rds for around the same price as some other calibers.

      The same goes for 10mm. Much of it is loaded for under 1100 FPS with a 180 gr. bullet. Sig and MagTech are at least medium loads. American Eagle is loaded to 1030 FPS. Winchester is loaded to 1080 FPS. That is according to the box, not a chrono in my back yard.

      I got a box of +p 357sig for $19.99 truth be told though, bulk buying .357sig is expensive. Really expensive. Lowest price I've found is $0.37/round and that's FMJ ammo. Hollow points get up around $0.88/round.

      @@jasonvoorhees2701 thank you!! 10mm is 💩 unless you’re loading your own. Just get +p .40 and get the same velocities, even better if used in a carbine pistol! My ar.40 pistol build showed around 1600 ftp on the chronograph using Fort Scott 125 gr! With Glock 21 460 Rowland conversion kits cheap, there’s definitely no need for a 10mm these days.

    Speed penetrates more. I’d be highly interested seeing these two calibers compete with similar rounds of Underwood Extreme Defender. These use a copper bullet that won’t expand. The Underwood Extreme Defender comes in 90 grain 357 sig round, and a 100 grain 10mm round. You may need to have up to 20 + inches of fiberglass boards to shoot into. These rounds penetrate very deep.

    The sig was moving faster by 100 feet per second. I would say if the 10 was the same speed it would cause much more damage. The whole was larger in the 10 which “may” equate to bleeding out more quickly. So if we went with a slightly lighter load for the 10 allowing it to move faster, the 10 would be the better round, in my honest opinion. I Love the 10 but the sig is right next to it !

    I've got a Glock 20 & 29. What I like about the two and their relationship to the 10mm and .357 SIG rounds is that they are both out of the same cartridge, the .40 caliber. The 10mm is a .40 cal in a longer cartridge for more powder and the .357 SIG is a 9mm in a necked down .40 cal cartridge. So, with the G-20/29/40, you've basically got 3 guns in one; the 10mm, the .40 cal, and the .357 SIG all in one. To go from one to the other, all that is necessary is a simple swapping out of the barrel. Everything else is compatible from the magazine up to the barrel.

    I've got a genuine SIG Sauer .357. Love it so far. I do need to point out that you fired the 10mm at the V and E on the sign. The 357sig was fired at the S and E. The 357 hit just a little bit harder and got just a tiny bit deeper. Nice display of penetration though. Should do like a tournament between the rounds. Do it in brackets. 357sig moves on while the 10mm is defeated in round 1.

    10mm is a great round, but you pretty much need a full sized handgun for it. 357 SIG is adaptable and available in many mid-sized guns. H&K USPc, SIG P229, SIG P239, M&P compact, etc.

  • @awnwise6257
    @awnwise6257 Před 4 lety +1

    The hole seemed bigger on the ten in the first two signs. They both stopped at the same point. With using a small grain 10 vs a much higher grain 357. Lets make sense of this and realize 10mm is definitely and better round. More damage even in lower grain. So this video is not a fair comparison. But both rounds are not to be taken lightly.

    The 357 Sig is without question the superior round. Even though on this specific test, the two rounds appear to have penetrated the target somewhat equally, the fact is, the 357 Sig fires with higher velocity, and a flatter trajectory. In other words, more accurate than the 10 mm.

    Every time someone ask me what's more important. Weight or speed? I always say a little bit of both. I think these 2 rounds teeter on both side of the balance scale and can't go wrong with either one. I really wish 357sig would have taken off more than it did. I remember when it was being developed I new it was going to be a bad mofo. unfortunately if its not picked up by a large portion of the police deportment or military it normally wont gain traction. 10mm ammo would probably be easier to find and few manufactures are offering firearms in 357sig.

    180 grain FMJ out of a 10 is really weak compared to what you can get out of the caliber with other ammo manufacturers aka Underwood, Buffalo Boar or Cor Bon. To me the 180 grain is only good for plinking and has a recoil similar to the .40. I wouldn’t choose it for self defense or hunting. So many better options.

Not so bad in the winter when the wind is blowing at 25 Kts and the temp is below zero. But during the summertime, it's much faster to refuel your own car. • @kd2quick

    Not really a close comparison, the 1/2" shorter barrel of the 10mm is loosing around 50fps as well as the added weight of the cartridge 180gr vs 125gr another 300fps, a total of around 350fps and that makes a big difference. If you could get both cartridges at around 155gr you would have a great comparison, but it was still worth watching thanks and keep shooting. God bless all free thinking Americans.
