- Doctor Who Review of Ncuti Gatwa's Season 1 Episode 1 with Russel T Davies. The BBC and Disney teamed up with this season of Doctor Who to release it first on Disney+ but has that improved Doctor Who with Ncuti Gatwa? Disney has always brought their values into TV shows and Doctor Who is no different. Has Russel T Davies saved Doctor Who or finished it? Is Doctor Who Season 1 worth watching?

Doctor Who Review of Season 1 with Ncuti Gatwa's Premiere for Disney+. The BBC and Disney teaming up to take on a part of British cultural heritage may sound like the story of a horror movie, but it turns out the reality is far worse. With 2 episodes being released on the same day you would expect Disney to come out with their best content, if they did, you'd never know. Space babies and the 2nd episode musical are a league above previous Doctor Who for all the wrong reasons. And While Ncuti Gatwa may be Ncuti Gatwa, he's not Doctor Who. You spend most of this episode wondering why you're getting lore dumped and the plot never makes sense, while the acting is just as abysmal. But what did you think of what you saw? Let me know your thoughts down below and as always, thanks for watching :)
"Best Doctor of the series" ... well it's series 1 again, right? So he's the ONLY Doctor of THIS series! (EDIT - and that's why I should wait till the end instead of pausing).
Also; uncanny valley on those babies 'talking'.
You wrote: "...teaming up to take on a part of British cultural heritage..."
I think you meant to write there: to take apart...
That space scene was shocking a middle schooler would walk out
Bro why you hate watching and giving them clout
i apologize for my previous optimism , it was unjustified. Doctor... Who? 🤔
The best part is the BBC blaming the “nice” weather for low viewership even tho the show released at night. They literally blamed people touching grass for the show bombing
😂😂😂
😂😂😂 the new half Dr did tell most people too 😂😂
My parents watched every previous episode from Christopher Eccleston through to the new David Tennant episodes on release. After watching Ncuti's first episode over Christmas, even they didn't watch this crap.
Yeah back when Matt Smith began I would be so eager to watch every single episode as it aired, it was a special thing, it made me so excited so it didn't matter what the weather or time was. I would set time aside to watch it!
.... I have not watched one single Jodie Withaker episode, and there's no way I'm going to watch any of these either.
I can't stand a person like this hating the country that saved him as a refugee instead of hating the people that made a refugee in the first place. If things are so horrible in white England, he can always go back to Rwanda.
It's lovely, I've seen pictures from it. It's beautiful and developed now with breath taking nature. He's no longer a refugee, he can go home -_-
Well there was a chance at seeing the Northern Lights again so I guess a solar-atmospheric event is more entertaining than New-New-Who.
The fact the GAY DOCTOR is the worst dressed Doctor in the whole series has to be some legit gay-crime. Like FR
Wow, as that includes Colin Baker's 6th Doctor.
I'm sure he or it ... got that top from the 20 cent bargin at good Sammy's
You're right, he is the worst dressed.
It’s even worse than the cricket uniform.
Apartently cutie picked out the outfits himself. Ud think a gay guy had better taste
Capaldi would have been perfect for this episode.
Baby: "did I grow up wrong?"
Capaldi Doctor: "you haven't grown up at all, you're a baby! Haven't you noticed? Everywhere I go, pudding brains!"
The really funny thing about this messaging is if you listen to this scene... I get what they were going for "you should accept everyone for who they are". But if you listen to it they are legit. If no one grows up wrong then trans people aren't in the wrong bodies therefore medical transitioning shouldn't be allowed? This is the problem with ideologies you can't stay logically consistent. But hey look at the the first gay, black, TERF Doctor.
even tho Capaldi had horrible episode themes.... he was sometimes brutaly honest sometimes dark and quite sarcastic and I loved it
@@hunteranubis Capaldi had some of the highest highs in the series and some of the lowest lows. Personally, there's still not a single episode that tops heaven sent for me. But I think Moffat spent too long as show runner then and the show became incredibly inconsistent because of it.
@@arrandonbavand heaven sent is UNREAL!!! I still think about that episode nearly 10 years later
So the message is that children who never grow up would be perfect and monsters that wants to prey on them are misunderstood and shouldn't be harmed. Curious...
Bet the monster’s name was either Jimmy or Jeffery, if you catch my drift. ;D
@@brockdavid no it’s the alphabet mafia grooming the kids in school
That actually sums up the whole LGBT…STFU movement perfectly
Well... that is... uh...

Strange how often this happens huh, wonder why that would be. They don't even try to hide it anymore.
Gatwa said "if you don't want to watch it go and touch grass"....i guess everyone did
Instructions unclear... jumped in a bush

what is worse is that they use stereotypes of what a gay man is while most gay men just act like normal people. how progressive of them

Doctor calling the babies "space-babies" fells like a Family Guy sketch parodying Dr. Who.
I can hear Lois saying:
- They are just babies and we are all on a space ship, Dr. Peter, there's no need to call them space-babies.
Peter, pressing his finger to Lois' lips:
- Shush, my lovely space-idiot. When you are space-wise and space-old as space-me, you'll space-understand... He-he-he-he-he...
Peter turns his face into the camera and laughs.
The camera angle changes to show that Peter stares into a wall and laughs.
Lois looks at Peter, then at the wall and rolls her eyes.
I'd have paid to watch that. It'd be a hell of a lot more entertaining to say the least.
Nah it feels like Doctor Who parodying Doctor Who. Season 9 - episode Sleep No More "No one adds space in front of words just to make it sound all high tech and futristicy, no-one says space restuarant, or space hat" etc
Hahaha,
Dr. Peter
- Take it from a timelord who fought in the Timewar in my timemachine, it's time people simplify things. The timeagency uses timelocks to combat timey-wimey issues of time, what's so hard to understand about that?
While all these people are terminal narcissists, I have never seen someone radiate narcissism to quite the extent that Gatwa does.
Disney is a circle jerk of narcissists.
Yesss, the guy is so self absorbed he’s unlikable
Even his teeth are narcissists

Exactly.
Anything less than 200% is bigotry

I watched a reaction for episodes 1 and 2 for kicks to see clips.. and yea it's pretty bad. The Maestro 😂😂
I think I can sum this up pretty quick. Doctor who showrunners raise middle finger to fanbase.
Fanbase doesn't notice because they left the building a long time ago.
Pretty much, I tried a few episodes after Capaldi but it was so cringe worthy I quit and never looked back. I had some degree of hope with Russel and Tenant coming back for a special, but even that was false hope.
I think I got through 1,5 episodes of JW. I'm so glad my tax money isn't paying for this (it's paying for a lot of other crap though).
Out there watching grass grow which is more interesting…
Makes sense. After all the building was on fire. Just no one has called firefighters and people like Disparu have brought us marshmallows and sticks lol
I quite after the glass ceiling trailer
So Davros is no longer allowed to travel around in a chair with wheels but space babies are?
I’m sure Dante talked about a special ring of Hell for people like you, Russell.
And we can't associate wheelchairs with evil, but associating drag queens with evil is not only okay but somehow progressive. WTF
Trouble is Full-RTD quite enjoys special rings....
Lol it's like everyones forgotten RTD created the best series of this show. So wouldn't suggest the problem lies with Disney and studio interference, considering Doctor Who has been going this way for years.
Actual unique people don’t tell you they’re unique. It’s obvious
I’m gay and this is a disgrace
Thank you, it shows how the show is garbage even for gay people.
I sincerely feel terrible for all my gay friends and what the Alphabet mafia is doing to their lives.
Most gay people just want to live normal, decent, happy, loving lives and want to be left alone....
How dare you! Impossible. You must have a new problem we have to create to discredit you: internalized bigotry.
I’m a disgrace and this is gay

Trust me, as an American who loved the show before Doctor Karen.. It SHOULD be British. That's part of what Doctor Who is.
Yeah, like Indiana Jones should be a straight white man... Oh crap.
They don’t care about the American audience. At this point I wish they WOULD just see us as $$ because maybe we’d get good programs again.
@@hatednycDEI/ESG investments are much more profitable in the short term.
Then when the time to repay the investments comes, the CEOs will either be long gone on their golden planes or go away with a golden parachute.
Doctor Karen lol. Pretty fitting. And yeah, the inherent British-ness of the show has always been a source of its appeal to me as an American, too. A Doctor Who has only 2 requirements for the leading man (other than obviously being a good actor for the part) 1) Be a man. 2) Be a Brit. New guy has a strong accent, but he doesn't sound British at all. He should've done what David did. Tennant's natural voice is Scottish, but he did a BBC English accent for the role.
@@UnchainedEruption To paraphrase Games Workshop, "the Gatwas were always British".
If you're still watching Dr Who, you deserve what you get
Well not really, obviously Russel T Davies returning as showrunner peaked everyones interest. Also you're watching a video about new Doctor Who hahaha
@@PhyzikTalks watching a series and watching a review about it isn't the same...I never watched doctor who and I'm here....just to see the discusion about tv shows flopping cause of bad fake woke writting. lol
Growing up, changing from hiding behind the sofa, scared of Cybermen to terrified of the culture your own children could be exposed to.
"Remember everyone, the monster that likes to predate upon small children wasn't born wrong and should be protected at all costs."
Nice message BBC. What was the creature's name - Saville?
Remember the kids are also perfect because they can't grow up for the gay man. It feels like RTD is trying to tell us something about his hobbies.
Nope it's moloch . . .
"Remember, no one is born wrong, and everyone grows up to become who they were meant to be, and everyone is meant to be their authentic selves and that is a good thing" said the Doctor to baby Hitler.

So... flamboyant "chocolateness", test tube babies, pro abortion, pro illegal immigration, and compassion for criminals endangering innocent people.
The progressive's greatest hits.
Combine that with lore breaking and bad writing and it makes me wonder... What happened to Russel?
This was always him. Nothing happened to them. They were always paving the way for this like an RPG. Everything he ever told you was leading to this. He is a super villain.
There is no illegal immigration in this; Disparu misrepresented what was stated. The planet they go to as asylum seekers/refugees are all-in for taking refugees. They just can’t be arsed to come fetch you. The place that won’t take them, they don’t bother trying to go to.
@@Drak976 True, looking back he started to insert more and more risky stuff that we let slide.
Like the concrete face, bj giving girlfriend in that one episode.
At least back then he had to reign it in, now he is off the leash.
I'm not a Who fan, but from my understanding, he was just a corporate suit that took credit for the talent of others.
Nothing, he's always been a hack fraud. I realized this back in like 2010 when I decided to watch Torchwood and it was some of the worst nonsense I'd ever fucking seen. Then I noticed that he was credited as the writer of exactly zero of my favorite episodes and when things were particularly stupid or the Doctor was acting out of character his name often came up. Look at the rest of his TV catalog and it's really obvious the Doctor Who soft reboot working was despite his efforts rather than because of them, he worked as a head writer only because he got out of the way of the much better episode writers it seems.
They told people not to watch and then they're surprised when people didn't watch?
This doesn't appeal to Americans it appeals to the mythical "modern" audience.
"We've created this new doctor!"

"Fuck I knew we'd forgotten something"

No. They would never noticed that. They would just start saying representation matters and representation is so important for the future because representation is what represents the representational representation of Representative people.

Do you mean that black and gay aren't personalities? You bigot!

It's funny cause it's true. Space babies
All of that except they just shrug instead of the last line.
Ive got to say that the on-the-nose message of the episode being "you need to accept into your communities people that literally want to kill you" has to be some of the most blatant, insidious woke messaging i have ever seen
The pathetic part is this show is meant for the gay audience so basically "Don't get upset voting for communities invading your country that will throw you from a roof if given the opportunity because racism"
Huh, is this why Europe keeps admitting muslins who grape and harrass their women. Sure got it.
But it's like they said the quiet part out loud--you're not supposed to ADMIT that they are child-killing monsters. Hell, we don't even claim that.
@@billjacobs521They seem to be performing an amateur theatre play, not realising that the lines between brackets are stage directions and must not be spoken aloud.😂
It's all part of the plan to lube us up to accept the global caliphate.
I feel bad for the millions of normal Brits who grew up watching and loving Dr.Who. That show is like an institution over there and it was tough to watch those clips from the recent episode. The producers of the show now are absolutely insane. Im 41 years old and have been watching South Park since I was in high school. If they ever bastardized SP like they've done here I'd F'n lose my mind. To the real Dr.Who fans, love from 🇨🇦.
I grew up with DW, so did this guy i knew. for a brief time in uni this year. He was over the moon about the Tennant specials in 2023 because the doctor was far more 'mature' than previously. idek where he got that idea
Luckily South Park is immune to such nonsense.
I've seen every Dr. Who story. All of them, original and NuWho. Probably several times. I discovered the show as a teen in high school. Honestly what's happening now is less sacrilege when they announced they were doing the female Doctor. When I first heard of this, I honestly thought it was a joke or a hoax, like that one comedy special Steven Moffat did. I never thought the BBC would actually ever do it. That's when they jumped the shark, though realistically the quality was in decline before that from Capaldi's final season. I saw a couple episodes of the Whittaker era just to give benefit of the doubt, but no they were awful. Nothing has changed since then. I hoped it might with RTD back at the helm, but if anything this is even worse.
But I'm not surprised. Everything nowadays is just a terrible, woke reboot/remake of something that was once popular and successful and beloved, now as a soulless corporate cashgrab. The madness of unoriginality began with Star Wars in 2015 doing "The Force Awakens" or perhaps even earlier than that with the Trek movies J.J. Abrams also did.
@@UnchainedEruption I hear ya man, Its like talent and originality have been sucked from the entire world and replaced with mediocre wokeness.

What a surprise, Gatwa can't act, just perform. But the baddie out-does even him in that respect.
As part of the American audience I can safely say that he does not Appeal to the American audience
You are 100% correct. I've never even heard of this guy before and after the one episode, I understand why.
He's not going to bring in the bulk of black viewers, especially the male ones, with absolute certainty. Which begs the question: Who is this "representation" for?
When they push black women it's always the brash, antagonistic, 90s stereotype or lesbian. When it's black men being pushed: flamboyant and gay are defaults.
At least less mainstream shows are picking up the slack.
I 100% agree. I would never watch a minute of this on my own. The only reason I'm giving any time is because of Disparu's commentary.
It doesn’t appeal to anyone
i definitely agree, he's a terrible actor and this show and everything he says in every interview about it are basically all leftist ideological indoctrination which all boils down to white people bad even though they invented democracy and created the most advanced and equitable society ever where the fewest people in human history are dying from famine, warfare, and disease but to him that's "mediocrity" so he's definitely just another braindead idiot living outside of reality.
They never learn. They’re allergic to reality because they live outside of it and can’t observe anything else. This is beyond pathetic.
You even watch the series, plastic Mickey or living fat?
That's how overton window works. This is a slow burn until people submits.
Imagine having a show that has ran for decades to only be killed in one night then to blame the fans that you insulted for not showing up when you told them to eff off.
about the space babies... why the hell did they try the weird lip syncing, when they probably could've glued a bluetooth speaker to the stroller and claimed it was letting them talk with their minds because they aren't mature enough to make comprehensible words physically yet? y'know, a scifi solution...
That would have been alot less off putting
When someone says, "This is gay." This is what they have always meant.
"Ha! Gaaay!" Was made for this...
@@TheSimpleMan454 I get 24 hour shadowbans in CZcams comments for ppl reporting me for harassment/hate speech for linking the Community, Chang "Ha GAY!" clip all the time and it's worth it every. damn. time.
Perfect response to some Disneyphile when their argument only consists of "well your just an ist/phobe". Someone like that is only gonna see what their cult brainwashing allows them to anyway so may as well give em a little taste of what they want. There is no arguing with stupid/crazy.
Imagine thinking straight white males (that's me fwiw) are all the woke CRT stereotype so they assume we hate all ppl that aren't like us (the irony is the only ppl i hate are extremist authoritarians and that's based on them trying to dictate my speech, values and morality which is wholly regardless of their creed or colour).
The use of "gay" as an insult like that never meant anything against actual gays to me the same way calling someone a woman/girl/bitch or saying "calm your tits" or "don't get ur panties in a twist" wasn't a knock on actual women lol. It's pointing out the idiocy of the stereotype. The point was to disparage ppl for (jokingly and hyperbolically) being an overtly hyper-feminine/effeminate stereotype because their extreme empathy, emotionality, or cacting like a narcissistic special little snowflake etc. was clouding their judgement, and/or capacity for critical thought or common sense.
The intent was never to generalize that those whole giant groups all act that way all the time. That would be retarded (again in the colloquial sense of a person jokingly and hyperbolically being perceived that way who are obviously not and not to knock on actually mentally handicapped ppl who have no choice as to how they think or operate).
It was just to point out there are some who are prone to those differing kinds of silliness and it's ridiculous to operate that way when you have no excuse or justification for it so don't be that guy.
Hell there are plenty of straight white men that act that way too and we used it against our own mostly, not against those groups as that would be rude as 9 times out of 10 that's a hormonal or genetic thing they have very little control over or could be the result of some undiagnosed mental disorder like bi-polar or due to trauma like sexual assault or something which is not funny.
To quote capaldi, "Stop saying that. Nobody says that"
Gatwa makes me want Jody back....and I couldnt even finish the series with her in it.
Why? He's a great actor and he's well suited for the role. Or is it just coz he's gay? The show has massive problems but Ncuti isn't one of them, Jody also wasn't the problem. She's a great actor, but wasn't given a single thing to work with. When she was given a chance to perform, she did great (i.e Haunting of Villa Diadati). How is this even your issue with the show, how was jody your issue with the show? She didn't write it lol. She didn't make it insanely PC
@PhyzikTalks He is pretty trash. I am bisexual and black so all your typical bs SJW talking points don't fly. Jody wad garbage. She didn't come off as smart because she never figured things out. Things just solved themselves. You cam like trash but they lack skill and it isn't just the garbage script
@@PhyzikTalks The way he talks is very difficult to listen to.
@@thareelhelloagain I think his accent adds a really nice vibe to his performance, however if you mean his tendency to over-act then yeah I completely agree
@@PhyzikTalks It's both, the over acting is the main issue but I do find his accent to be quite ugly and blunt to listen to for a character, The Doctor, that has historically had a pleasant (or at the very least, extremely clear and easy to understand) voice and way of speaking. Gatwa manages to at once be both over acting and also incoherently mumbling his lines and words out in a consistently hard to comprehend fashion. I'm a listener who is more than comfortable with both Scottish and a host of African (including Rwandan) accents, and I still find the way he talks (and especially the way he pronounces his Rs and his Os) to be incredibly repellant and just, as I said earlier, straight up ugly on the ear. It's like he did zero work at all to fit his way of speaking in with the already established character. He doesn't have to sound exactly like any of them, but he probably should sound a heck of a lot nicer and more understandable than he currently does.
How did the quality drop so much in the space of 19 years???
For the record, I was 19 when Doctor Who came back in 2005, and I was amazed by it all. It was a phenomenonal opener. I would challenge anyone to find a 19 year old who would call this quality.

Just to point out, in case anyone wasn't aware, the Bogeyman is a creature from English folk tales, usually used to scare children into behaving. The name is a nickname which stems from the actual name of the creature which is a "Boggle" and "Bogey" has absolutely nothing to do with snot or bogeys found up a nose; The Bogeyman/Boggle is a type of malicious goblin, usually said to inhabit marshes, mountainous places and other dangerous areas.

@@rachaelhalliday1193 I'm from up North as well and pronounce it the same, but I didn't want to confuse matters even more. I think the origin of the creature has become forgotten in more modern times so there are quite a few interpretations of the creature that are different, nowadays.
I just thought I would shed some light, especially given that the original version would have made for a much better story than some ridiculous snot-monster; The Boggles were said to snatch children and travellers from dangerous places and makes for quite a good story to keep people/children away from such areas.
@14Anon2 I didn't know about it's origin, so I appreciate it. 🙂

This is what happens when the people in charge decides to abandon the core audience of a show in exchange for a "modern audience". It all turns to crap.

No but you see... HE'S GAY AND BLACK! YOU NEEEEED TO LOVE HIM OR ELSE!
hello fellow noticer ;)
I never grew up with Star Wars or Star Trek, so I didn't FULLY understand the feeling of watching an IP you love sound like it's being written by a 5 year old UNTIL Dr. Who. I grew up with 9-12 (technically 13 if we're counting John Hurt's War Doctor, I personally do and I like the number 13 it's and lucky and unlucky number) and I still loved every moment I watched of it. I love it just like Gary from Nerderotic does, it's peak British sci-fi to me and amazingly written. I couldn't get enough of the concept of regeneration, the Timelords, the lore, the companions, the enemies etc. I STILL tear up at so many scenes; John Smith's Rings of Akhaten/Final speech & regeneration, David Tenant's "It's not fair" speech & regeneration, Capaldi's final speech, Rory the lone centurion, Amy & Rory touched by a weeping angle, tragic romance of the doctor and Summer, Heaven Sent speech/ending etc. It was so perfect....
Now it's like watching Blue's Clues or Teletubbies is the best way I can compare the acting. So childish and quirky meta comedy.
Doctor Who for me ended in 1989. I'm SO happy that PlutoTV, RokuTV and XumoTV all have a dedicated CLASSIC Doctor Who channel. I can watch the best Doctor ever (Tom Baker) and the other classic Doctors. I will never watch the current woke rubbish!
I'm not even a Who fan, it sucks to see more and more IPs get 'modernized.' Condolences.
yeah, i'm not a fan either(aside liking several scenes i saw on youtube) and damn the quality sickens me...for Doctor Who's fans: if you come to italy, i've a consolatory hug for you(considering this shitshow, you need a hug XD)
Doctor who has arguably gotten it worse than other franchises, too.. they dialed it up to 11. I'm also not a who fan
@@TwistedReality13 yeah these past previous seasons is just… egregious, excruciating, and cringe. I get Dr Who is a bit over the top, but this episode is an absolute circus of a clown show. Its embarrassing.

MODERN AUDIENCES™
Stay tuned for the next episode starring:
Fruity Gateway
The "you stupid woman, with your weird child" clip seems almost custom made for this episode.
writing a show without consequences while being a writer that doesn't believe you should face them is the best way to describe the creativity on display in Doctor Who
When you think of RTD's once great and nuanced writing during the Ecclestone and Tennant eras and you see that he has now written a so called story about baby's bogies being used to create a bogeyman, really makes you wonder what on earth has happened to RTD's talent over the years. The mind boggles.
"I've seen some bad stuff, but nothing as bad as this"
Said by a timeless agent of good who has been a direct hand in genocides, about a monster made out of baby snot
So the idea is these children are absolutely perfect the way they are (unable to grow up) but it would have been better if they had never been born?
Abortion is the undercurrent
Also kind of makes you wonder if they considered the audience they are pandering too.
I don't think any T's felt like they were perfect they way they were and almost certainly felt like they grew up wrong.
They are so stupid they are firing on their own side and don't even notice it!
I think a good spin on the intelligent baby/better had they not been born COULD have been an interesting moral conundrum, we are always exploring abortion issues on the assumption the baby would actually want to have been born, but what if the baby is so intelligent it can be aware of its situation, adult mind trapped in the body of an infant, aware and sentient, able to communicate but unable to walk, feed themselves etc, that COULD be quite distressing, and since they are intelligent they could communicate tht to people around them, there is our kicking off point to go into mental health issues naturally. Exploring the depression these babies are sinking into as they accept the sad reality of their existence, maybe they become suicidal and ask to be ended with dignity. And THERES our natural flow into an abortion hook with a twist, this time instead of the adults (representhing governments etc) arguing over wether a foetus is life or not cos that angles played out, instead now theres no ambiguity, these babies are telling you they didnt want to be born, so the argument now is wether the adults morally accept that choice even if its not their choice, because it ISNT their choice! And wether it is ethically correct to euthanise them, because they asked for it, or condemn them to a life they dont want to lead just because it goes against YOUR morals.
Wouldnt THAT have been a more thought provoking angle? But h.. Im No Russell T Davies so what do i know ay?
Love it, that at the end, he kills the babys by setting the space station, with no means to move by itself, on a collision course with a planet
I'm willing to bet that the director though the idea of "space babies" was so cool he had to make an episode around it. Not the other way around. I feel physically unwell watching this crap. It's kind of ... corrupt, unnatural, evil basically, that's the best description for it, it's evil.
So this is how Liberty dies...with Thunderous Applause

One (the primary?) reasons for the Doctor having companions is to keep him from becoming something worse. Along the lines of "Good men don't need rules, now is not the time to ask why I have so many."
Thank goodness Capaldi was the last Doctor and they never made any more.
10:55 "We have to try to appeal to the American audience." Americans: "What the hell is this El-Jibbity crapfest!?"
As an American I never once watched Doctor Who, Black Adder, Monty Python’s Flying Circus, Fawlty Towers, Red Dwarf, The Young Ones, or Sharpe’s Rifles and thought you know what, these shows definitely need to be Americanized!
This abomination is painful to watch even with Disparu’s commentary.
@@surlyunicorn9461 I actually learned to speak British by watching Doctor Who as a teenager. :D It's the only way I can understand what Disparu is saying. :D But... That was the older stuff.... back in the 90s. you know... back when it was still good. :D
@@marhawkman303 Yeah I learned a lot of what’s probably outdated lingo from those shows too. A few of those expressions are still in use to this day though and at least I know the difference between chips and crisps. lol
@@surlyunicorn9461 One from this video you may have failed to even notice... the word "pram"... that's not in American English at all. :D

My favorite part is when Ruby sees that the planet is called "Pacifico Del Rio" and declares, "That's English!" ...English
To be fair one of the reasons the UK shts on us is because we still say color while they've been colonized by French to say colour. The examples are infinite. There are white European Scandi's and Brits in America then Europe and that makes them mald. They have to groom the King's Stool hoping for a kernel of corn from Amierca.
A lot of Americans tend to forget that their country isn't the only one in the world, or that other languages are not just weird English.
It's sad. English isn't even the most spoken language in the world, Chinese is and it's not even a close contest.
But that expression is Spanish not English which was his point…it’s sad that basic reading comprehension is not more common that retardation. It’s not even a close contest.
@@MorganSaphnonsense. There is nothing American about any of this. This is not for Americans I don't know who this is for.
@@MorganSaph As a Dane who's lived in America for 10 years now it was a major culture shock to learn that Europeans are far, and i mean far, more ignorant of Americans than Americans are of the rest of the world.
Those Christopher Eccleston clips still give me goosebumps. Such a better time.
Never thought I’d be nostalgic for “Love and Monsters.”
Remember when the Doctor killed a goblin king and was all glib about it? Yet snot monster is where he draws the line? Almost like the writers don't care about character consistency or lore.
One episode apart those two are.
though the goblin king was actually eating babies, this creature was just scaring babies.
The Bogey Man is an English folk creature (a type of goblin) that inhabits dangerous areas, such as marshes or mountains and are said to snatch children and harm lost travellers. The name is a sort of nickname that is a play on the proper name, Boggles. They have absolutely nothing to do with snot or bodily fluid. Dr Who managed to turn a genuinely interesting concept and made it into a ridiculous bastardisation that has little to with the original creature.
This isn't Doctor Who, this is Doctor What-What, In-The-Butt.

The worst thing is that Ncuti and millie actually put in great performances (despite the abismal script) and if given half a chance, they could actually be a great Doctor/companion combo
This isn't Doctor Who. This is Mister What?
At least new Dr Who is an affirmation to not pay for a tv licence!
New review baseline: "If it wasn't using previously popular IP, would it be good enough as a standalone episode of a new show?". And we all know that they need to hijack popular IP because no one would watch that shit if it didn't have ties to existing IP.
Absolutely criminal that trend continues to live and ruin so many IPs, don’t know how they keep getting away with it
@@keyki9832 When blackrock and vanguard are giving away free money just to get "THE MESSAGE" in everything, viewership and fanbase doesn't matter. They get the same amount of money if they have "live" funbase or if the TV is showing episodes in an empty room.

Well , what can I say as a 57 year old who watched dr who since the pertwee era , i was nearly in tears watching space babies , for gods sake a monster made out of baby snot and no dought other unmentionables , then the devils chord , a bloody musical , my wife , kids and myself like jinx , but in this story i dont think it was such a good part , meaning she should of been able to have a more menacing , stronger part . The doctor ok 👍 , but im getting a little si k snd tired of the gayness being rammed down our throats , ive nothing about gay people at all , i have friends who are gay , but doctor who doesnt need to tell us all the time , all i need is a good story like the good old days. And the two stories i saw definatly wasnt doctor who , i thought better of russle T davis .😢

It's predictable the characters would imply it would've been better to murder all the babies. Time for them to ask: "Are we the baddies?"
Well, they stole the idea from Lois McMaster Bujold's universe, and specifically from her novel Falling Free. So they had to ruin the stolen bits of the idea too.
all to encourage it among their brainless audience
This coming from the BBC
The company that is all for the mutil@tion of our kids when they should just say we'll have jimmy saville babysit

Yeah. We're supposed to sympathize with killing the babies, but not with killing the monster. Funny that.😐
They would absolutely never have the self-awareness to even consider the idea that they are the baddies. They are fabulous. They are representation. They are glorious and they can never be the baddies even when they do evil
Didn’t Russell already make the butterfly joke before?
I could’ve sworn that one of the doctors companions before 11 asked “What if I go back in time and like… kill my grandfather or something, would I cease to exist?” and the Doctor just responded with “You’d kill your grandfather?” or something to that effect.
I swear I’ve heard that joke before in New Who.
Yes! It was Martha in The Shakespeare Code. Only it was done better then.
He should have just reused the same joke exactly, at least then he would have the excuse that it was a callback
As an American...I reject the idea this is an American Doctor. I will, however, give you that it is a Disney Doctor.
Hey buddy, take it easy I’m American and there ain’t nobody wanting to watch anything from Disney over here. I miss the old doctor.
In all honesty, I was starting to tap out in the Matt Smith era, it was too hyperactive and spastic for me, they were diminishing the Doctor before all this, we need a posh, semi-Victorian steam punkish, gentlemanly Doctor, that is well dressed and stoically masculine, the companion should be the fish out of water.
Don't worry Star Trek is just as trash as Dr Who now. It is made for the same people this is made for.

That's why I prefer watching older Star Trek on Netflix.
It's made for the useful idiots attending political coachella in campuses.

You know, a LOT of people still call Dr Who a 'kids show'...but this is more than childish...
The real laugh is the woke use that as ana excuse for shitty plots and crappy writing, but then say it isn't a kids show to excuse the adult pervert crap.
So which is it? We all know, pervert shit aimed at kids show.
I know you think that the reason Russel T Davies is making bad stories now is because he has changed but I would suggest a simpler explantion, maybe when he was running the show before there were people around him who were much smarter and they corrected his bad scripts and now those people have long since left the show and we are seeing what he produces when there arent people around him who know what they are doing.
He managed to bring Who back but I remember when he left as the showrunner and a lot of people basically said "Thanks, but its probably time for a change"
He did in the past though write and produce several other series though. He didn't just magically appear in 2005 with Doctor Who, he had a history of good and very good shows - which is how he got the gig. Including Century Falls, a kids show where, no kidding, a cult of demon worshippers hypnotize a pregnant new arrival into letting her child be the vessel for the demon to be reborn into. Eventually stopped mid-birth in the temple and being set on fire and collapsing with the cult and altar/demon portal trapped inside. A. kids. show.
There has definitely been a change!!
Anyone who saw his show "Queer as Folk" knows he's always been one of the fruitiest people in the industry. Disney just let him write with gay abandon in this instance.
Russell T Davies literally stole the idea from the film Baby Geniuses, where babies are super spies that talk like adults but sound like babies.
One of the worst films ever made.
I heard they made like 5 sequels to that. So stupid.
And STILL far superior than this show.
Don't forget Boss Babies starring Alec Never Misses Baldwin still was an okay movie sounds better then this sorry Whovians the Daleks were right.
Oh that is not the only one, if you look it up, stay with the wikipedia article, because the Look Who's Talking series of movies are just as terrible.
Why does ANYONE think this idea is clever, funny or cool?
It is lame and looks so dumb I feel like I have to sing a line from the Joeseph Smith song from South Park:
Dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb.
In Look who's talking, the Kids didn't actually talk, the audience just hears their thoughts.
This does not appeal to the American audience in the slightest speaking as a massive fan lol. That's the reason why he's the doctor, he made it his personal goal that no matter where he goes if someone is in need of help, he does. He knew he purpose, he knew his motivation: Explore the wonders of the VAST cosmos across all of space and time, WHILE helping those that need it and he found humans the most in need so he spends his time mostly with his defending us pudding brains lol. This writing it PURE spite for everything that came before which is weird because Russell was responsible for some of the best moments and now he's... This... I hate life.
I didn’t expect the Heel Vs Babyface Icon🤩
Ironic that these days my conversations and messages to mates are more about what NOT to watch, rather than recommending films/series positively.
How did we get here 🤔🤦♂️
wrong people won the last great war.
Ah yes, I had such a conversation with my brother the other day where I was asking him about a film I knew he'd seen, and rather than asking "Is it good or bad?" I asked "Is it just bad or is it annoying?" It's scifi, which is a genre that has been particularly hard hit in the last years.
Same. Visited my parents and accidentally saw Rings of Power in their TV playlist (They have at least seen all the movies). Asked my mother did you watch it. "Yes". Did you understand it. "I have no idea."
They know the show is so bad that when you go to the Rotten Tomato page the All Audience reviews are missing/hidden. When you click on the All Audience review tab this is all that comes up. "No All Audience reviews for Doctor Who: Season 1." That's some serious cope if you can only read critic reviews and not the audience.
Weird that. There's apparently 100 reviewers there.
Are you watching it on a really low light high colour screen, or have they really made it that way? Because he keeps stepping out of the dark like the Cheshire Cat of Golliwogs.
