  • Today was the day we have all been waiting for!
    Wylder had his 'switch on' at Hear and Say Ashgrove.
    It is amazing that our beautiful baby boy who was born completely deaf, now has access to sound.
    A special thank you to the Queensland Children’s Hospital (Ex-Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital), Australian Hearing & Hear and Say for all their help through out our journey. We are forever grateful!
    Go over and follow Wylder’s instagram page for more up-to-date and day-to-day activities for our hearing loss and Cochlear Implant journey!

    First time was ok.. at 14:00 we could see this boy is tired. Is a long time for him.. first activation. To be first activated is a new time.. it is hard for little baby. To train his ears, first time 5-10 minutes are long enough.. it is a long time to train his ears..

    where is a sign language? A deaf child does need to learn a sign language. A child feel more safe as a sign language to learn ;-).

      Lennert de crom hi there, we have basic signs that we use however we are focusing on listening and spoken languages. Our child does and always will feel “safe” but thank you for your concern.

    He’s so tired poor baby. Maybe they would have a better time with him and better reactions if they waited until he had some sleep?! It’s obvious he is very tired! Not a time to be introducing anything anew to a baby when their that tired!!

    Stupid idea with that tambourine !!!

    • @wylder9054
      @wylder9054  Před 2 lety +2

      The tambourine is used to see how loud the sound is for Wylder, if he were to have a reaction to it that made it seem loud, they would be able to adjust the sound/volume accordingly. Far from stupid. It’s used to make the process of switch on comfortable.

    • @wylder9054
      @wylder9054  Před 5 lety +11

      Shay Dinosaur thanks for your DISGUSTING comment. As a parent, we are able to make a decision we think is best for OUR child. I’m glad you’re happy with your decision to live within the deaf/non-hearing world. For us, we wanted to give Wylder as many possibilities in life as possible. You’re born with two ears that are meant to hear (my opinion) and there just happened to be a mutation in his genes which stopped him from having that ability. We have provided an opportunity for him to have that ability. If he grows up and wants to live within the deaf world, he’s more than welcome to, we will SUPPORT THAT DECISION. However, if he were to grow up without Cochlear Implants and decided later on that he wanted them, his speech and listening would be very DELAYED and the implants would not provide the same impact on his life as they’re able to when implanted young. Thank you for your comment, move on and don’t watch or follow if you’re not interested in supporting us. Buh-bye.

    • @shayaroha6656
      @shayaroha6656 Před 5 lety

      Wylder you think his speech and listening would be delayed? Oh bitch please. It’s called sign language, and punishment if he doesn’t listen just like other kids.

    • @wylder9054
      @wylder9054  Před 5 lety +7

      Shay Dinosaur simple fact, it would be delayed if he were to decide to have the surgery later on in life. I’m very supportive of everyone within the deaf community and I hate that you’ve tried to bring someone down because of their personal decisions and opinions. We do use sign language where needed and will continue to do so, so Wylder has options when he’s old enough to make his own choice. He will NOT be punished, I don’t know where you got that from. No need for the language, this channel is to help support others, no one needs your negativity and hate. 👎🏼
