- A lot of players seem to have the wrong idea, maybe Katarina as a champion creates bad habits but this is something I see too often from Kat players. Hopefully this Katarina guide helps :)

Two things I’m learning about Kat is that in lane phase, I play way too scared and don’t even trade, making my own laning phase horrible because I’m being so scared to make them low. Another thing is that in team fights, I’m channeling my ult way to hard despite having resets to use. Thank you for the video.

one of the BEST educational videos i've ever seen. i've seen many _"how to climb to XYZ rank in 3h"_, but it is the first time i've seen how to climb in a simple way (with the bronze/silver/gold mentality - ARAMs and whatnot) with such high skill champion.
I think the biggest issue is so many katarina content creators show all these flashy high kill games that are 1/10 games they played and me myself I try to recreate what I see. I then went on the hunt for a video that isn’t cut and just showed farming in lane as katarina and I’m very glad I found this, just because I struggle to keep high cs against certain laners
Honestly, this is what I just did. I literally just sat in mid staring at Xerath. He was missing everything, but I wasn't willing to risk the stun + viego gank if I jumped in...my jungler was afk farming...so, just sat around out farming him until opportunities happened. Eventually ended up 13-1-5.
It's amazing how little you actually have to do as a mid laner in this game. Most people fail because they're trying too fucking hard to make flashy solo plays and end up hard inting.Are you going to lose games because of your team still doing that bullshit? Absolutely. Will you lose a lot less if you stop doing that bullshit yourself? Absolutely.
Curtis is spot on...all of the higher level wave mechanics and such are nice and all but, for most people...they'd do better if they just calmed the fuck down and focused on the basics.

This is the one, one! Kat video I've seen someone play and explain that I can actually understand what they're saying and what they're doing during fights. It moves slow enough with good (much needed) dumbed down explanation 10/10 in my book genuinely thank you

@@cupidok2768 That's okay bro, there's a lot of games that you can't win simply because of team mates or enemies smurfing or something. That's okay. Just try to play well yourself and see your games as oppertunities to improve, instead of only focusing on the LP gains / loss. There will come games where you are the deciding factor and those matter most!

To make the fights more favorable, kat needs to play off the resets, her passive with the daggers is her main damage. A lot of these fights were winnable, but the base combo wasnt enough
are the immense amount of pink wards and oracle lens in your shop there to remind you to buy them? XD
As someone who plays kats and probably is my mid main at this point in silver. It pains to see you not using flash aggressively. Because if you're not using flash aggressively why use it all. In my silver mind with 70 ranked games this season with a 65% wr in silver (just climbed out of bronze a few days ago) just bring exhaust XD. Feel like i get more value with exhaust ignite.
If I took exhaust, I would've just not used that aggressively either. That's the point. So many times I didn't flash then they died anyways
I am silver 4 now, Yone main, but I definitely wanna try Kat to be my backup pick as Yone is often banned here. Your video makes it look quite simple to execute basic stuff and still win games. Gonna try this strat in normals to see how it goes
Bro in my games if I just sit and farm there is always that one guy that goes hard inting. In order to win games consistently in elo hell, you have to stomp lane or outjungle the enemy. In low elo it really is all about the kills and you have to be more fed than the guy your teammates are feeding to

What do you think with this kind of "passive" playstyle how far could you climb? I just feel like in Platinum 1 if i dont put up some pressure people start to abuse it and slow push every wave and then just roam or deep ward into our jg and chunk me while i last hit under tower.
It for sure gets worse as you get close to diamond.
I wouldn't recommend this general strat to people in plat all the time. Depends on the matchup

Thanks for this video, I found it quite helpful. Regarding the focus on not roaming - is this just to show a simpler and safer side of gameplay or would you actually recommend not to roam low ELO in general?
For sure you can roam if you can push out and not miss many minions. People often think they need to 1v9 to climb, might try to do too much and it backfires rather than waiting for opportunities.
Being consistently strong going into midgame is important since people tend to aram in low elo.
Also important is keeping a cool head since people WILL make mistakes even if you or your team is behind.

How do you feel about wild rift ? Have you played and if so what’s your thoughts and builds on her there? Haven’t had chance to play on the pc in forever so the phone is all I got rn
I played it for maybe a week or two to make a video on it like a year ago. Maybe what I know is a bit outdated? I got gold in that time.
I pretty much just used what I knew of old league since those items are mostly old items.
Gunblade best rush obviously.
Next, idk if liandry or magic pen is better. People level up quick and it makes magic pen less valuable (?). Liandry vs magic pen item was always situational on Kat in older seasons.
DD is only for physical damage and I don't like it.
I was using rightous glory boots lol. Slow is good and you are roaming all the time XD Also you get more damage from liandry since they are slowed. Can slow with gunblade then slow with rightous glory. idk if that is worth though over zhonyas boots.
idk whats optimal damage on or when for infinity orb vs morello vs void vs rabadons vs pendant + ap buy. A lot of math that I didn't do because it's not my main game lol.
2 minions for front line and backline makes kat q pretty nice in lane lol.
Other than that idk. Was just roam of legends. Laning is important in league but it didn't feel that important in wild rift. Minions are a lot of fun on PC.
It's a nice video like yes climb isn't complicated but (i think that you have the same opinion as me) if you want to improve yourself and climb higher you have to limit test and like this you will know what to do in difficult situation. So yes playing safe is a good way to climb and limit test (means that you have to int) is the way to improve

For me, diamond to master was a lot of out of game stuff. Good sleep, high focus, games of 3 then break, reviewing games, good mindset.

Hey could you do the same type of video but with promos to diamond? i can carry very easy from iron to gold but platinum gets harder for me.
I have other gameplays in diamond but if you want to improve quick and break into the top 2% (diamond) then get coaching

I saw that you play a lot electrocution.
And I wanted to ask you about that. I saw that most of the best kata players like Nyro, or Kataevolve, juste never play it, and always play first strike or conqueror.
Same thing for the riftmaker, they never play it (in the actual meta)
So I would like to know what do you think about this.

FS is getting nerfed soon and elec is more fun, so I'd rather just go that if I want burst.
And yeah, riftmaker is kinda whatever. I'd rather go some form of sunderer, sunfire, or bork in a lot of potential riftmaker games.

Good Video, Iron and Low Bronze is whole different beast IMO. I swear at least 2 out of 10 games are decided by BOTs deranking to IRON 4 to sell the account. Every time I get a Janna or a Yumi that won't respond in chat and I am out of dodges a tear rolls down my cheek lol.
dont even watch youtube videos if ur iron or bronze it will just overcomplicate things, just learn your champ mechanics and turbo stomp the shit out of them

This is a really good video, but just a reminder, this does NOT work when your botlane feed 0-5 in 5mins. Wich happens to be the problem with getting out of low elo😀
If you just lose that game and go next its fine. You can still win most and climb.
Even better, the enemy adc will prob just give you a big shutdown if you were chill, farmed well, and waited for a good opportunity
dude its time to understand that you need to be a much better player as a katarina to be the same rank as a garen or almost any other champ.

I'm hard stuck gold 1 with 7 promos to plat. There is no way to climb now, because Kata can't carry like before durability patch. I can be feed but If I have a troll, afk, inter... in my team, my game is lost. Apart from that, Kata now need more kills and keep ahead to do something. If the enemy jgl focus your line, bye bye. In my opinion the best chance to climb right now is playing with a premade

You can take either. Elec better early, first strike better later. Preference

I would like to point out that if you changed the rule "do not flash offensively" to "only flash offensively" you would snowball twice as hard. It does not require any additional mechanical intensity or good macro to use flash e on low hp opponent, I'd say that's fair game. I do get the point that you're trying to make, but people who watched Coach Curtis' and Neace's would find that redundant. Being unreasonably conservative on summoners feels it actually detracts from the main point which is to understand how we can take advantage of opportunities.
Hmm sure but that goes against the point of the video. Besides it was really fun not popping flash and waiting for the opponent to walk back and give me a free kill. That happened plenty of times

Okay, so i usually play adc but every now and then I play kat in ranked and last time I had a kat main ask me what my main acc rank was because I had good mechanics and mu knowledge without a lot of mastery (I think it's 30 or 40k points). I had to tell the guy that I'm just straight up good XD, not playing on an alt account, just got mechanics easily and it's not that hard to figure out how to play a matchup
Although, I kinda did just solo kill or at least trade with irelia on repeat though, and thinking about it I can see why it would be a hard matchup

Yeah nah, but this is not your typical low elo game. That first game vs Cass, your telling me a total of 9 min has passed and there has only been 3 total kills all game???? Yeah right, 90% of my games, by 9 min, top would have died 5 times and bott would have died 7 times. Do this in an actual silver elo account. You are playing on a fixed MMR account. Anyone can do what you just did.

In the second game I had shyvanna top 0/4 and a fed irelia/ekko on the enemy team. 4/1 and 8/3 at 16mins. We're down in kills in the last fight and we win the game because I'm strong and played the teamfight better than my counterpart after our team being behind the whole game
0-1 at 5 minutes on the first match? lmao, how did you get so lucky? 90% of my matches by that time the enemy team is 8-2.
I just watched the rest of the matches. Your teams are easily some of the most competent people online at that time. This isn't carrying or winning cause you did well. These are matches where your team did their job well rather than massively feed.
You don't have to carry to climb. Just do your job and make it easier on your team
Average game being 2-8 against your favor at 5mins isn't what usually happens but you can get super unlucky sometimes

@@Cocho_Kat you can play more if you want, but you and the other coaches constantly keep getting team mates who aren’t dying 10 times, refusing to do objectives, have 2 leavers, and an ADC raging because support ignite and got a kill.
