This video talks about all the major reasons as to why certain champions are not loved by Pro players. Instead of going through each and every one of them, most champions fit into a category of what they lack in terms of what is needed for a Pro setting.
Big thanks to these two!

So deep

I guess Gangplank would be the strongest top laner since he's a seaman.
I fucking hated this line.
I actually had to pause to make that is what I heard...

they could've reworked Sona instead
@@kiss-shotacerola-orionhear1442 nah they needed a new champ for their already finished kda skin.
It’s really interesting how different the same exact game can be between a bunch of scrubs playing and a bunch of pros playing. A lot of high level strategies only work when the opponent also knows what they’re doing. It’s what causes some scrub to beat a pro in poker because certain decisions are based on the assumption that your opponent knows what they’re doing
True
Dude the meta in low ranks is to be batshit insane and be aggressive. No one is careful, and if some are, they die because the enemy team don't give 2 shits about dying if they get a kill.
@@aughaughinson8600 Doesnt have to be true. You can be the "never want war but always be ready for it" - wait for enemies to overextend and punish. People always like to auto Thresh under tower into hook, flay and then they flash a towershot that kills them OR Thresh's ignite finishes them off.
@@Dark_Voice ok your one example, at low elo, is noted.
Same in a lot of sports too. I play badminton competitively, and when you play agianst people of lower skill levels and ranks you end up in situations that catch you off guard because you had a resonable level of assumption of that the opponent could/would do in a given scenario. It's always hard to give the pace yourself when the opponent has a very weak pace.

I wonder if he would be good. Champions with a kill reset are risky in pro play I think since pro teams are a lot better at denying it. Also the enemy team can draft around a team comps that's really bad for Viego (a lot of squishy ranged champs)
CC is also a powerful way to shut Viego down since he's not very tanky and he needs his first reset

It was too much
Why can't he just say Glue? Sea man seems excessive. Aquaman is offended now.
2:42 you gotta love Dong's analogies
I was well shook
The analogies are just so outta place with the rest of the video
A note on assasins: mobility used to be valued much more back in the day. Nidalee was very strong in season 1/2/3 because she had a low cooldown leap, making her less punishing to play. When zed came out, he was considered very strong, because he was the only AD champion thar had a consistent escape, while also being an assasin with very good waveclear (so you can roam or take objectives). Having access to an AD assasin mid also opened up opportunities to play comps that didn't rly exist before. This was also a time where there were no armor items for mages and as i recall, seekers armguard was added shortly after zed, as a consequence.
This was a time where xerath's W literally locked him to the ground and increased his range. By these standards, nocturne would be considered a safe champion, due to his superior speed... so it goes without saying that leblanc (who used to have a built-in silence, like talon and kassadin) was extremely overpowered against uncoordinated teams.
leblanc on release could 0-100 anyone while starting with a boot
if they were not a tank, she essentially chased away all the remaining mid lane ADC's so that they would all live safely in the bottom for the rest of their lives

Wow, really well made video Dong, keep it up!
Udyr is the new aatrox, becomes good literally as soon as they announced his rework
Aatrox isnt good.
@@NuclearNuke41 he was extremely good for a short amount of time directly before his rework and even afterwards was very good.
@@NoName-dj4ok yea, that aatrox with atk speed and high mobility was the real og then it got reworked
Hey at least Udyr will get reworked next year and Udyr had a 1 year time period of being good in competitive while Aatrox was good for 1 month only to get reworked after. I think that's why they hate Aatrox because the rework came too soon, Udyr on the other hand have at least 1 year before rework so Udyr mains have time to be happy before saying goodbye while Aatrox mains were unfairly given that rework before they had enough time to play his pre-rework version.
@@years-ti7xl i just hate the fact that they just made the new champ. Other rework is fine but Aatrox is just new champ with the same theme.

How he said veigar made me upset
This was one of the best informative important videos I have ever seen. What a bonus. I would never have guessed from the title
One of the most infuriating things as a jungler is you keeping track of your enemy jungler, ping, maybe even ward, maybe even type in chat, just to watch your laner die to the gank anyway.
that's true... but remember, you only have to play with him. He has to be* him.
Pro players do tilt. They still show up to work even when they are upset.
Ryu : Oh shit, here we go again.
Or they are upset and dont show up to worlds
At first when Donghuap said Lb was the only ranged assassin I kinda thought he forgot about Ahri but then I realize Ahri is a burst mage, not a true assassin...
They're very similar categories. I guess the difference between assassins and burst mages is range and mobility. Both LB and Ahri have range (albeit not a lot) and mobility. The only thing that separates them is LBs W being a melee attack.
Playing Samira as an assassin in the midlane is really fun and she has ranged auto attacks as well.
@@XTheJaws But that's not an assassin, it's an ADC. If you get fed enough to kill an enemy in three attacks then you became a very strong adc. What defines an assassin is not just "kills quickly".
The main thing that separates them is that ahris ult is her only mobility, all assassins have mobility on a basic ability, this is one of their defining features
@@Flechashe I am talking abou the entire play style and build.
Take her mid with ignite, build lethality:
(Sanguine Blade, Merc's, Prowlers Claw, Serpents Fang/Ghostblade, Ravenous Hydra, last item is situational but I prefer Guardian Angel).
Runes: Precision and Domination.
I like to take PTA to maximize single target damage during ult, Prowlers Claw also adds a single target damage increase.
PTA, Overheal, Bloodline, Coup de Grace.
Sudden Impact, Ravenous Hunter.
Literally just play her as an assassin in midlane.
The video aged like milk. Teemo is now a champ played by the pros!
Yeah, A D D make a huge demonstration of how to troll with Teeml in worlds

I miss Aurelion Sol.... Cool design, unique kit, clear strengths but equally glaring weaknesses....
Now he's just a crappy Syndra with worse burst and 10 times more weaknesses but ever so slightly better roaming
At this point even though he was my main mid for a time I forget he's a champion, because Riot gutted him to the point that calling him a champion seems generous
Now Asol will get rework pretty soon and he will be a late game mage
This hurts worse when you are also alore nerd who loves Necrit and T B Skyen and knows he is literally THE strongest being in Runeterra
@@berilsevvalbekret772 Kindred or Zoe? I'm pretty sure they're stronger.

The amount of ads in this video surpasses the pick rate for all the champions mentioned
Could you make a documentary about champions that have been not updated in a long time and they are still relevant now? For example, Zilean is more relevant now and his last update was in season 5.
That's simply because of item changes, nothing interesting about it
Zilean's only update was that minor update. He's legit probably the best designed champion in the history of league
@@spykeex69 ye thats because he is extremely easy to balance. imean what would u do to make him op? buff his passive so that the adc gets more xp than the solo laners?
Nerf: Make him throw digital clock instead of normal clock.

gj keep the content up!
I want to take a moment to speak about 29:08 because I'm personally friends with Huhi's girlfriend, and I happen to know a lot about him and how he thinks.
Huhi hates playing Aurelian Sol on stage now, he despises it. He says the only reason he ever did it for 100 Thieves was because fans asked him to. On stream he doesn't like playing it and in pro-play he's relieved he doesn't have to anymore because he role-swapped to support. He knows he's still good at the champion and could if he wanted to, but he doesn't want to. Why? Well, partially because he just hasn't found the champion fun in a while, but a lot of it has to do with the expectations put on him because of this one game. Aside from a few off-meta games from Caps, Huhi is the only player in the west to ever seriously give Aurelian Sol a chance, and that made him the ambassador of the champion. If other players were more willing to experiment, he probably wouldn't have that much weight on his shoulders, but he hates going into a game thinking "this is MY champion and I have to carry this game because if I don't steamroll then I'm going to get absolutely flamed." And he's kinda right, that's too much pressure to put on one player. If other teams committed to pocket picks and off-meta champions, it would be a lot easier for a player like Huhi to take Aurelian Sol off the bench only when he felt comfortable doing so. Players with picks like Froggen's Anivia or Bjergsen's Zilean have proven there is room in the meta for different picks if the team works around them more. Players should stop feeling like slaves to the meta and start changing the meta to fit their playstyle. And a lot of that falls on coaching.
Both PekinWoof and Nemesis play or played a mean ASol, and I believe both have used him in pro play before, so not sure he's the ONLY player in the west giving him a chance
@@suspendedfornoreason6117 To be precise, I agreed with his point, just not with that specific statement

2:43 I was stretching when this part of the video came up and I had to rewind this to make sure I heard it correctly
That part on Huhi reminded me of off picks(way back) for Poppy and Sivir both getting banned for the rest of the tournament. Off picks were what I loved to see and play when I was a regular

My favorite pocket pick was Caps mid Vayne.
It also ended up winning the game with an insane condemn on the enemys Tristana, mid jump.
I love how Viego is seen in the list of least played champions in pro play
he has 0 pick/ban because he's he's been removed from pro play (for now) due to bugs. he just doesn't exist in the game for the time being. can't pick/ban a champ that's not there
It's funny because the boy was just released
Gwen here
these analogies are on another level
You might surprise, Blitzcrank is a very common pick in PCS last year. Something that you think it's weird is just thing that you doesn't see it often.
wtf I always watch Dong Huap but only now YT recommended this video. I`m even subbed
man, old seraphine was so strong back in the day
Minor mistake: Aurelion Sol was absolutely meta in 2016. Alongside Thaliya. 2016 midlane was all about clearing waves and roaming fast, and A-Sol was absolutely busted at this, due to his W and Q giving him insane waveclear and his E granting him one of the best roaming ability in the game.
I LoVe it when you mention Ryu case while talking about player tilting 🤣🤣
"Old Seraphine" I'm crying. She was my main for so long and now she literally feels like a relic from a decade ago.
What do you mean, Garen's kit isn't meant for pro play??
You should make a video talking about how Rekkles played ad kennen and why it worked out so good for him.
Oh shit I remember Ad kennen. That shit was slippery and had a ton of stuns
Who's Rekkles? Ad kennen is m5 Genja
for update what about: outer towers while have plates have second shooting crystal, plates separate hp from tower, when plates fall reward based on how many remain. Nasus W can use on self for bonus atk & move speed, E + def while in it, pass + 6% ominvamp for each nearby enemy, when an new enemy champ appears nearby for 8 sec will gain 6%*(number of enemy champs) hp from all dmg dealt to them. Yorick add to pass if within 550 of ally tower number of enemies to die near him to raise a grave is reduced to 4/3/2/1 and if a new(8 sec) enemy appears nearby will raise 4 graves. W wall hp 2/3/4/5/6+ 1 per 100 AP, maybe add dmg since has mouths so wall will bite. R +1 mist walker per 100 AP. Tryndamere when a new enemy champ appears gain 20 fury, an for 8 sec increase amount of fury gained from AA.
the fuck are you talkin about
Really appreciate the comparisons
Your analogies are some of the best things to ever come out in the league community
Damn right when I wake up. I wanna go back to sleep.
wake me up
can't wake up
Great analogies. More people need to learn from these.
You can always boil it down to tuning. We’ve seen Tryndamere be picked a lot in pro play after some numbers tuning. If Teemo’s base stats were increased, eventually he’d be picked too
No its just some players realized "tryndamere bad" was just a bad meme.
Its not about just numbers, tryndamere uses them extremely well because of his ultimate and e, teemo has a harder time doing that especially when he doesnt give a whole lot to his team when looking at other champions, nearly all of the time team composition is way more important than one champion having great base stats, teemo gives a lot of intel and area denial which is rarely useful other than that he denies adcs but has a hard time getting in (due to being squishy and not that sticky) while tryndamere is a potential carry and a champion that can deal with adcs especially well (i think what really pushed him into pro play was navori quickblades, i wasnt around that time so i dont know how much spear of shojin affected him)
I remember Hai playing Teemo mid and dominating due to shroom spread through the whole map.
16:50 made me crack up. Literally no counterplay to getting ran down that fast.

I miss the old rune system. It let you build unique builds with creativity. The new runes are cool too but I would like to see a system that combines the old and new systems.
What was different?
@@aleksandarpetrovic5727 they weren't like the small passive abilities they are now. The where just stats. Like every stat in the game, AD, AP, atk speed, MR, Armor, crit, etc, every single stat. And basically you had like 30 slots to use. So you could say use 30 attack speed runes and start the match with a fat attack speed boost. Or maybe you do some AD some Crit and some move speed. You could do any combination of runes to add all kinds of different stat combos. Most people would always take at least 1% crit rune so any champ you play has a small crit chance even at lvl one. You could get much much more unique and creative and try out weird shit. Some where flat amounts some were percentages too.
Wasnt the old rune system pay to win?
@@saviorofs0ng and the worst part was it was usually better to just spend the LP on having a 1% better attack than buying a new champ, and also everyone else already has 3-4% more stats than you at level one because of this, have fun.
