  • Today's unboxing review is for a car we've been wanting to do for a while, the 2017 BMW 640i Gran Coupe. Why have we been so anxious to bring you this review? Because the 6 Series Gran Coupe is drop dead gorgeous. It may even be the most beautiful car the German automaker has built in recent years. Our tester, believe it or not, was actually the so-called "base model." Heck, it even came powered by a divine turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six with 315 hp and 330 lb-ft of torque, with power going to the rear wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission. Not enough power for you? No problem. Try the 650i and its twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 with 445 ponies.
    Back to our car: it came equipped with the optional M Sport Package, Black Kidney Grille, and the M Sport Edition interior package. Grand total for all of this? $87,785. Not cheap but man, this Black Sapphire Metallic/Black Dakota leather 640i Gran Coupe is a real stunner. Enjoy the review!

    Let me tell you... this was an awesome video. Keep the consistency up and you're on the way to being one of the best car reviewers. I prefer guys like you, because I know he. If companies aren't paying you to give biased reviews. I want to see you driving these cars and letting us know what the driving experience is like.

    it is really funny when Mercedes benz fans argue with you about that BMW is copying Mercedes, but actually it is the other way round. BMW came up with the i-drive in 2002 while Mercedes had come up with their command system in 2006. BMW is the leading company in the technology segment.

    • @carbuzzcom
      @carbuzzcom  Před 7 lety +8

      You know something Khaled, all three German automakers (Audi, BMW, Mercedes) copy one another. Shamelessly. So BMW may have the technology thing going, Mercedes, perhaps, the styling, and Audi the high-quality interiors. But through it all, they'll never stop closely monitoring what the others are doing.

    If you care I have a few car suggestions as well lol. The '17 CLS63, Tesla Model S P90, Range Rover Autobiography, & the '17 Panamera. Just a few who's refreshes caught my eye.

      John Petito absolutely false, leather and materials in the 6 is way more premium than that of the E class, which doesn’t even get real leather standard. Mercedes stops at Nappa leather while bmw goes all the way to merino
      Sorry but the 6 series interior is timeless and unbeatable in terms of quality right now

    I don't consider the BMW 640i to be the base model. Personally, just prefer the 3.0L 6-cylinder to the heavier and thirstier V8.

    • @BmwAlfa123
      @BmwAlfa123 Před 6 lety +3

      What??? It's a base model (cheaper version) A car this heavy needs a V8. I6 should not even be an option for a 4100+ lbs car that's considered a luxury car. I6 is for the 3 and 4.

      It drives nice with the I6 turbo engine and comes to live on the sport mode, the car doesn’t feel slow at all, now if you want to race people the v8 twin turbo is a monster but you can also just easily flash the I6 ECU and it’s pretty quick

    Even though I just had a B.M.W. and will follow up by owning another as I do love them I don't think they compare with Porsche, and feel they are not in direct competition with Porsche, I was told that Porsche cars are one of the closest cars to being a race car on the road, I also hear that they are dropping the manufacture of diesel cars. Please feel free to let me know if both cases are right or educate me.

    Nice car but the one thing I find negative about it is that it doesn't have remote start. The rest I have no problem with.

    • @feaqs
      @feaqs Před 6 lety +1

      Some love this feature but I have no desire for remote start...I hate wasting gas...so would never start my car and let it idle for long periods of time. In the winter, I find dressing appropriately and the heated seats/heated steering wheel is enough to bridge the gap until the interior can warm up to a comfortable temp. And in the summer, the days that are insufferable (like 90°-100° temps)...being able to lower the windows using the remote fob...or setting a timed park ventilation using the On Board CPU...is enough to cool down the interior until the AC can bring the temps down to a comfortable range. Perhaps I would feel differently about the summer use of a remote start feature if I lived in the southeast or southwest regions of the continental USA where the southeast's heat and humidity or the southwest's desert heat would make me retract/rethink my opinion. :)

    Are all M6 trunk manual close?

    • @feaqs
      @feaqs Před 6 lety +1

      Yes, the 640/650 GC, M6 GC, and Alpina B6 GC all have manual trunks and the soft-close door option does NOT include the trunk. It is a sore point with many GC owners...but one of the main reasons was an engineering compromise. The GC's rear view camera which is hidden behind the trunk's Roundel is in the exact place the module for trunk's soft-close module would be...so the trade-off for a soft-close trunk and/or power close trunk was sacrificed for the hidden rear view camera. Not sure why all those smart minds did not come up with a way to combine multiple purposes into a single module...but alas, they did not.
