Hey Joey. Just wanted to let you know I have the OEM gaxr manual if you ever need clarification or more detailed info. Also I haven't been able to watch the videos all the way through but I want you to know that there was some revisions done from 2014 on I believe. Different parts than original L1. Thanks for your videos and thanks for sharing
Thanks sir, but tread lightly on calling me Joey, I spent many years trying to get my mom to stop 😭
I want to change the lower seals but I don't know if it is the same process for a 2016 GSXS 750. Maybe this process is the same or what differences are there?
Thank you so much.
Brayan.
Hey Brayan, the manual I have indicates 2006 - 2016, so the procedures should be the same, your fork oil levels should be a bit different. Check Hanyes manuals, sometimes you can get a really good deal on your first manual. I believe I only paid around $26.00 for the manual with discounts.
If you are going to disassemble the forks, do the whole job , the parts are not that expensive, There are options to make your own seal removal tool, instead of buying them, Search on CZcams, I have see many folks make there own tools for cheap. Also check Amazon they have cheap tools for much less than pro models.
Alright. I will look at the website and find out how much oil it requires, someone in a CZcams video said 505 ml I will look up if it is correct and share the information. Thank you so much.
Amazing video. Where did you get your manual from?
Haynes Manual, Order the online version, you can print out the pages and take out to the shop.
Hi, the link for the fork rebuilt kit is actually for a caliper rebuild kit, is it the same? Because i want to change the seals at the bottom while doing the job
Thank you
Hi, no I must have selected the wrong link. Go to my main page, there should be a video
The first link is from the previous video on brakes, Click on the video to the right, that is part 2, thanks
@@JoediyLab I couldn't find it, but it's alright i will keep checking
Thank you for the help and for the detailed video
He’s right, the link attached here is for a different thing, might want to check it out.
Does anyone know how much oil goes in the forks? 2008 gsxr 750
If you have a K8, then you need 418 cc's of oil in each tube. and you need to measure 115 mm "Oil level is measured from the top of the tube with the fork spring removed and the leg fully compressed."
@@JoediyLab it isn't enough to put the correct amount of oil? Why does the oil level needs to be measured?
@@labos2378 this data came right from the Haynes manual. All moving components have tolerances. More than likely another way to verify the forks have enough fluid
Is this the same for a 600?
Depending on the year, fork oil levels will be different. Check the Haynes manual
@@JoediyLab thank you and the special tool how do you make it?? I can’t seem the find it in the hands manual
@@3lvd dial indicator and base are listed in the description of either this video or the other forks video, You can use the links to purchase on Amazon. Thanks
@@JoediyLab thank you sir
Seeing this guy using an impact for this make my anxiety sk6 high in years of me doing this I haven't used an impact not even once guys never used an impact on this type of forks
The impact wrench was only used to loosen the bolt, torque wrench was used to tighten the bolt, Do not make such wild claims.
