  • A quick video of me testing out some Alclad 2 laquers steel and Stainless steel on some plastidipped foam.
    Could not find any information on those 2 combined so i thought i'd make my findings into a video.
    enjoy and hope it helps :)

    Thanks for sharing! What clear coat did you use? I've had trouble with crackling with the alclad brand

    Yo dude another one to try for a shine finish is a black gloss coat and graphite powder amazing shine and works on foam
    Give it a try great results for cheap at a push you can crush pencils in a pestle and mortar just leaves bigger chunks and harder to polish out you can add alclad clear over it

      an online hobby store in the netherlands, just look for "alclad 2 lacquer" its a pretty well known brand and its made in the UK, most hobby stores i have come across carry it as it mainly used for like model cars and airplanes to get a true metal look on plastic pieces. they have alot of different colors

    You need to use the Alclad gloss black primer before applying the base coat. That how you get the effect of the metal.

    try graphite powder, i'm curious how it works with foam.
    it works well on plastics and gets a nice mirror like finish.

    Somewhat unrelated question: didn't you say you were going to test a cheap airbrush? I was really interested in that since I'm trying to get into detailing my props ^^
    Also also, what brand of Plasti Dip are you using? I'm in Belgium, so if I can find a Plasti Dip equivalent locally, I might as well try it. Thank you :)

      Yeah the airbrush is in just didn't get to it yet and didn't want to do the alclads in cheap airbrushes. Brand of dip is from motip, called sprayplast

    On your Bob helmet you put 5 layers of plasidip on top of flexbond?

    • @WaynesWorkshop
      @WaynesWorkshop  Před 5 lety

      Thin layers yes, guess you can say 3 normal layers, I just wanted high shine on the helmet because it helps the metal look
