- This is what happens to your hair after getting a Japanese Ionic Straightening hair perm. I've had this straight hair treatment done to my naturally curly hair for the past 5 years of my life and now that I am growing out my hair, I've decided to share my experience. FYI I didn't specify my hair type in the video (because tbh it's still hard to tell at this point and it's been so long since I've seen my natural hair) but I think I have 2B waves. Thin strand texture, but super thick volume. Also, yes I have some highlights which I got a year after my last perm treatment.

Lol it's a long journey for sure! Olaplex has been working wonders to recover my dry hair.
I have a question, how do I go back to my natural straight hair, I got a perm for volume but they gave me wavy/ curly hair 😭
will it ever go away/how long will it take? and not by growing my hair out? because i got the straight perm like a year ago, but then i did a curl perm like a week ago, and my hair didn’t stay curled. so is the only solution just to grow my hair out for the straight perm to go away?
Thanks for the video! I had JHS once and it lasted for one and a half years (the regrowth was wavy but manageable)..
There is one question that I couldn't find a direct answer to... Is it possible to get wavy hair with JHS? I don't like the hair being pin-straight, so I wonder if its possible to get a wavy perm just by curling it with the flat iron (instead of straight) during the treatment session.. From your experience, do you think that's possible?
That's something I've been wondering myself as well! I think it may be possible with extra steps (i.e., straighten it then add waves)

can you bleach your hair while its straight and it stay straight?
U will damage ur hair so much and most salons will not let you do it cause ur hair will melt off
may i ask which salon you went to? would you recommend it?
I recommend Volution Spa in Yaletown and Muse Hair Salon on Broadway. I've had great experiences at both! :)

It depends on the salon, but mine were around $250-300 CAD per session!
I went to the salon and they charged me 350 USD, was that a fair price?
