As someone who pole dances, she is extremely talented. Her lines are beautiful, she has so much strength, and it all looks effortless which is what you want as a dancer. Everything that I've seen from her has been in the contemporary style of pole dance. She's definitely advanced.

@@bonniegomez5333 That's a really hard question to answer, it's super varied person to person! I started pole with a gymnastics background and learned up to this level a couple of months, someone with a dance background might be faster. Without a transferable skill set I guess it depends on a variety of factors like musicality, fitness level and time commitment. Some studios are also more conservative than others in terms of how quickly you're allowed to try new/harder skills. It's really fun though, you should go for it :)

Picking up on how she maintained character during the pole dance was a fine point and for me, demonstrates how Fka twigs understands performance.
She's been compared to Kate Bush in the way she manages to combine artistic expression through the medium of dance and performance art as well as singing, which is different to just creating a dance routine.

If you know her background, you would know that she was a dancer prior to producing music and songs. She has the ability to leave her audience absolutely mesmerized. Her music is not really pop music - it can't really be tied to a particular genre. She is stylistically one-of-a-kind not to be broken down into mathematical vocal increments. The same can be said for some of my other favorite artists such as Bjork, PJ Harvey and Kate Bush. They all sing with deep projected emotions that penetrate the soul...or in layman's terms, give me goosebumps...and that's all that matters.

When I saw the thumbnail, for a review for this video, I thought the review would be you leaning forward and something moving vigorously under the table haha.

Oh, I so want to see you react to John Mayer live at the Nokia theatre. Preferably the song "In your atmosphere".
I've watched that live so many times, and I just cannot find any flaws whatsoever. And after John had to operate his nodules, his voice hasn't been quite the same. Thank you for your videos, Sam!

Why does it feel like you are very reluctant to compliment her the entire video (on at least two occasions you expounded on the fact that what she was doing wouldn't work in different scenarios and then acknowledged that she wasn't actually in any of those other scenarios but just the scenario that she has created)? I've seen dozens of your videos and I was always struck by your graciousness. Thank you for making these videos and sharing your direct knowledge of your art!

That first part you explained with the holding on to the chest voice up to A flat is what I struggle with the most. I am really into powerful voices but I myself can almost only sing in head voice. Could you maybe do a tutorial on how to hold on to chest voice? Would appreciate that so much!
