What a boss! Sing the way you feel little guy. This is about being confident and happy, not about a specific gender. My friends and I used to belt this while walking home from dance/techno nightclub nights at 4am (we're all butt-ugly dudes lol).

The video of this song pays homage to Robert Palmer's "Addicted to Love" and "Simply Irresistible" videos where Palmer is out front and beautiful women playing instruments are behind him. in her video she's up front and she has beautiful men playing instruments behind her, all dressed in a similar fashion to Palmer's video. Not sure I could crush on a woman much harder than Shania. Simply stunning.

She had a very tragic life, lost her mom & stepfather in 1987 & had to look after her younger siblings. In 1993 she released her first album & the rest, as they say, is history. Some of her hits are "From This Moment On", "That Don't Impress Me Much", ""Your Still The One", "I'm Gonna Getcha Good!", "Forever & For Always" etc.
Come on Over is the best selling album by a solo female artist in history! It is second to the Bodyguard soundtrack overall, but there was features in that album, so Shania has the record for solo artist!

In the 90's she broke and set all the records for female recording artist. Voted the perfect female face by people magazine, performed in Vegas for several years after her peak, and in 2019 she had a big screen debut co-staring in a movie with John Travolta called "Trading Paint". Her life story is compelling. Her dad was native indian, Shania is a girl's name of Native American origin-believed to be Ojibwa-and means “I'm on my way.” She grew up dirt poor in northern Canada. Her parents died in a car crash when she was a teenager forcing her to raise her brothers and sisters. She played and sang in bars as a teen. It's storybook rags to riches stuff, there are a couple of documentaries out there well worth watching. She is a feminist icon. Watch "You Don't Impress Me Much"

In my perspective....at the height of shania's popularity is when country music went pop, country pop. All of us who had been raised on true country, country n western rolled our collective eyes at Shania's crop tops and abs. But we know many, many, many musicians, then and now, used country as a stepping stone to get into main stream of pop music...the must egregious is Taylor Swift.

You should listen," Black eyes Blue tears" she wrote this song about her mom and abusive husband. It's a sad but strong lyric song.

You want to hear a great love song by her, listen to "Still the One" I have my daughter on camera singing this song in a diaper. This singing stuck with her and now she is 25 and sings songs from Hank Williams to Loretta Lynn, from the Carpenters to SWV and En Vogue. And let me tell you singing like En Vogue is hard but she nails their songs every time. Oh yeah, she can sing some Faith Evans too.

She got all kinds of backlash for showing her navel. In 1995. Two years later you can see she was having none of that. Watch the official video, it's very much a parody of the video for Robert Palmer's "Addicted to Love" from a decade earlier, with roles reversed. This outfit here is much like she wore in the second half of that video. Whenever she performs this live, all the women in the audience join into the "Oh OH Oh!" And yeah, she won the Grammy for Best Female Country Vocal Performance.
