Love my CX14H
Gearbox is Top notch period, loved my GX6 for power but tough in the touch category I believe this model has everything I need, ordered the CX14E can’t wait see how it goes.
Wish you offered a discount code. Especially considering the $250 price tag. With most of the other top companies you can find one for 10% and sometimes more.
They last twice as long as a regular paddle.
@@tomvu7880 Still not worth even close to $250
Another pickleball paddle manufacturer claims that to pass USAPA muster raw carbon fiber faces must be polished down or spray painted with a less gritty texture. Polishing the raw carbon fiber face down is evidently more expensive than spraying on additional coating.
The CX14 Ultimate Power paddles have texture grit applied to the faces, which seems at odds with the SST core that is so durable given that the textured grit wears off fairly quickly. Is the texture grit being applied to the faces of the CX14 Ultimate Power paddles to meet USAPA muster in the most economical way rather than polishing the raw carbon fiber faces?
I like everything about the CX14 Ultimate Power paddles except the applied texture grit, which is a dealbreaker for me.
As an ancillary matter, what is the difference between the 3K woven carbon fiber that is on the faces of the CX14 Ultimate Power paddles and the T-700 carbon fiber that is used in their cores?
Thank you.
I have the first CX14 I guess they added grit after that. But, these are not "raw" carbon fiber. They are carbon fiber like other carbon fiber items such as bike frames, that use adhesives to bond them like a solid structure. The newest Gearbox GBX is raw carbon fiber. I don't know which method they use.
It's not a raw carbon fiber that you can just manipulate. It's totally different like a carbon fiber car part. The grit I'm sure is not just sprayed on but somehow heated or something.. I would assume similar to the Selkirk power air and Projects. Raw carbon fiber has been shown with a Joola to break down fairly quick as well. The newer thermoform paddles seem to have delamination issues randomly as they are all made in factories in China. I actually think the applied grit is going to be the future as far as who can perfect the texture to last. If you're going by the internet and people talking, you can't reliably trust that the grit is just going to fall off after a few games.
