    It's good to see a training video where the dog is not already trained. It allows new owners/trainers to learn how to overcome different obstacles.

    Can you provide a short explanation on easy lead. I'm seeing a lot of people say negative things, but I dont see how it's bad if used properly.

    YAWA Q: I’m getting a service dog prospect. The breeder sent videos of the puppies during biosensor training and yellow and gray handled it the worst. Now that they are 6weeks, yellow is confident, people driven, and seems to have a great temperament. Despite performing poorly days 3-16, is he a good pick now that his temperament seems of working quality?

    Hi, A question about keeping Pigeons. Do you allow your dogs to visit the loft? Just wondered if this would encourage them to become to familiar with the birds so may not "point" those pigeons out in the field because they may feel that they are pets so ignore them. I have been thinking of putting a loft up and just looking where to position it. Great videos and really well presented and top quality.

    Oh man, what a happy-looking dog, tail tucked between the legs, as you strap a e collar around her lower belly (which they are not made for).....You may want to rethink you way of training dogs.

    YAWA question- I was wondering if you offer your patrons an opportunity to come out and train with you. I'd 100% be interested in coming out to "help" train. 1-2 days for a novice to come out to watch/learn.

    When you get a low drive dog in for training like this, do you get to a point where you tell the owners -look we have tried and tried but your dog really doesnt like any of this and may not be suited to hunting?

    • @StandingStoneKennels
      @StandingStoneKennels  Před 3 lety +1

    YAWA question. My wife and i adopted a puppy about 3 weeks ago we have a 4year old non hunting dog and the puppy we adopted is about 7 months old. I am wanting to try to train the puppy to hunt. He is of unknown origin but our vet said he thinks Max(the puppy) is a vizsla lab mix. Max seems like he’s had no formal training and I’ve been trying to work with him on basic obedience and trying to build retrieving desire. The issue I’m having is he doesn’t seem to really pay attention to me when I’m trying to do training sessions unless it’s a feeding time session where I’m rewarding him with treats of his meal. He also has pretty low retrieving desire. Any tips tricks or input would be appreciated. Thanks guys!

    That has GOT to be a show setter! Find a nice pet home for this dog. Stop wasting valuable time and effort. At the end of your efforts, you will have an "OK" bird dog - nothing near what a well-bred working setter has to offer, out of the box!

      While I think that maybe they've rushed this dog a bit with the EC, I can guarentee you that this is a way more understandable to the pup than 95% of the other options available. While I am sure there are still a few "Amish Style" trainers around, virtually all modern gun dog trainers use a modern EC because if used properly is the lowest pressure way to communicate with a pup.
