    My bike did this out of the blue last week. And wanted to know what part failed and I understand now from your video, thanks pal! Stood up to petal harder and it didn't catch and the failure was out of the blue. I went forward and smashed my goolies on the handlebars and only just caught myself from going over. My scrote is bruised and went purple! Had to stay in hospital for it.

    Wow! I wonder if I can just use the degreaser without disassembling the whole thing? I thought something broke but it's just debris? Update: After removing the wheel, I sprayed degreaser all into the crevices of the hub. It immediately fixed the problem. Now I just need to let that drain and spray oil into it. I'll grease it up later as I haven't the tools yet.

    Soo, I got one of these freehubs that's having this issue, but mine doesn't have the hex pattern to remove it, any idea how I might get it off? It just has a cylindrical hole all the way through for the solid axle, no super obvious way to remove it.

    i dissasembvled my freehub ocmpletely and reassembled it and the only part i did wrong was to put a little too much grease close to the pulse cause now it is rotating freelyt both ways. will the freehub regain its erection if i spin the wheel a little everyday or id the only option to spray stuff in it or reassmemble it again?

      @tinkerbike2510  Před 3 lety +1

      The bearings being in the freehub is what allows more than 7 speeds. When they used to make 8 spd free wheels the bearings were too far inwards and axles broke often.
