Dear Craigformykids ... indeed, those 60s and 70s songsters and songster-esses in general will never be equalled in terms of what they did for the world !!! We diggeth "THE TEMPS" too !!
I simply adored these handsome men, they all were a force to be reckoned with in their own right. They were always classy, dignified and elegant. They were all extremely talented. However, i loved Paul Williams because he sang deep from the bottom of his soul and he choreographed all of the dance steps for the Temptations. My greatest joy was seeing them perform at the Apollo Theatre, where I would sit in my seat and be completely mesmerized. I am grateful for those days where music had a message. Many thanks to these great men of song for contributing their extraordinary talents and sharing it with the world. i have been deeply enriched by their music.
And the Melvin-ness was the actual founder of the man-group known unto man as "THE TEMPTATIONS". We dig both him and his fellow band members alongside the dear Awesomely Grateful ... for whom we are 'awesomely grateful' as a part of this ever-listening CZcams community.
He does get his due credit everyone says how he’s the best dancer which is very untrue (Paul and David were better) but he knows how to sell it he’s the most popular but by far not the best dancer of the group just puts a lot of effort in it

@@tedbrown25 The Stylistics have said they were HEAVILY influenced by the Temptations. Mr. Russell as great as he is, learned from Eddie. All of these falsetto/tenors are Eddie's sons lol
So much I love about this!! Every time Paul says “up here!” , Eddie’s “higher!”, Blue having the time of his life at 3:09 and Otis coming thru with the “realityyyyyy”
I see why my mom loves there music so much it was the way these 5 men join there voices together to protect hits we all know and love..and Melvin franklin the deep bass
The Temptations first single with Dennis Edwards after David Ruffin got kicked out. Cloud Nine hit #6 on the pop charts & earned Motown their first Grammy award for Best R&B performance
The 5 originals have a place in my heart like they are family. It was like I knew them. I loved them. Very strange. I have never felt that way about any musician, singer or group though I may admire their talent. Some of those moves, so darn cool beyond belief. The 5 originals were like magic. I've never seen anything like them.
The Motown sound will never be equalled. It didn't matter what color your skin was, the Temptations and Supremes and other Motown greats made us forget about race and just enjoy the music. We would hang out and had a portable jam box and would listen to Motown and sing along. Great music.
As much as I prefer the original group, Dennis was the perfect replacement. I love Dennis! His voice has that gruffness and soul that David's also had.
Spring of 1968, I was ten yrs old. Upon arriving home from school, my Mom was already home. She sat the seven of us down to talk to us. She announced to us wash off and change our clothes because we were going to see the Temptations at Western Illinois University. Pandemonium broke out. 50 years later, it still remains the most exciting evening of my life.
Melvin Franklin rest in peace brother! He was my favorite group member to watch he was so animated! The looks on his face and little twist to his choreography and of course the bass made him a true standout!
The song that started Dennis Edwards as their new member & one of their significant lead singers inspired by SLY & THE FAMILY STONE DANCE TO THE MUSIC NORMAN WHITFIELD decided to use the psychedelic soul with the group and it worked it got Motown it's first ever Grammy winner for best vocal performance by a group or duo
Aren't they aesthetically sensational. ? Today is my 🎂🎉 Birthday and they are entertaining 😄😂 me for my blessed birthday. What amazing voice range n voice diversity God gave them.
I am so lucky I was a teen into young adulthood in the 60s-early 70s and got to own these songs for my own. We used to have nights at the dorm that were just Motown nights and dance our hearts out - despite it was already 'a ball of confusion' in the world - we got our inner soul channeled with the Temps, Tops and others.
These dudes really knew how to sing and perform. Whenever I hear their music,it brings me great memories of the 70's. Poppa was a rolling stone is my favorite song. They fused soul and classical music in that song, along with a great guitar riff.
Melvin be groovin like I don't know what!!!!!!! I love his voice and let me not even get on Eddie ~googly eyes~ those two voices were just everything. I would have loved to see them live
Talking about a couple of soul brothers getting down .....Only god knew back in the day it was met for these men to come together the way they did .....To make us happy with good music talking about loving what you do in your life and it was music......I was 7 yrs old when this song came out......
Life sucks when you’ll never see these guys sing live again..the best era for music..period.
i am grateful for the videos
man i could sit and listen to Paul sing all day.
Me too.
Dennis had a great voice, but he was blown right off the stage here by Paul.
David was certainly a voice, but that dangum Dennis Edwards could sayng his tail off too. I'm watching. It's 2020
And I’m watching in 2024.
I know there will never be another David Ruffin, but man, there will never be another Dennis Edwards. May he rest in peace.
Dennis Edwards was an amazing singer!!
Dennis Edwards voice sounds like a Preacher
@@jonathanclary3992 his dad was a pastor!! Lol!!
Great singer. Died recently rip
Keyo Wilson Amen!
Nobody sings like this anymore. All that soul in one band. The best.

Back then you had to have a voice to sing, not like now where computers "color" your voice.
this is harmony this is soul
Singing group not band, the dont play any instruments.

Thejoal Hope he died so long ago my parents weren't even born yet
Idk about Underrated he literally sang lead in a ton of their early stuff
Erich14 exactly. He was pretty much their lead before David came in to replace Elbridge Bryant and even then him and David swapped leads on songs
You got that right Paul was just a good of a singer as David.
May have been better.he was the best Dancer I know that.😎
Melvin rounds them out perfectly. Dennis took them from doo wop to beyond. Paul, so underrated.
They never sang doo-wop and Paul was never underrated, but thanks for playing anyway.
@mikeymutual5489 Probably never heard their early stuff as the Distants huh 🤡?

They were all unique in their own way making the group outstanding!
All I have to say is that they were some talented ass men.
Say it even louder, dear Adam B. Smith ... and then say it a hundred times more.
I love Paul’s articulation.
True professionals, true talent and a real group. When you are depressed look at these videos and your soul changes.
When they introduced themselves at the end they all had wonderful speaking voices too
