      Since installing the cables have you had to go back and tighten any of the connections?

    • @moomtaz1
      @moomtaz1  Před 2 lety +1

      @@lawnman1734 typically not. Especially if it is a span shorter than 10 feet. I have some spans of 50 feet and I haven’t had to tighten. That said, if the post is wood and warps that may lead to some sagging.

    Is the number 12 crimping tool for 3/16” cable?

  • @edwardhill6945
    @edwardhill6945 Před 2 lety +1

    Good job on crimping, many videos show only one being used. Two crimps, with 90* between each are the proper way.
    Yours is one of the only videos to show checking to make sure you have a few threads showing…before you crimp, then discover you’ve wasted cable & a fitting.
    People, save time & aggravation, get a proper cable cutter. Look around, you can buy the hydraulic crimper, with cable cutter for about $5 more than just the crimper.
    Lastly, use duckbill vice grips, or two scraps of hardwood with regular vice grips, so you don’t mark the cable. Jump Outdoors cable resisted twisting, cause he used a smaller hole & drove the fitting into the post, yours might turn easily.

      And to your last point, yea it was a two way consideration. Do I make the hole smaller to resist twisting but make it harder to insert or do I make the hole bigger and get the opposite? I chose the former and I’m glad I did.

    I bought the adjustable end bolts for 4 inch posts. Any reason for using a shorter adjustable bolt for your 4x4 posts ?
