Tyler1 Has Done It Again

- Well -- he’s done it again. Tyler1 reached the top 0.5% of rapid chess players on chess.com this week with a rating of over 1900 ELO.
When you translate that into an official FIDE rating - Tyler might be slowly approaching the level of a Chess Master - less than a year after he first started playing.
Even doubters like Hikaru are acknowledging that Tyler may be part of a transformation of this 1500 year old game that nobody could have predicted…

I would love to see Tyler trash talk chess players irl.
lol imagine him saying league toxic terms to pro chess players
Tyler irl is a nice guy. Being a dick irl, especially otb is a good way to not be allowed to play.

He has trash talked them already 😂 he said "these people have been playing since they were like 3-4 and I've been playing for a few months, if you've been playing for your whole life and you're not grandmaster your life is meaningless" 🤣🤣🤣
T1 would be a top tier athlete on chess boxing

You gotta respect the fact that Tyler say, Tyler do.
yeah, I think that's the very core of it.

Getting Hikaru to say he was wrong is like trying to find alien life

Tyler, a 1915: tf m8
Top 0.5% "beginner level players"
1900 in rapid means he understands tactics. I am 2000 in rapid, my fide rating is 1200
I agree that the statement seems odd but taken in full context I think it’s said more of how Tyler only plays one opening and one game style. He’s definitely an expert at what he does but due to the lack of overall branching I don’t think it’d be right to call him a master at chess as a whole. That’s my personal interpretation of the comment.
@@SozyV2 Hikaru seems very snobbish from the few videos ive seen of his, he made an arrogant statement he would be hard stuck 1400, now hes still calling him a noob basically when its in the top 0.5%.
@SozyV2 so all the high elo onetricks in League are beginners too? 😅
Man Hikaru is coping so hard that T1 has gotten this good this fast
he’s a freak, what he did is not normal im not surprised hikaru didn’t think it was possible
Because T1 is a freak of nature
@@adg9042 Sorry for the wall of text - Is not only that. Chess in most places is now harder to get into in the one hand, because video games have become widely and easily available, and is the easy to go thing for kids, but also what was explained in the video. The tools to improve in chess for those who wish to do so are the best and also easily available for everyone. Most of the time. For example, in League, most people are unable to reach Tyler's level because of ego/arrogance, and blaming others on your mistakes, even if you can't control all matches. That or just because it's easier/faster to one trick or abuse what is OP rather than playing and learning through the fundamentals of the game that can make you good with multiple champions/roles. Abusing strong picks IS still a good thing to do. On chess, you can't blame others for your mistakes, and most of it revolves around the fundamentals, so the potential to improve for someone who wants to do so is much higher. Of course, you have special cases of people who will reach higher highs than others.
how can you say that he is coping? he is not a 2000 rated player who is scared that t1 will achieve his goal so easily while he was trying so hard. he is 3k+ rated (i'm not sure about rapid though, but in blitz at least), he is a super GM (which is more important then online rating), one of the best players rn and have been in there for quite some time.
i'm not glazing or something, it just is a fact, he is an expirienced chess player, who judging by his expirience made an assumption.
as one would say, he litteraly doesn't even care, to be coping
he even talks it down saying its easier today to rank up so just he doesnt have to acknowledge the fact that t1 is sth else...such a pleb
Tyler is literally “don’t give up” human.
The indomitable human spirit.
Tyler using the cow opening to get a 2000 elo is like Takumi using a Corolla to beat 400+ HP cars at uphill. I loved it.

Hikaru can't just admit he is wrong about Tyler1.
he is choosing to instead admit that he was wrong about how much people that didn't grow up playing chess can improve. I would think that is a bigger admission.
He singled out Tyler1 in his doubts so he must single out Tyler1 when he admits he’s wrong
He still hasn't been proven wrong tho. Most people misquote him when he said he will peak at 1500 elo. He said he will peak at 1500 elo and he also said there is a 400 point differential between online rapid and competitions. Nearly everyone conveniently leaves out the second part. T1 would have to get to 2000 elo to prove Hikaru wrong
@@Speedstack799 He already crossed the 400 point differential when he broke 1900. Are you really that bad at math?
@@nobodyharder6575 he also fell back below the 400 differential, he dropped to 1870 after reaching 1900. If he constantly swings in and out of the 1900 rating, that’s called a plateau, which is exactly what Hikaru predicted. Are you really this bad at logic?

In league terms, he's very quickly reaching grandmaster rank despite starting the game for less than a year, using only teemo top lane thats usually used in silver but not in high elo games
Cow opening = Teemo R’s littering every lane
Hikaru once again sounds like a big hater. Even if what he's saying about the improvement tools in the modern age is true, it's funny that only now he mentions it after Tyler proves him wrong. 1900 is still higher than most people will ever get.
Hikaru isnt really wrong if a normal person played chess they would plateau around 1200-1600 range most streamers plateaued at that range as well he no one on earth has put 2000hrs into chess in 10 months like tyler 1
