Follow our worldbuilding progress as we create some compelling NPCs set in the fantasy village of Roost. We will look at 3 of the masters found there and talk about the three layers that I apply to them to create characters that give a strong first impression and a deeper core if the players decide to dig deeper. I try provide a number of ideas to flesh out your fantasy role playing game, be it dungeons and dragons, pathfinder, GURPS or any other amazing system out there!
I also share my concept art and my ideas on map creation and using 3d models to provide a base for environment design.
We are developing a mini campaign set inside a dark and corrupted swamp. Follow our development as we flesh out a diverse and eclectic biosystem made up of a wide range of races, factions, biomes and creatures all with their own storylines that weave a greater tale as the adventurers push ever deeper.
The adventure will be compatible with most fantasy role playing games and table top adventures! - Zábava
Dude your art is such a feast! I really dig the designs you got going here, it really makes this an unique experience by actually seeing the world created. Absolutely need to subscribe and watch your catalogue of videos.
Thanks man:) really glad you are enjoying it and thanks for the sub!!
Loved the characters, loved the art, keep going!
Thankyoooouuu!!!
I want to meet the Whispering Wind now. I'll bring the fish snacks.
Youve have brought the one thing that can soften her cold hard heart. You level up.
Love this!! Keep it up! I’m fully invested in
Awesome! Thank you! Comments like this keep me going:)
1. I like the Thief monk that is trying to say goodbye to all attachments. If he/she shows up first, they can be a heron meditating in a tree with no clothes on, start the social encounter... then have Whispering Wind teleport in and yell at him to put on some flipping pants, that these outsiders are not ready for this "level of enlightenment!" I think that would make a strong first impression of that character. Then he can pick up his yoga mat and use that as his drape. If it's the first heron they meet, the players will not see it as naked (which is it's own type of enlightenment - something they would not have to unlearn).
2. OMG yeah, after I wrote that last part out, I see how that can derail a campaign fast!
3. The Spirits vs Find Familiar - So the familiar that a character has is a Spirit in the shape of a animal bonded to a PC. Can that Familiar understand the spirits? Is that NPC haunted by dead spirits or local Nature spirits?
1. Haha, I love it. Especially if it is the first Heran Folk they meet and have a lengthly conversation, only realising later he was naked. Nice, I may add a few quirky things like that if the DM wants to flesh out the encounters in Roost, if it becomes a hub.
3. Very good point on the familiars. The spirits of the swamp are a bit of both - creatures and people who have died in the swamp and the misery of the place acts as a lodestone, basically trapping these souls (Especially the closer you get to the swamps centre)...The ones the hang around the monastery (Which is on the edge of the swamp) are basically powerful spirits who have escaped the shackles of the misery and instead of passing on, stay around to aid the Monks in freeing more souls (Perhaps family of the souls left behind). Some of these powerful souls inhabit totems to reconnect to the physical world (Much like familiars) so I could definitely see them being able to communicate (Love it, gives the party more ways to uncover lore)
This is awesome! I have been trying to digest and remember everything you are talking about for my own stuff, will need to rewatch I reckon as there are so much information there that I might have missed thinking about certain aspects you mentioned
Thankyou !!
