Follow our worldbuilding progress as we create our first creature boss, a terrifying Blightsoul called "The Hungering Dark". I'll share my design process as I concept out a unique monster. I try provide a number of ideas to flesh out your fantasy role playing game, be it dungeons and dragons, pathfinder, GURPS or any other amazing system out there!
I also share my concept art process and my ideas on map creation and using 3d models to provide a base for environment design.
We are developing a mini campaign set inside a dark and corrupted swamp. Follow our development as we flesh out a diverse and eclectic biosystem made up of a wide range of races, factions, biomes and creatures all with their own storylines that weave a greater tale as the adventurers push ever deeper.
The adventure will be compatible with most fantasy role playing games and table top adventures! - Zábava
Finally got around to watching this one. Awesome, Matt. I can't wait to see how this progresses!
Thanks Dan!
Here is 5:53 am. I should sleep but screw it! it just came out a new video from Matt! 😍
Hahaha, Thanks again:) - but get some sleep!
Can't wait to see what y'all have come up with for the elves!
Hi Heath! I think you will love it, Lena's done an amazing job:)
Blightsoul is such a cool and fitting name for these creatures. They remind me of the robot dinosaurs from Horizon: Zero Dawn. After defeating them the party could use parts of their remains as resources.
Thankyou! I played a bit of Horizon (and have their "Art of..." book) If I remember rightly they had a battery core you could get out of them, so very similar to a soul jar...I was probably subconsciously influenced by that game, I loved their creature designs.
Thank you for your inspo! Lovely to see another kiwi worldbuilder!
Thanks mate! Just checked out your channel and latest video. Fantastic worldbuilding and Lore, really enjoyed it:)
Wow, the art and storytelling are just so on point. It all ties together so well and looks incredible, how could a player not feel attached to the story of something so spectacular! Fantastic work, Matt 👍🏼
Thankyou!! I’ll try lay out a road map so the plot can unfold naturally and draw the players in. Really appreciate the comment:)
Your concepts are so bloody cool and, in this instance, terrifying!
Wooohoo, objective achieved!!
These are so cool! Visually and lore wise! Very cool job as always!
Thanks mate:)
Duuuuude, this is such a hardcore concept! Literally no limit to how creative you can get with these golem-like beasts. Really makes exploring the forest have some sort of dark soul/elden ring vibe.
Yeah, hopefully it can lead to some unique designs and encounters! Getting an Elden Ring vibe is a goal:)
Awesome idea, always love stories like this. It provokes the next thought, who puts them in jars, why?
Thankyou! A yes, you are asking exactly the right questions…
😱😱😱😱👻👻👻
❤
Now I want to witness the construct and birth of one of these blightsouls. Who's making them? How are these parts gathered and brought home? Do they just fall to pieces when vanquished? Is this a construct piloted by an incorporeal undead (like a will-o-the-wisp which would be appropriate for swamp / methane flashes)?
You're asking all the right questions! Hopefully the party will think along the same lines when they defeat this thing:)
