A DIY video under 5 minutes? No long annoying intro? Bless you
Exactly!
Talk about straight to the point and useful! Thanks
Eeeexactly
Thanks so much for uploading this video. Working on this now and its always helpful to see clear tutorials
Thanks for sharing. Love your methods. Simple and easy, and the railings look great
Very well-constructed. I learned a lot from watching your video.
Thank you!
I always use vinyl gutter upside down as the top cap. It protects the wood, looks better and will never rot. It will in most cases snap right on a 2x4 without the use of any screws
awesome
I will be making a spacer like you made for my project. Thanks.
You’re welcome; have fun!
Nice work!
Thanks!
Great video!!! How tall are your handrails ?
The top is at 36”
Nice video. I like the blocking under the deck.
How far apart can/should the posts be?
Usually between 6 and 8 feet max
I have a question for you on your spindles. Did you cut those 45°? On the bottom
I bought them that way and cut the other end to the length I wanted
Waiting on the results
The spindles do you cut them with a bevel ? Or you just cut it with a 45 degree ?
Yep a 45 degree cut does good
You could less like 35 if you like how it looks but 45 is the norm
@@how-toswithaaron16 45 degree cut ? No bevel on the saw right ?
Right. I usually miter
You can usually find them with the angle already cut and then just cut to length
Do you use all treated lumber?
Yes, all treated
Untreated would only last around a year
Is that a 5 inch deck board on top?
Yes
You could use a 2x4 but I like a deck board as a better place to set a drink, and it covers a little more
Interesting, but you're moving your camera around way too fast - I get really dizzy trying to follow. Half the speed would be accurate. Thanks.
Gotcha, thanks!
Handrail or guardrail ?
Either sounds right to me, perhaps you could say guard rail since it’s not going downstairs
Que medida son esos barrotes
1 1/2”
Los llamo 2” deck spindle
Perro esta 1 1/2”
@@how-toswithaaron16 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 ? Gracias 🙏
Good information. but I got dizzy with the camera moving everywhere...you need a tripod...
