    I always use vinyl gutter upside down as the top cap. It protects the wood, looks better and will never rot. It will in most cases snap right on a 2x4 without the use of any screws

    Nice video. I like the blocking under the deck.
    How far apart can/should the posts be?

    I have a question for you on your spindles. Did you cut those 45°? On the bottom

    • @how-toswithaaron16
      @how-toswithaaron16  Před 11 měsíci

      I bought them that way and cut the other end to the length I wanted

    The spindles do you cut them with a bevel ? Or you just cut it with a 45 degree ?

    • @how-toswithaaron16
      @how-toswithaaron16  Před 11 měsíci +1

      Yep a 45 degree cut does good
      You could less like 35 if you like how it looks but 45 is the norm

      @@how-toswithaaron16 45 degree cut ? No bevel on the saw right ?

    • @how-toswithaaron16
      @how-toswithaaron16  Před 11 měsíci +1

      Right. I usually miter
      You can usually find them with the angle already cut and then just cut to length

    Do you use all treated lumber?

    Is that a 5 inch deck board on top?

    • @how-toswithaaron16
      @how-toswithaaron16  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Yes
      You could use a 2x4 but I like a deck board as a better place to set a drink, and it covers a little more

    Interesting, but you're moving your camera around way too fast - I get really dizzy trying to follow. Half the speed would be accurate. Thanks.

    Handrail or guardrail ?

    • @how-toswithaaron16
      @how-toswithaaron16  Před 8 měsíci

      Either sounds right to me, perhaps you could say guard rail since it’s not going downstairs
