17th Paramparik Annual Classical Conference, 2019.
Raga Amrithavarshini on Saraswati Veena by Dr. Jayanthi Kumaresh | Anandamruthakarshini | at Paramparik 2019 with Vidwan Patri Satish Kumar on Mridangam and Pandit Subhankar Banerjee on the tabla
    G.D.Birla Sabhagar. Kolkata. December 1, 2PM-9PM.
Dr. Jayanthi Kumaresh is one unique musician who plays a very unique instrument, the majestic Saraswati Veena. From Royal Albert Hall to the Music Academy of Chennai, she is hailed as the queen of the instrument. Recipient of numerous awards and accolades, her meends and raga vistaar in the long alap section makes her music very accessible to us in the North.
Shri Subhankar Banerjee, has been on our stage many times and needs no introduction. A student of Pandit Swapan Shiv, his has honed his craft with many musicians from many genres over many decades. His improvised sangat and complex time divisions are legendary.
Patri Satish Kumar has worldwide fame for his sensitive and highly reflexive approach to playing Mridangam. Trained by Gurus Sree Ramachandramurthy, V.A.Swami and V. Narasimhan, he has a sound we absolutely love and this evening was his first appearance on our stage.

Paramparik, for 17 years, has remained a unique organization with a unique vision, in the city of joy, a well known name in the Indian Classical music circles - for no-frills music that has mijaz, ragdari, and melody. Founded in 2001 by the Kotali Gharana exponent Ruchira Panda, it started with the famed annual classical conference and then in 2003 the rural education and medical units became functional. Today Paramparik is very well known in the remote villages of Bengal - due to a very successful Grad/Post-Grad Scholarship Program for financially poor students. At the same time, almost all the greats of Hindustani Classical Music have performed on the Paramparik stage.

She should not have trapped Patri when she stopped short of "haradi poojithe shive bhavani" and looked at him. He was already committed to those lines and had to stop. Awkward moment.
