"terminator human skin can age"
producer: found my reason to bring 70 years old Arnold back into the game.
Still enjoyed the movie, anywhere beyond that is downhill.
It’s not artificial skin it’s a normal organic human organism surrounding the android endoskeleton so it’s only logical that the human tissue would age.
@@Ben7seven7 It can't be normal, not exactly. How is it produced?Only way would be to clone whoever was the guy the 101 was modeled after and then brutally remove the skin and do plastic surgery to fix it upon putting it on the t800
@@Ben7seven7 i'll give the franchise credit for being cool and creative but i'm not buying the fact that Skynet was able to figure out time travel and shape-shifting liquid metal machine but not organic tissue immortality :p
please don't take it the wrong way, i'm not saying the franchise is stupid, it's just fun to point out some bug hehe
Uto Resa 519 actually it’s totally possible to grow the organic tissue that it needed around the metal body, no need to rip any fully developed human bodies apart. We are even doing it today with select body parts such as human ears etc. so yeah with sufficient time I believe it’s totally plausible to replicate a similar result to what we see with the terminators. Also keep in mind this is science fiction so even if it might not quite be doable to do so the underlying agreement is it basically human flesh over something else and all organic material ages.
Its incredible that they convinced young Arnold to go to the future to record this scene
they didn't it's just cgi thats not actually him

Terrible writing. No excuse.
You see here's the problem with Genisys, wrong casting for Kyle Reese. In T1 Kyle described how bad the condition of the future war was and then we see here this version of Kyle Reese is so buff like he's been living a good life and got to workout at gym or something lmao
🤣😂
I would assume most soldiers would work out
L0ST S0UL judgement day literally has terminators everywhere they have to be careful and they don’t have much food so I don’t think they would be working out much

L0ST S0UL Nice joke. I don’t think soldiers would work out in a post apocalyptic world full of poverty, death and most of all fucking skynet.
One of Genisys’ strongest moments is recreating the setting of the first movie almost flawlessly and while the CGI isn’t great seeing Old T-800 fight New T-800 is pretty damn good
I still can’t get over one of the punks, though-the mohawk one in particular. His hair style is actually fully spiked all around in Terminator, not in a mohawk. But other than that, the casting for that scene in particular was pretty good, for all of TG’s failings.
Legendly. ! +1
Wtf, the cgi is amazing
it shows how great James Cameron is as a director, the simplest of scenes have a certain feel and attention to detail. You can tell they shot these scenes in very short time and found the cheapest actors they could. Rest of the money went to CGI to get young arnold. They could of skipped this scene altogether and saved the money.
@@ricardorendon9836 The problem is that it's very glossy and doesn't feel real once the fight begins, probably because it's very PG-13 (1:56). There should be blood, not sparks. lol. In Terminator 1 and 2, he didn't cleanly lose skin off his face like this (2:30) - there was blood. The tactile feel is lost. They really emphasized that he's a monstrosity, a machine with living tissue and organs in T1 and that the human body died and started to rot. This T-800's inclusion just feels like a lame fanfic. The T1 T-800 is a horror villain, but they played it like it was a small fight in a Marvel movie. It looks and feels wrong.
I like how you can "feel" these are solid, 800lbs machines tossing each other around.
Sound design is awesome
Haaaa yeahhh
I think it’s the speed they fall and how they don’t bounce
They’re supposed to be closer to 400 pounds. They’re made from steel, not the core of a black hole. I think the later terminator movies went overboard with how heavy and strong the terminators are in action. In T1, Kyle was able to stop a punch from the T-800 by hitting its arm with a pipe.

This scene is one of many that show's how incompetent some of the Hollywood writers are now days. Having 20 years of time to prepare T- 800 arrival and the sniper is not even in position. There really was no reason for this scene other than we want to show a cool robot fight scene, but they should have give us a valid reason why these machines fight.
For example: Show us a scene where Sarah is about to take a shot at T-800 when he approach the three guys, but the gun jammed or something and then Pops has to go to plan B and distract the T-800. Then you would show us the scene where he says: " I've been waiting for you."
It would give us the reason why they fight and it would make the heroes look less incompetent. But maybe this was far too difficult for the writers or director to think.
I Agree to you dude
Very well put.
Some scenes later, they got all ready for the t1000 arrival.... killing him, in 10 minutes.
Some explanation of the material used for the bullet.. what they want to shoot... because, destroy a nuclear battery is not a good idea and explain, why the t800 is reactivated later on, by the t1000.
I loved the movie... but... I think the scenarist take us for idiots.
Don't blame Laeta Kalogridis. She's done some good work (Shutter Island, for example) but I think we can all agree that starting a franchise shouldn't be a reason for a movie to exist. I kind of wish this had been an original Sci-Fi with Arnold so that it could just fail in peace and be forgotten.
The original story had our duo caught up in traffic. Have you ever tried to get up there when there's an event going on at the greek? The scene was deleted and the idea was used later after Sarah and Kyle jump forward in time. Besides which, we're talking about a robot from the future fighting another robot from the future after hanging around for twenty years and you can't suspend your disbelief over an editing discontinuity? Clearly, you don't live anywhere near Hollywood.
*"Okay, Pops, here's the plan: we know precisely when and where the T-800 will arrive. While you're bum-rushing it with a completely ineffectual weapon, I'm gonna run like hell up a few flights of stairs while lugging a 25-pound, .50-cal shoulder-fired anti-rhinoceros cannon, because nothing helps good marksmanship like being all amped-up and panting for breath...did I already mention that it'd be fully disassembled? Hopefully I'll put a bullet or two in it...loading each round singly instead making use of the weapons' 10-round magazine...because who really ever needs to shoot two shots in rapid succession? Anyway, I should be able to take it out before it severely damages you in the midst of a pointless, hand-to-hand donnybrook."*
Makes sense to me.

Say what you want about this movie, It was freaking awesome getting to see 2 T-800s fighting each other.
Right that's what I thought
True
Same
If that's all the movies got going for it, the franchise is dead. We like T1 and T2 for vastly more substantial reasons. Not because "one robot fought the other robot"
You say that, but Pops walked in with a gun that they would know couldn't damage his counterpart... even though in the background Sarah had a gun that could end it in a single shot.
There shouldn't really have been any question about which T-800 would have won that fight without interference. Both were at full capacity physically and came off the production line identical, so the one who had been active for longer and had more opportunity to learn should have a clear advantage.
That's what I would have figured. The exterior skin coating ages, but the machine underneath shouldn't age. But they made it out to be like an old guy fighting the young, prime version of himself, rather than two equally strong clones with different disguises fighting each other.
@@johnwalker1058 They tried to explain it as being active for so long caused his endoskeleton to degrade; that Skynet didn't intend for the T-800 to be so active for so long with maintenance, at the very least. The T1 T-800 was fresh off the line, so to speak.
However, that feels like a very convenient in-universe excuse for contrived writing.
@@KimPossibleShockwave
Okay, makes sense. Still, it does feel rather contrived as you yourself said, since his endoskeleton is machine, and the Terminators seem to be quite durable machines, given how much punishment they can endure through battle. So, I would imagine that unless they are severely damaged enough from a battle, natural wear and tear would do little to affect them and they could last a long time so long as there are parts around to replace and available power sources for them to use to keep themselves running.
@@johnwalker1058 But didnt the old t-800 have to fight other terminators and shit before. Heck since he was reprogrammed in the past, he also at some point fought and lost to the resistance. He was probably damaged and worn with no maintenance given current tech.
@@Vanlifecrisis
I mean I guess, although he probably could get replacement parts for himself. He could just pretend to still be serving Skynet, and get replacement parts from their facilities to repair himself, just not be able to rejuvenate his skin suit.
You know, Jai Courtney really did nail Michael Biehn's blocking perfectly. The only thing that breaks the illusion is that the two of them don't really look at all alike.
The non official explanation is that this Kyle Reese looks slightly different because he's from the Salvation timeline, and thus conditions were different. The problem with that tho aside from not being made clear in the movie, was that Courtney just DOESN'T look like Biehn. Being buff, different haircut, those are excusable. But he just doesn't look like the other guy at all.
🤣🤣🤣
Michael Behin is so good-looking anyone else is gonna be butt ugly by comparison
They should have casted the late Anton Yelchin instead. He always looked like a young Michael Bean which is why he was a great casting choice for Salvation.

I hadnt seen GoT yet when this came out, so I didn’t know Emilia Clarke. I thought she was passable as a young Linda Hamilton. Not a dead ringer by any means, but close enough to be able to suspend disbelief.
The actor for Kyle Reese was just terrible. Didnt look like him and the actor didnt seem to embody the Reese character at all.
Emilia is great but she's not really Sarah Conner. They needed someone more charismatic. Emilia here looks like an office assistant shooting guns. Reese was a poor choice tho. Too buff. They should've picked someone unknown rather than thinking Jai Courtney was on a hot streak which he wasn't.

Have you seen this 1 new terminated it's in alternative time so skynet must have sended it's finest. 1 to complete the work
Range. Most of the shotgun shots in T1 are point-blank, whereas these are from several yards away from a gun that isn't particularly useful at range
@@spygo4513 Except, that T800 isn't from new Skynet. Thats the one from the original timeline that was sent back. The T1000 was from the new Skynet.
Of course this then makes it weird cuz there should be two Kyle Reeses, if we assume the start of Genisys was continuing the Salvation future.
because in t1 that amount of knockback doesnt make any sense knowing how strong and dense terminators are supposed to be given the same movie's own lore. but nobody cared about that in that movie for some crazy reason. its almost as if trying to meet the standards of current day terminator fans is impossible because even when you DO do something more accurate to the source material than the originals, you're STILL wrong because the originals are perfect anyway because i said so. its almost as if that.
This movie did have some good content. The T-800s are like tanks compared to other models like the 1000 and such who prioritize stealth and infiltration. To get to see two of them duke it out hand to hand was just fantastic, and a cool callback to the first movie
"You won't be needing any clothes"
The exact second this movie fell to shit. The intro was so based and got me so pumped up I could hardly stand it. Then I realized Arnold was going to fight Arnold and delete the entire first two films timelines and it was dumb as hell after that with way too many cheesy jokes. The Arnold CGI was awesome though. Makes him look like an actual robot.
Would of been neat if they reprogrammed the captured Arnold and have 2 of them fighting for good. Old and young Arnold terminator.
Goldenface they probably wouldn’t have enough money to keep the young Arnold CGI up. The budget is too low.
Nah...I would imagine that reprogramming a sentient machine that was originally built and programmed by other machines to be monumentally difficult (I doubt machines would comment their lines of programming so that it's easy to find the code you're looking for) and would probably require very specific equipment. Neither the knowledge nor the equipment would exist in the present.
They could find a way to damage the face enough to let a bodybuilder lookalike to get away with some shades and maybe some face prosthetics.
good luck putting it offline long enough to try to reprogram it.
If Terminator Genisys has a sequel then they can have old Arnold Schwarzenegger fighting young Robert Patrick while young Arnold Schwarzenegger getting his clothes and have to help the old Arnold Schwarzenegger along along with Kyle Reese and Sarah Connor(CGI young Linda Hamilton) to defeat T- 1000.
I don't know man, personally I find this terminator movie better than Dark Fate.
Well yeah each one gets worse.
@@user-kt1jf7mk5i lol you're so right
@@lenyahandicapped4436 T3 looks like a masterpiece these days lol
And then when the next terminator movie comes put u gonna say "dark fate wasn't that bad" cuz that's the only thing u people know what to do, hate on it just cuz everyone else does
i doubt there will be a 7th terminator movie
I love how the thumbnail is Arnold getting bopped
You know you are good when they put you to fight with yourself. He must feel really cool about it.
The first movie established that a shotgun blast has enough impact to throw a Terminator off balance, and repeated shots will knock it down briefly.
Also, if you’ve got a gun powerful enough to penetrate right through the metal skeleton, why would you shoot it in the “heart” area? It’s not a human being. Aim for the head, to take out the CPU.
She hit it's power core.
They needed the cpu
1. They needed the CPU
2. She took out the power core...although in salvation they say that its essentially a very small nuclear reactor...so im 90% sure there should have been a nuke going off with that shot
In the first Terminator a shotgun blast was sufficient at close range obviously Kyle Reese knew that which is why the only time he has done that with its back turned being that close to it other times shoot at gas tanks at the face for distraction shooting it in that area probably with a termite tip 50 cal round is perfect to penatrate the combat chasey and collect the CPU for time displacement equipment.
It takes less than five minutes to defeat the terminator here but it takes a whole movie to do it in the original.
I've been waiting for you... on this exact day at this exact location.. but we totally needed a few mins to get set up with the rifle and load some API rounds.
One of the best visual effects ever.
If only Kyle Reese had one of these 3:03
These scenes, juxtaposed with the original terminator highlight the brilliance of the 80s with the emptiness of post-modernity.
Love how the two friends are like screw this I’m out! The third dude is standing there like let’s see what happens with this!😂
That opening scene is like chucking out time at my local pub.
2:58 when i stretch my rsi hand after gaming
I know everyone loves Robert Patrick but I mean Lee Byung-hun did an amazing job being the T-1000. He’s a very well known actor in Korean and is known for action films.
Edit: Also, wasn’t the aged T-800’s hand malfunctioning just then?
00:29 I love how the portal just spits him out. LOL
Just like in the first movie..so by that people start to citicize their ohhhh so favourite movie
The whole movie was fascinating
What is the song name 1:43
Arnold in einem deutschen Interview vor JAHREN: "Die Konkurrenz is immer gegen mi sölbst!" Ach SO hat er das gemeint! :D
The best scene of the Terminator vs Terminator, love how they use the old Terminator movie
This was the first Terminator film I ever watched. At least it wasn't Dark Fate, lol.
I know it's been commented on many times, but Kyle Reese was completely miscast in this film. Michael Biehn played the part as a war-torn, high-strung individual who knows no other life. The new actor didn't understand the character and plays him like an action hero.
Nostalgia. Thank you, man😊

Man they tried to hard to create those T2 vibes and atmosphere in Genisys. Ultimately couldn't but I sincerely applaud their effort.
I love how you can tell the old T800 isn’t as strong as the new one and more susceptible to breaking. I like that detail that shows old Arnold’s endoskeleton is worn from so many years of use
Kyle doesn't seem to be in agony here.
When Michael B arrived in the original, he was basically screaming because his skin was on fire. There was steam drifting from his body, for crying out loud.
Jai here was like "phew, just done fifty push ups!" and not in any pain. At all.
He wasn’t “basically screaming in pain”, he had had the air knocked out of his lungs due to falling from 10ft in the air, onto his side/back, which winded him. It was a combination of shock, lack of oxygen in his lungs, and pain from the fall. You even hear him gasping for breath, and cough due to taking in too much oxygen.
If you read the novel, it explains that before he gets sent back, the TechCom team covers him in a translucent gel in order to stop him from getting any burns. Hence why he looks like he is “shiny”, and has been sweating.
@@jimmyrussel5606 I haven't read the Terminator novel, and although such novels are good for filling in points that the movies missed or didn't have time to include (such as the 'gel' here), they're always often based on on scripts that were out of date or still in writing (such as the infamous Alien novel that had the Xenomorph have eyes, which the Xenomorph/"Kane's Son" had when they were still writing the first iteration of the final script); hence, they're not always reliable.
So, gel makes sense; but, if you've only seen the film, it looks like steam.
Anyway, Kyle is absolutely screaming in pain in the first film, albeit it's more of a rasping cry than an actual scream.
I'm not sure what film you were watching.
