Im a beginner to my new Sony a6000 so this helped so much thank you
You're very much welcome. I'm glad you found it helpful 😌 ☺️
Choosing 16:9 an instead of 3:2 does not “shut off part of the sensor”…..it only crops the photo in-camera, but can be resized to the native/original format I post.
That's true. Thanks for specifying this
Thank you very much. I have a a6000-What would you say the best settings are for product photography?
Hi. I would use the settings here. Make sure it is set to raw. Then I'll shoot aperture mode to adjust the blur. It depends on the situation and the style and look, but I'll use a f stop around 4 to 8 to make sure the product is in focus and the lowest iso posible. Then I'll use a tripod to avoid any shake. At last I would use light to shape the product in the way I like it..
Thanks for the video. Just started recording with my Sony A6000
Cool!! Let me know how it goes :)
Hi! Newbie here. Wanting to get into “in the box” photography with an a6000, what would be the best settings to use for this? My subject is mostly children, so lots of subject movement but camera in one place with a softbox light.
First of all a fast shutter speed as you mention, so you are sure you freeze their fast motion. Depending if you use a flash or a continously light the shutter speed to freeze motion may vary, but for continuous light at least 1/250 to be safe. Then I would go with an aperture around 2.8 - 5 and iso 100-320.
@@johannesbgonzalezthank you so much! 😊
I’m having an issue with my Sony where it is really slow to take pictures. Even if the lighting hasn’t changed and the subject hasn’t moved sometimes it won’t take the photo, no matter what mode it’s on. This makes it really hard to use. Is there a solution to this in settings?
It's really hard to help with out any images of the issue. I'm tempted to say it's the shutter speed that's to high, because that's really the only thing I can see that can control the the time it takes for the camera to finish the photo. But it could also be a malfunction. Does it do this with different lenses? What mode do you shoot in?
thank you❤❤❤❤
Sure, no problem 😊 👌🏼
Hi, what would be the best lens to get great shots of my artwork for prints and to post online. I mostly create 12x12 pieces but get as big as 80x80. Mostly acrylic and sometimes mixed media. Debating if I should just use my iPhone. But I would think getting a great lens to pair with my a6000 can create a better image.
Hey there. I think, you should consider the sigma 16mm 1.4. It is a really good lens well recognised among the apc-sensor community for its sharp image quality. And then it's a wide lens, so it will be easier for you to fit your bigger pieces in the frame.
@@johannesbgonzalez Wow, just looked up the specs and reviews. Thanks for lookin out. Definitely going to choose this one. You saved me some coin too. Right on. 🤙🏽🔥☺️
@@ZebaArmstrong That's great to hear. It has been out for some time, so you might be able to pick it up used for a good deal. I bought mine used too.
Can someone explain to me why my Sony Alpha 6000 automatically stops after 23:30min video? The energy-saving mode is at the highest setting (30min)
Its hard to tell from just this message. But it might be caused by overheating or lack of storage on your memory card. helpguide.sony.net/gbmig/45349331/v1/en/contents/TP0000522858.html
Would this be good for gym photography?
It's not the best low light performer. But if it is just for photography, I think it will be very capable 😌 🙂
Can I use the kit lens for this kind of settings??
Yes. This goes for all kind of lenses
I don't think my a6000 takes very good pictures when there is sun behind subject or much backlighting. Any thoughts on settings?
That's something most cameras can struggle with. Also the lens will impact is. You don't write, what it is that makes you think the photos are bad, so I'll just guess. Shoot raw for more processing data and use the lens cap to try to eliminate sun flowing straight into the barrel. Apart from this is there isn't much you can do other than try to reframe the photo, embrace the softer look you get or try to add contrast in post.
Is there a way to set up the camera to go back and forth between single shot and burst mode quickly without having to go through the menu?
Hi John, you can add the menu to your FN button menu. This way is faster to access. You can assign it to one of the custom buttons or you could use the memory recall option to save settings with or without burst mode on. I have a video about it here: czcams.com/video/VcwcgUMYGPU/video.html
@@johannesbgonzalez Thanks
@@jojoja1947 you're welcome 😊
Can you rename this to “photo” settings. I’m looking for video settings
I have video settings at the end
@@johannesbgonzalez all good, no worries, I was just looking for videos and commented to try and help but if it’s both fair enough.
would this be good for car photograph
Hi there!! This will work great for car photography!!
Question when I have my iso to auto shutter work but when I change it to 100 no shutter
Can you elaborate A bit more? What do you mean by no shutter?
@@johannesbgonzalez yes when I have the iso set to 100 and raw photos it’s says shutter mode can’t work do to raw photo got to be on fine and iso got to be on automatic . So what I have to do to get shutter to work change iso on auto and have fine format
@@Logan-ec1qc that sounds really strange. What if you use aperture or manual mode? Do you get the same error?
@@johannesbgonzalez that what I have to do is keep my iso on auto and on fine formate and I just can change my aperture on the control dial some
I have a6000 but when I choose RAW, I only get 1 mega pixel photos. Is this normal?
No that is not normal.
My camera wont focus anymore,i dont know what happen
Hey brother! I am sorry to hear, you are having issues with your camera. It is a bit hard for me to tell what is wrong from far way. But does any of the other functions work? Like changing the aperture or shutter speed? Make sure you have not changed it to manual focus by accident. Do you have any other lens to test the camera with? Try to take of the lens, and gently wipe the electronic contacts on both the lens and camera to see, if that helps.
