  • The Crochet Floral Beauty Throw is a really neat looking crochet blanket where the yarn changes colour on its own. This means each square can look slightly different.
    I did the tutorial sample in a solid colour as that would work as well. Light on a textured blanket like this can be really awesome. You could also control the colour changes as well.
    I did tweak Round 11 as shown in the tutorial. I'll share it below.

    Thank you for the pattern fix. I made a few squares from the pattern on the back of the yarn label and couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong because they were so rounded. Your video was very helpful for making it square and also clearing up a couple of places I wasn't too sure about!

    Hi Mikey I've just completed square 1 of this gorgeous pattern, I'm not doing any more as I'm going to make this 1 square into a blanket. I used your 2nd option on the 2nd last row and it's worked out wonderfully...you really are a very talented designer and so easy to learn from! Best wishes to you, Dan & Jeanne from myself here in Melbourne, Australia xxoo

    I started this pattern today, and had to come find a tutorial to make sure I was doing it right, LOL! THANK YOU for always providing clear, concise directions (that I have to play over and over again, sometimes at half speed 😆) Your hard work is appreciated!)

    Instead of doing all single crochets on round 11 I did 2 dc, 2 hdc, 11 sc, 2 hdc, 2 dc, and a dc ch3, dc in the corner this squares it off even more 😊

    I wish i had thought to look for video before I started this project! I like your more swuare version but im too far in to switch to that now! I'm brand new to crochet... I made 2 little stuffed animals before this and thats it. I bought the parrot stripe yarn because its pretty and it had this pattern on it but im hqving a good time and am about half way to my first blanket.

    Mikey , thank you this beautiful afghan, my I ask you a question. I don’t like a magic circle , what would the equivalent in chains of a magic circle for this afghan.
    Thank you Mikey and Diva for all you do to make this world a happier place.

    The pattern for “Floral Beauty Throw” as available for download on Yarnspirations is different for round 11 and 12 to lay as a square. Not the same as your changes but I’m finding it to be even more square.

  • @mariacatojomartins1851

    I have been making the slip stitch for years. but I make it a single crochet and chain two then I move to the other back post. it looks great and it doesn’t look so bulky I also do the same thing for the front post after the piece is done you can’t tell that it’s a single crochet and chain two

    @ 7:59 I was hating that post stitch. I hate seeing where things join in patterns. But this totally disappears like you said. I almost stopped watching bc of it too, lol! But, I stayed with you and happy that I did. I love texture in crocheted projects and this sure fits the bill.

    Great tutorial as usual. Just confusing because you reference an original version ... you tweak it ... and yet the current pattern on the Yarnspiration websites has yet another version (april 2021). Sounds like we can just frankenstein this puppy together anyway we want LOL.

    • @TheCrochetCrowd
      @TheCrochetCrowd  Před 3 lety +2

      Mistakes are found and sometimes I see it during filming. Other times, crocheters are contacting Yarnspirations for an update and it's discovered.

    When you use the magic circle you supposed to pull the yarn until the hole is closed. That's the purpose of it, you left it open

      It is a technique after all and up to the user how they want it to look. I thought your statement was a bit controlling and unnecessary. Just sayin'.

    • @karinmoore3716
      @karinmoore3716 Před 3 lety +3

      with 18 DC in the circle it would pucker if I pull it completely closed. I pulled until there was no gap between first and last stitch.

    • @KarenRose73
      @KarenRose73 Před 2 lety +1

      Pretty sure it's all up to the person crocheting...., the purpose is so that you can cinch it to the size you want, dependent on the project. Sometimes I like the hole showing up more, and sometimes, like an infant's hat, I want it as tight as can be.
