Great job. And I allways think that the "old style" Cannondale bikes are better looking than the new ones. They used to be "different", now they are just the same as all the others. And again, great job👍👍👍🇪🇺🇳🇱
Thank you Martin, I feel exactly the same way😄
The chromoly bikes from the 90s are very good, the only thing they miss...😢
I absolutely love this. The use of the mini skulls gave me one of those “Ah shit looky there!” moments, but the custom Headshock cap was the icing on the cake for me. Great video and nice build! 👍✌️
thank you so much, that means a lot to me🤗
Super classy looking bike. I'd have replaced the grip shifters with thumb shifters because I hate grip shifters, but other than that, I'd ride the heck out of that bike. Nice job.
Just incredible attention to detail! Thanks for sharing this amazing build!!
This is a sweet build! Classy colour combo. I like the videography and editing. It's always good to hear the sounds from the assembling of parts etc. 👍👌😎
Beautiful! These “old” Cannondales are very classy.
Thanks a lot👍
Stunning built!😊
Reeeeally enjoyed this! I had my doubts when I saw that crappy old Alivio group, but your choices and changes were perfect. Great job.
Thanks a lot,glad you like it🤗
Nice update!! Love that green, elegant and badass!
Thanks a lot 🤗
Great job. I liked the paint touch up and all the other little details. Makes a big difference.
Thank you, glad you like it🤗
Great stuff! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Craig 🤗
Yeah looks fab. Would definitely steal it now. 😊
I like what you did with the small details, “The devil’s in the details.”
About 30 years ago I did something similar. I bought an old Stumpjumper frame, so old the rear brake bosses were on the bottom of the chainstays. Anyway, I was a welder/fabricator at the time so I took the frame to work, re-aligned the frame, took off all the old bosses, welded new ones on, welded a new rear drop out hanger on, bead blasted & primed it white, did a 3 color fade (from fork to seat stays/chain stays) of fluorescent orange, yellow, red and clear coated it. Built the wheelset, and installed the first gen Grip Shift (at the time it only 3 moving parts vs. Rapid Fire’s 100+), new drivetrain, cassette, bb, and it became my daily driver.
What a fun project.
Unfortunately this was the early 90’s and there was no YT, let alone internet.
Thanks.
Sounds great, I also did some projects long before the INTERNET ....we are OLD 🤣
30 years ago there were no "old" stumpjumper frames with ubrake mounts. There was a 1987 model year and 1988 model year with a 990 mount in the stumpy lineup, the rockhopper had a ubrake until 1990 on the 14.5.
That's it. They were not "old" at the time.
Damn!!!!! You’re extremely talented my friend.. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Amazing job well done!!
Thanks a lot ☺
Fantastic results. I absolutely loved this 👍🏻✌🏻
Thanks mate, appreciate it🤗
Brilliantly done.
Thanks a lot🤗
Beautiful!!!
This bicycle "Cannondale" was reasonably good before work commenced . This makes a great result easier to achieve .
Love it! Cannondales are my favorate bike! Out of the 8 classic 90's-early 2000's bikes I have... None are Cannondales- Yet!
Thanks - A Cannondale is a must in every collection☺
Impressive collection of bicycles...
Thanks 🤗
My 1994 Giant Yukon , black blue is smiling over this .
well done its beautiful
Thanks a lot, glad you like it☺
lmao love the over the top skull motif
Thanks 💀👍
Cool job!
Thanks a lot 👍
Wow is amazing, good job body. Congrats.
Thanks a lot 🤗
The colour really helps, I associate that shade of metallic green with posh British cars.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_racing_green
😁
Exellent job
thanks a lot🤗
4:10 , removing and proper cleaning of cassette and freehub as well as chain a "MUST" .
Good thing you did not like that crankset. It looks like a FC-MC12, which was recalled due to safety concerns
wow i didn't know that 😮, they're going straight into the trash😠 Thanks a lot!
Sweet sweet sweet bike
Thanks a lot 😃👍
Very nice, man! Great job on the bike build and editing. I'm picking up my first vintage MTB tomorrow morning (Stumpjumper M2), so I might make a video of the build some day.
Thanks a lot Fern👍 Have fun with your Stumpjumper!
Awesome! Looks like it had only done less than 500 miles from new!
Thanks you 🤗The speedometer that was on it just showed a little over 300 km😋
Sattelrohr nur mit Schnellklemmer verbauern!
Good job!!! Great.
Wich size are the wheels, 26" ?
Thankyou
Thanks, yes 26"☺
Congratulations mate. From Türkiye with hello. So good videos. Please waiting for more videos. #velofil
Çok teşekkürler👍
Wooohooo…nice! My beloved old CAD 2 is calling. Where did you get theses skull items from? Congrats! Chris
Thanks 🤗 I found them on EBAY, just search for "skull beard beads"💀💀💀
Love watching these rebuild videos and seeing the different way people do things. I'm working on a bike project myself and need to do a little touch up of the paint. Your bike is a similar color to mine, a darker metallic green. Do you remember what brand/color paint you used?
That was a paint repair kit for a special color from BMW, I can't remember what it was called🤔
No worries, I'm sure I'll be able to find something close enough somewhere. Thanks!@@Velofil
Sehr Geil ❤
Danke freut mich☺
Shimano 737 or 738 groupset would have been good . Especially the shifters .
Why wasn't the chain cleaning method shown ? Ultrasonic cleaning is the most popular method . The same for derailleurs and cassettes . This restoration leaves a few questions .
Die Lackausbesserungen sind nicht gut gemacht! Sonst viel Arbeit und ein schönes Ergebnis😂
The skull beads spoil it . Component brand decals look better to preserve some of the bicycle's heritage .
Espectacular!!!?
Muchas gracias👍
Lovely bike....but you lost me on the skull beads.
what product did you use at the beginning of the video to repair the paint?
Just a car scratch repair kit for a BMW
На этом велосипеде вообще ездили?! Он практически в около идеальном состоянии и так.
Я езжу только в хорошую погоду 😂
Why did you put grease on the steer tube never seen that before... Classy frameset and crank though.
That's assembly-grease (Prevents slippage)
nice rebuilt, a bit shocked about the inner tubes & saddle prices.... perhaps u gotta shop cheaper online dude
Thanks a lot 👍, I live in switzerland, everything is expensive here😞
May I know the website or link the shop you bought that bike?
That was on ricardo.ch
@@Velofil ok thx brother
For sale?
No sorry 😉
You bought a bike for the price of the saddle ;)
Billy bonkers for 32 EUR ? how ?
valve caps, 20 euros. Dead..... those will be stolen first. Nice build tho. I like the color scheme.
Thank you very much, unfortunately you are most likely right 😢
I used to leave presta to Schrader valve adpaters on my bike and they would get stolen every single time. Now I just keep it in my bike frame bag.
Lo bien que iba, hasta que la cagó con las calaveras.
¿Qué tienes contra las calaveras?💀🤔
0:53 eu realmente nunca farei isso! tirar adesivos originais de peças antigas....putz
Too few skulls
here are a few more
💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀 😁
My Cannondale got nicked a cuple months ago boohoo
👿 hope you get it back...
No use for big ring anymore it's not the tour da France stick to 2
basically how to thoroughly clean a used bike? I'm 4:00 in and don't see anything special? Ohhh...gosh, new rim tape! out....
Maybe skip the cleaning part and watch the rest of the video where a lot of components getting changed? Useless and clueless comment. Thanks for leaving.
@@christophermiel life is short, friend...and there's LOTS to really do than to fixate on YT videos. :-) Perhaps, someday you will understand. Maybe.
I think a good practice is the one that uses @toastyrides in his bikes wheels, he does maintenance in them.
