- On the local marketplace I found this retro Specialized Rockhopper Comp 1992 Cr-Mo bike with low mileage. It's fully equipped with old-school Shimano Deore LX groupset (3x7 speed). It was already in quite good condition, but I wanted to bring it to perfection and do a deep detailing with some minor parts replacement.

As a bike enthusiast and a collector I will say that you destroyed that frame… under 0 circumstance do you ever dunk a frame underwater… This will lead to rust protruding from the inside, which is not restorable… I hope you treat the inside of the frames that you “restore”
1. After washing, frameset always dries under an infrared heater and remains moisture-free inside. No moisture = no rust. At least in the case after washing.
2. The frame itself is not completely sealed, and moisture can still get inside through technical openings during usage due to atmospheric conditions.
It should be avoided in cleaning but saying it's destroyed is an overstatement, just dry it perfectly and put frame saver
