The Sea Dweller two tone, I recently heard its nickname 'GoldenEye', is the smartest move I can recall made by Rolex in decades. This supermaxed Sub is such a stunning piece in any light, day or night, and it demands and deserve respect by the person wearing it as well as any audience. Once you tried it on, there is simply nothing else, you dress up or down, it just blends in... submariners tends to feel small as watch industry turns towards 42-44mm..... This watch is magic...

Absolutely. And I wanted one so bad. But the ceramic bezel was just so new at the time I settled for reference 16600. To this day…it’s still my favorite watch and gets the most wrist time.
I picked a early submariner two tone over the sea dweller based on the massive price difference and the weight. They look very similar and it's far more comfy on the wrist. The excess depth I can live without as I don't live under the sea :p
A small clarification: the decompression valve of the watch relates to decompression in the decompression chamber not in the sea. The diver may keep his watch in the chamber. A watch without such valve may still be worn in the chamber but the winding crown must be unscrewed which will have similar effect to that of the decompression valve. Great video
No really not much point to get a sea dweller over a sub unless you dive or want the black on black with gold bezel highlights - and for those who picked up every point in video I know there’s a few other subtle differences but not enough to not sound like a watch nerd or knowledgeable

Agreed. The Sea Dweller Rolesor is a killer. Stunning in person and a relatively easy wear for a smallish wrist.

I own the SD43 and it's a fantastic watch but I never understood why they released a two tone version of such a professional tool watch
I purchased the 136660 Rolex Seea Dweller / Deep Sea. It is a work of perfection. Its truly a functional piece of art. I love it
