Great video!! Really gives us incoming graduates 🎓 on what the ground looks like out there. I really can’t wait to get started and gaining some more experience and knowledge. I mean hands on experience. I’m pretty sure the practical experience is totally different from the theoretical aspect of it. Great video. Thanks once again

I’m going to graduate with a degree in finance & business admin but have realized that I don’t want to be stuck behind a computer. I’m thinking of doing this type of work. Any tips on how to get started on this career path? I don’t want to just be a laborer, I want to work my way to be a manager. ( I have tons of experience in landscaping but none in construction).

Hey Oscar what’s up!! Your degree will help you for sure so that’s not a waste. A great way to be involved is to join some local builder groups in your area. NARI and HBA are nationwide and have local groups to join. Also search FB for contractor groups. Become a member, go to all the meetings and soak up as much as you can. Network with builders and find someone you respect. Then you need to bother that person, ask them out to lunch or coffee. Pick their brain learn all you can from them. Offer to help as an intern in any capacity. Work hard and provide value and try to work toward getting a job, even if it’s starting low. Then you can work your way up and learn how the company operates. You can continue to work your way up or you can get to the point where you have a good understanding and go out on your own! Here are a couple videos we did on getting started in construction. Hope this helps man!

@@johngioffrebuildsI’m getting a certificate from my local college in Building trades/ Residential light commercial! Would that benefit me getting into construction management?!

@@calhouncarlos903 man absolutely! Any knowledge is going to help you! Another great thing you can do is join local building and remodeling groups like NARI and HBA. They are national organizations that have local chapters all over the country. They have tons of courses and certifications. Networking with other builders is going to be extremely valuable!
