Installing COLD AIR INTAKE on the B9 AUDI S4! *LOVE IT* (034 Motorsport Carbon Fiber)

- Hey everyone, welcome back to Daily Downshift! We are back to modifying the B9 Audi S4. Today we install a carbon fiber intake system from 034 Motorsport. First of all, this was hands down the easiest modification we have done yet. Secondly, the noise it makes put a huge smile on our faces! The power gains aren't huge but the new sound is 100% worth it. Because the job was so quick we took the opportunity to install the transmission mount insert as well (also from 034 Motorsport). We did notice that the transmission is more snappy as a result. We are getting closer and closer to an epic Audi S4 build! We hope you enjoy!

I really want to hear one of these in person. I've always been a N/A fan and I have had a couple of the Air Intakes before and I love the roar when you accelerate, but not so much the turbo sounds alone. Just got a 2019 S4 and I would imagine it must sound great.
We’re in the exact same boat, I’m coming from a cammed Camaro SS and just got a b9 with the same interior as these guys. Literally ordered my intake right after watching this video 😅

The transmission mount insert allows for less movement which gives you smoother shifts
What you think about the turbo muffler delete? Do u have it installet on your S4?
I got a cold air intake for my first ever turbo car 2010 A5 and it sounded like i had an air dryer in my glove box... because the turbo was so small it spooled at low rpm so it was literally every time i hit the gas it was loud... I liked it, but it got old QUICK... that kit was like $100-200... these kits are over $1k... Im very afraid it will get old QUICK... I bet i could get similar results cutting the stock box maybe change the cone filter... Im debating...

Where did you buy the honeycomb grille for the s4 I have a 2018 s4 b9? I can’t find one anywhere for this exact model.
Carbnlab - it’ll take a while but that’s where I get my stuff
That was risky re using the old bolts. They are Torque to Yield, one time use. Torque Spec + 90° stretch Bolts, They are less than 2$ each. Incase anyone else was going to do this. People have snapped them just getting back to torque spec.

does this intake require a tune to run? did it throw any check engine lights or is it a straight OEM drop in?
No tune or CEL. Straight drop in
Sorry to bug y’all again but I just installed my intake and I was just curious if the intake pipe that goes in the box is friction fit or if it is supposed to move in the box , I was doing some revs and noticed the intake pipe would move with the motor just seeing if you guys experienced this, thanks
Also asking because my air duct is not lining up properly and and can’t seem to fix it got a 1/4 gap where the carbon meets the bumper, just trying to figure out if it’s worth taking it all back out and trying to re fit it

Whats the difference between the carbon fiber and non carbon fiber model? Apart from the big price difference of course.
If I had to guess.. weight, heat absorption and the look factor.
Did you feel any difference with the 034 transmission mount?
I feel like there was a slight difference but it could very well be placebo. Just my honest opinion.

I do not find that to be the case. Absolutely love how the intake livened up the sound of the engine
hey man just curious how is the intakes carbon fiber holding up after over a year of running it? Does it change color at all?

Hasn't changed color
Ceramic coat the intake before installing it. Any carbon fiber bit will turn super green after a few months due to the excessive heat in that engine bay. I have the ECU carbon cover and it turned green now, lesson learned.

With just this intake, everything else stock, do I have to re-map anything with my fuel output?
