    I bought one of the Scag’s last fall. I love it. The Ferris and Billy Goat have a more complicated and limited airflow direction system. To me that’s just more parts to fail. I can also say after using the Scag for a full season I’m glad I went with it. The infinite adjustment side to side makes it easy to clear along buildings and fences by angling the nozzle at a 45 degree angle while driving forward. I also use enclosed trailers so being able to shut the blower off is a huge plus.

      Appreciate you all taking the time to schedule a demo and to get the Scag Windstorm to us so quickly! Now that we've seen how powerful and efficient this machine can be for leaf cleanup, it's time to run some numbers. 😎

    I have the 2022 pro stance I couldn’t find a scag in all of nh but a little trick for the drive handles I did it on my toro proline as well a bungee cord at the base of the handles it pulls the handles together so when you get off the machine the handle doesn’t go up and the blades don’t shut off they stay running I will soon find out what all the hype is about the scaag stance once I get the wind storm I hope it doesn’t make me hate my prostance.

    Well u completely changed my mind I was supposed 2 pick up the x3000 2moro and I called up and backed out of the deal and put a deposit on the windstorm not gonna be in for a 2 weeks. Does the windstorm have a deflector in the nozzle to aim the air flow down at the ground more like the x3000?

    Pretty awesome of the Scag guy to bring both units to you to test out and compare. I feel like that's a statement of how confident Scag is in their machine, although I think I could do a slightly better job pitching a sales pitch on it than he did lol. I bought one last spring, it's a game changer for sure. I think it has a few quirks, but Scag definitely has a great start on a badass blower.

    • @TheLawnCareLifeinMowssouri
      @TheLawnCareLifeinMowssouri  Před 3 lety +1

      Yeah, very thankful they were able to bring BOTH units out to demo. I definitely know which one works best for us and the way we are set up. That’s awesome that you were able to buy one last Spring. A big investment to make, but a whole lot more potential in the leaf cleanup game with one! Anything you would change about yours????

      @@TheLawnCareLifeinMowssouri Big investment for sure, but my thought was it's probably a lifetime investment for my business and my age, and I spent ridiculous hours already with a backpack blower strapped to my back that is was pretty easily justified. 0% financing made it an easy decision too, haha. Two things I'd like to improve on my Windstorm, 1. The cable that controls the up and down on the blower nozzle is finicky. Hard to get the right tension on it that the blower doesn't overpower it and push it down. 2. I've found that the run flats on the front are prone to tear up soft terrain on tight turns. I wonder if regular pneumatic tires wouldn't do that... Other than those 2 things, it's a wicked time saver.

      Thanks man. The BillyGoat definitely has the power. The power is reduced when you start switching different directions tho. But when you have that much power, you may not even notice the difference.

  • @jjreal9910
    @jjreal9910 Před rokem +3

    The Billy Goat Z3000 looked to me way more powerful blowing leaves further, they are not exactly new kids on the block when it comes to leaf blowers either. I get that the control direction right out of the trailer is not as easy to direct than the Scag, but like anything new, it may take some time to master. I was wondering on the Hurrican, if the doors are all closed & throttle down, would that make a big difference cutting down on the blower wind when taking it out of the trailer in low idle? After all, it does have an all door closed setting with the no PTO clutch design. Direct Drive does have advantages over belts, more power & no burnt or worn belts to replace. I have an older Cub Cadet snow thrower, it has the same electric control as the Scag turret, that is a lot of use & heavy wear on one particular part on that machine. I've experienced problems with my turret control and I don't move that control nearly as much as you did, when I watched the video. To me, that part or the motor control to the Scags turret would be prone to breakdowns. Just saying, cause i lived it and Cub Cadet doesn't use that design anymore, but it really looks cool when it works.

    • @deividweiss
      @deividweiss Před rokem

      I have one like this at work and its not very powerful, the biggest problem is the lack of control of the shooter and the no brake. In the video he said that as soon as you open your hand it stops and its not true.

    Hey man did you ever end up getting the windstorm? If so, how does it do on the ramps of your box truck? I've never used a stand on machine on box truck ramps so I'm worried about the steep ramps compared to trailer ramps

      @TheLawnCareLifeinMowssouri  Před 7 měsíci

      No, I didn't end up getting the Windstorm. I think it would do ok though. It's definitely a little steep, but I haven't had any problems loading equipment up into the box truck. You could always demo one and see if it will work for you though. Wish I had better info for you, but it's something that I haven't tried.

      @@TheLawnCareLifeinMowssouri all good bro, we got one and it's a little scary taking it down the ramps the first few times but I know it won't throw me forward or anything. You do have to go up the ramps backwards, if you go straight up the machine will start to lift up in the front. So you go up backwards and just have a guy push on the front of the machine and it's not an issue.
      Hopefully that helps someone researching the same thing I was hahah.

    Hi. I know you meantioned pushing the leaves with a zero turn once the pile gets to big to move with the back pack blowers. When you factor in the cost of either stand on blower and the room an extra machine takes up etc. I wonder if it’s worth it? Having a guy (or two if you can find help) blow the leaves with a back pack blower until they no longer move then pushing the pile with the mower working together can move slot of leaves in a short time The trick is to not pack them too tightly so the loader can suck them up without having to unpack the piles. Sometimes it’s quicker to tarp up the leaves and toss them on a trailer especially if they are going to freeze to your trailer cover night and they won’t come out at the dump. Frozen leaves with pull off when tied up on tarps they won’t when frozen to the trailer bed. Anyway… I’ve learned by being in this business for 25 years (I’m turning 60 this year) that whatever method that works for the situation is best. Having a scag windstorm would be awesome. I just wish it wasn’t so expensive and didn’t sit without being used for most of the season.

    • @TheLawnCareLifeinMowssouri
      @TheLawnCareLifeinMowssouri  Před 2 lety

      Call really good points. Stay tuned for future videos here because I’m about to show you a better way to move those leaves without the big price tag of the standard blower. Let me know what you think of this new piece of equipment coming to our channel. The ideal thing to do would be suck the leaves up as you were pushing them to the leaf vac. Because they are a pain to suck up once they get packed in there. So I’ll be feeding the Billygoat a little at a time this year.
