      Received mine today. Really cool after you hone your technique. Had to watch your video again for the lube spots. UPDATE: Not really impressed after using. Lube often a must.....not as consistent across the board in my various 9 & 40 magazines (Glock, Sig, Beretta). 2nd Update: GOOD NEWS: ETS offered me a $20 credit on the new version ($29 retail now). The redesigned works much better! I can recommend @ the lower price👍🏼.

    I love the ETS magazines and have several, and now they've made the perfect and heavenly magazine loader! I love my Uplula and will still carry it, but I am DEFINITELY buying one of these asap. Loading 20 magazines for an action pistol match takes about half an hour. This will make it go A LOT FASTER, and my fingers won't be leady from handling 300 rounds of ammo...

    • @user-td1zo3tv9p
      @user-td1zo3tv9p Před 6 lety +2

      jjohnston94, yup or, IF they find the alleged Bullet Launcher, they test it and see if the striations match or the imprints on the shell casing base match imperfections from the front of the bolt face.
      Then there was that asinine concept some anti-gun idgits tried to pass whereby they imprinted a unique identifier (serial number) on the tip of the firing pin. While problematic for a typical round firing pin, the flat surface of a Glock style firing pin would be MUCH simpler.
      All that aside, and considering it wasn't a technologically feasible procedure according to gun manufacturer's, that law wasn't passed.
      Yet.
      Not too unlike the Powder Taggants they also wanted to implement but, thankfully, went the way of the wind.
      For now.
      But I suspect it, or some other egregious law or laws WILL be forthcoming in the not too distant future, once again.
      Anti-gun maggots are STILL factions we, as Honest and Law Abiding Gun Owners, must remain aware of and always looking to defeat in the Voting Booths across America! They NEVER give up!
      So, to paraphrase our video host, Sootch (sp?): "Be Strong; Be of Good Character; Live Long and Prosper; Wash Behind your ears and between your nasty Butt Cheeks; Brush your teeth before you Kiss Yo Momma; Be Good to your Dog; and last but NOT LEAST, GOD BLESS AMERICA!" (Sorry, Sootch. The Devil made me do it.)
      Oh, and don't forget: what's with the silly comments about not putting fingerprints on your ammo? Unless you are REALLY an Assassin, need you REALLY be worried about it?!?
      Or should your Wife or Life Partner be reading over your shoulder and making their OWN plans?!? LMAO

    Dang! I've been bragging about my Uplula and then I see this! And to make it even worse (better, I suppose), on the ETS website, the ETSCAM-9-40 is only $29.99.
    The only issue I see is when I buy something like Winchester White Box 115 9mm ammo, it's all loose in the box, so I'd have to use old trays and place the rounds anyway. I think in those scenarios, the Uplula is better, but this gizmo is pretty sweet, too :-)
    Great video; thanks!

    • @user-td1zo3tv9p
      @user-td1zo3tv9p Před 6 lety +2

      Michael Dunne, which brings to mind a question about Styrofoam ammo boxes.
      While it's been quite some time since I've purchased any new factory, ammo (I shoot my reloads almost exclusively), some of it came in styrofoam trays and I seem to recall that, every so often, little pieces of the material, shaped like tiny white balls, would remain attached to the ammo case or projo.
      And when I'd go to wipe them off the styrofoam would stick to my hand or fingers because of static electricity (I'm guessing).
      My point is, this could be a point of concern WRT the pieces of styrofoam following the rounds into the magazine (if you didnt nitice it) and either fouling it up over time or, Heaven Forbid, follow the case up into the chamber of the firearm and causing a jam or otherwise tying up the gun.
      Farfetched, perhaps, but not an unrealistic concern.
      For those who have and use ETS or other clear polymer magazines, you MIGHT be able to see the detritus and take appropriate action (manually empty the mag and remove junk) but you'd likely never know it when using a typical non-see-thru mag.
      Something to consider whether using a Uplula loader or this model or anything other than bare hands, eh?
      Long story about the woes of ammo loaded in styrofoam trays.

      Then he shows the clear polycarbonate twelve round mag, has two rounds sitting there by themselves and a ten round row, he put the ten rounds in the slider, then puts the plunger in to load them, THEN goes back after two more rounds!

    FYI, The Sig P365 magazine has an extreme taper at the top, so the self-centering tabs don't work very well with the P365. From ETS: When you insert the magazine, look down into the feed pocket of the loader where the rounds feed into the magazine. If you see one side of the feed lip of the magazine, but not the other, the mag is off-center. Grip the bottom of the mag and lever it over just a little and it should line right up and the rounds will zip in.

      I have to agree there has to be stress on the feed lips, every handgun mag I use the round has to start under the lips and be pushed back, I've never been able to straight top load my pistol mags like an ar15 mag. I don't understand how this works without damaging the feed lips.

  • @matteedstrom
    @matteedstrom Před 7 lety +5

    Why not fill the loader with 12 or 15 rounds if the mag holds that many?
    The loader has space so you would save more time!

    • @user-td1zo3tv9p
      @user-td1zo3tv9p Před 6 lety +1

      Matte Edström, I'm not an engineer but just looking at the device and the long, grooved "plate" for lack of a better term, there needs to be some of the "plate" to place the pusher device onto which is then, in turn, forced down on top of the other rounds. If there is insufficient material of the plate to fully seat the pusher, I'd think you'd risk it either slipping off and you'll punch yourself in the gut or, if you only managed to engage part of the plate, you might induce a twisting effect and bind up the pusher and/or breaking the plate.
      And should THAT happen as you are pushing rounds into place, you run the risk of impaling yourself.
      So, long story short, I think you would need some excess material for the pusher to fully engage the plate in order to properly feed the rounds into the magazine.
      Just my long-winded $0.02 worth. For what it's worth.

    Hey sootch....that ETS Mag-Loader seems cool, but what is with the wear on the maglips? Even if ETS states no damage, but loading pistol mags basicaly like an AR Mag seems a bit strainfull on the mags und could cause the lips to move appart and cause FTF..........any long term usage info on that?

      I really doubt it pushes the round straight through the lips on the mag. Look at the way the rounds line up compared to the mag when they're in the tool.

    • @gunvlog
      @gunvlog Před 7 lety +1

      look how little space a mag has to insert a round...no way the follower would direct the round in that speed rearward and push the follower down at the same time

    I used to have an uplula. You would think that it means you shoot and finish your range session faster. But my range sessions lasted the same amount of time, I just shot more ammo. This was costing me more money, so I decided just to forgo speed loaders and do the loading manually. The upside is my thumbs are much stronger

      I use commercial boxes with masking tape labels for my reloads. Putting them in the box lets me visually verify that the v primers look correct. The label gives me a way to track quality, and pull any day of production that might tube cause for concern. No Ziploc bags for me.

    I have a Browning Hi-Power, FN509 and a Sig P390. The loader somewhat works in the P390, almost none in the Browning and not at all in the FN. I contacted Fastmag and they pretty much blew me off saying the loader would have to break in. Well, it's hasn't.
