If you watch the whole show with Will.I.Am you will see how his attitude and body language change towards Miriam as the show progresses. He starts off with his body pointed towards Graham and gradually turns and gets closer to Miriam. It's really quite sweet.
Yep..you could tell.how much she amazed him rather than horrifying him 😂😂❤❤
He bloody loved her. Like having a fun grandma@@madmelwood3778
She was "helping" the soldier to finish. She didn't have to enjoy it, she was helping a soldier!
You have to support the troops 😂
All under the auspices of her charity work no doubt..! 😃
She took one for the team :D
Miriam enjoys shocking folks. She lives outside the norms.
U have to do ur bit for the war effort 😂
As a Scot, I think her accent was brilliant! She sounded more Scottish than me 🤣
Yup - middle class Scots, somewhere between Glasgow and Edinburgh.
I believe she was born there.
Pretty wide variation of ascents.
Wheres Rab Nessbit when you need him!
@@Cheepchipsable Strictly in working class Glasgow. It's amazing in how many Scottish dramas, no matter where they're set, the actors have Glasgow accents. Even in Shetland. In that drama, only the character Sandy has anything approximating a Shetland accent.
The comment I was looking for, thanks
The queen is correct, she played professor sprout in Harry Potter
man I'm not familiar with terminology on this channel, for a moment I thought you meant the actual queen
More like Professor Spout, amirite?!
Miriam and Will I Am is just the weirdest and brilliant combination. They seem to have a weird common ground as artists and that’s all that matters to them, they both embrace each other’s oddness and their obvious differences don’t matter a jot. Love them together. As for just Miriam she is exactly what we need in times of difficulty or down times, a sweary, eloquent and devil-may-care attitude to the fore, love her!
Christ, can you imagine her in-charge of the country?
Margoyles for PM! I would certainly vote for her.
For another weird but blissful combo watch Lady Gaga and the late June Brown (Dot from Eastenders )
Miriam would help out a soldier despite her personal proclivities, lol.
She is 1 of a kind.
Scotsman here 👋🏻 Her accent was genuinely impressive.
Her accent is spot on
that scots accent was spot on
Miriam doesn't have a problem with men, its just that she seems to have a preference later in life for women. She sort of says stuff as though she is still interested in men though. She also had a good story about riding her bike and bumping into an American guy in the street once. There was also that story about her nickers and Lawrence Olivier, and the painters. You just have to accept that she is rather unusual and unique. Graham Norton is hands down the best talk show on tv by far. The format, lack of censorship, Graham's whit, research undertaken, types of questions, interaction between celebrities of all different walks of life etc, extended format and lack of forced gags to fill up time make it unique. A lot of the others only get actors or musicians on to sell their latest movie or album and that's all you get. Graham plies them with alcohol and sort of encourages them to let their guards down. There are also no surprise questions in a lot of the other talk shows - they work out exactly what they'll talk about beforehand and the presenter just has to act surprised on the live run. British talk shows have a history of having a lot more substance and another great show in similar tradition used to be Parkinson. It wasn't always about comedic relief though - he also got into a lot of deep and meaningful subjects with celebs, politicians and others as well.
All of the above... and the other thing that makes him, hands down, the best in the business is he knows when to shut up. Witty though he is, he never makes the show about him. If there is chemistry between the guests and they are sparking off each other he lets them get on with it.
Agree 100%
As an Englishman, Miriam makes me so proud! She's a true national treasure!
Really sums up the state of England if you think she's a national treasure
@@Cuz_lufc Opinions are like @ rse holes, eveyones got one and there're not all the same.
This is the woman who wants a slow painful death for people who do not agree with her.
She's Scottish, but I get the same feeling
Actually, I take that back. Born in Oxford but spent entire childhood in Glasgow. Pretty much Scottish, but not technicslly I guess
Her edinburgh accent is perfect , she was schooled in edinburgh , and stayed there in her youth. Alex morris
I remember reading that Miriam's father was a Glaswegian, so it makes sense that she chose a Scottish accent and to do it well is no surprise.
Miriam is an absolute British treasure and we love her ❤❤❤❤
No filter what so ever she's just hilarious .
She is from Oxford but, Miriam's father was a Scottish doctor from Glasgow. Her accent sounded like someone from Edinburgh.
"That's a lottta bum tubes " . I love to see THAT on a T shirt !
Somehow, I don't think that Miriam would be allowed to say any of this on American TV.
She might not dress like it or sound like it but Miriam is such a Punk. She just doesn't give a crap and we could all lean a lot from her. She is absolutely one of our national treasures.
Absolutely - punk is a state of mind, an attitude to life.
Queen Boomer's reaction when Miriam said she creamed in her knickers when meeting Laurence Olivier was priceless! lol
Greg Davies' line after Miriam said she helped out the soldier gets me every time, "Jeeezus Miriam..."
Miriam is a gem, I just want to give her a big hug.
The fecal Jackson Pollack still is his best line. When he’s telling the story to Jody Foster...
Whats lovely about Miriam, is that she has no inhibitions and is honest to the point of it being painful! Doesn't care one bit what she says and is brave with it. Marvellous.
our UK tv is never censored, you can literally say anything after 9pm
King & Queen Boomer would love 'Naked Attraction' - They wouldn't get that on a 'regular' American TV channel 🤣🤣🤣
And show anything , Naked Attraction 🤮🤮🤮
@@misterprecocious2491 - You really have a strange CHOICE of name because; You really are NOT at all VERY precocious in your comment... showing a distinct LACK of ANY maturity whatsoever about the naked body and it's 'bits' - LOL! Just saying 🤣
@@stewedfishproductions7959 The FCC would shut that down within a nanosecond.
@@eclectica1 Very true... 👍America, the land of the free (within reason !)
Miriam's fantastic, and a very gifted actor and voice actor. I like her accent because her diction is so good and she's so easy to understand.
Accent was perfect. All her accents are on point.
She helped him out. She didn’t say she helped herself out.
I'm Scottish and her accent is very good. I loved her series she did with Alan Cumming (hilarious Scottish actor) it was called Lost in Scotland
Her accent was fantastic. From memory she grew up in Scotland for a bit and I think her father was Scottish too.
Glaswegian
Or as Stewart Lee would say, her farther was a scotch. 😂
@@Exor840 You're right she is, but that doesn't change the fact that her Father was Scottish
@@Exor840 Again... never said she was Scottish. Just that her Dad was
This is from her book, though after she finished off the soldier, she turned to see an old university friend on a bench, who asked her if she would do him as well, so she did.
As a Scotsman she was on point with her accent. 👌
Her accents are amazing she can actually do many different accents
Miriam should be a Dame.
She says herself she doesn’t deserve it: I say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, Miriam; you deserve absolutely to be a Dame.
Finger out, folks; get her put forward, please.
Also yeah that show with Alan Cumming was a hoot lol… 😂😂😂
✌️❤️🏴🇬🇧🏳️🌈xxx
Her accent was on point. Really good.
She's a national treasure - she has no inhibitions in what she says whatsoever. And yes, you're right - Miriam was botany professor Pomona Sprout in the Harry Potter movies.
She is not just a national treasure.
She is a worldly treasure. 😆
Miriam is the voice of the Cadbury Caramel Bunny from the 80's adverts. I only found this out recently. I love her.
I KNOW! Had to find the ads on here when I found out, makes sense why she was doing the voice overs back in the day. What a voice. If I could have a sit off with anyone, it would be Miriam.
That bunny was my first love
Her voice, of a cartoon rabbit, maybe have caused many a semi in the youth of the 80's
All my mates at school said that she was a tall blonde and made up all sorts of story's about her but i knew it was Miriam and left them to thier fantasies 🐇😂.
She’s an absolute treasure . So genuine and natural .
Nah, she's an anti-English, anti-British nasty potty-mouthed old lefty hag. Edited to add, that's putting it nicely.
She is a dirty old lady and shouldn't be allowed on television.
Her Scottish accent was brilliant. Sounded a bit like Mrs Doubtfire as well
Her Scots accent is spot on! Sounds exactly like my bunny!
Her accent is very good, her Father was Scottish and also she lived in Glasgow, Scotland with her parents, she loves Scotland very much.
Her accent was spot on. She was brought up here in Scotland, her family were Scottish Jews in Glasgow during the really poor times back in the early 20th century 👍👌
They were jewellers and doctors so they werent personally poor
I think she lived in Annie's land, Glasgow.
@@joealyjim3029 back in those times nobody was particularly well-off unless they were in banking and/or trade. But yeah they wouldn't be in poverty. But not well-off
@@nickfergy1611 not by todays standards but comparatively they would have been. Thats like saying Richard Neville wasnt well because he only earned £5,000 per year, but during his lifetime he was the equivalent of todays billionaires. Im not saying her family was rich to that extent but they were business owners and doctors so they were quite well off, im pretty sure the school she went to was a private school.
@@joealyjim3029 yeah I get what you mean. So they'd probably have been the equivalent of today's middle class, I'm guessing
Miriam is a national treasure
I have read Miriam's book and there's a lot more to her "man in a tree" story that she didn't tell on the show. It's a very funny book called 'This Much Is True'.
Miriam did a series travelling around regional Australia meeting the local communities including indigenous Australians. She became an Australian citizen about 10 years ago.
Yes, we watched those, funny, charming and no filter.
Graham Norton is one of the greatest hosts of all time. He's really good at getting celebrities to spill, and not in a dirty underhanded way. They are happy to share with him and by proxy, us
Can always guarantee an hilarious time with Miriam..very proud of her..absolutely no filter whatsoever a typical British eccentric
Glad to see the Queen here for this very classy lady Miriam 😂
I love when she finishes the story about the soldier in the tree and Adam Lambert says and you told me not to say shit! (She had said to him he shouldn't say that word anymore). It's worth watching the entire episodes of the shows she's on. So many more funny stories!
😂😂😂yep
Miriam is great at most accents. You are correct, she wasn't always a lesbian.
About time! She's the best
May God bless this wonderful woman!!!!❤😂🤣😅👏🙌🙏👌👍🎉
Miriam is an absolute gem
My dirty mind I know, but your motion Queen Boomer when demonstrating pulling out the Mandrake plants had me in stitches. 😂😂
I’m from Glasgow in Scotland & her accent was spot on 10/10 her father was brought up 5/6 miles away from me
As a Scot, her Scottish accent was pretty goood........a nice, grandma type accent is sure to get help on the street..!
Miriam is an absolute hoot!
She did a series travelling around the US - a must if you can get hold of it, pure gold :)
I second this!
@@vilebrequin6923 - I'll give it one too (Ooh! missus... LOL)
She did one around regional Australia too.
her Scottish accent was spot on
Her Scottish accent is really good, sounds just like my mum's, who's a real Scot.
Omg I’ve just come across your video of our FANTABULOUS Miriam ❤ she’s the feckin dogs bollox ❤
Miriam is priceless, and yes her Scottish accent is brilliant.
Miriam could be my favourite human of all-time. LMFAO
She is absolutely quality best of British what a girl
She said about the soldier 'I helped him out'...that doesn't necessarily mean what she may be implying for comic effect...Clever use of words leaves the audience guessing and making up their own minds...Brilliant!
She literally said you've heard of helping hands haven't you? She was being very clear when she insinuated that she wacked him off
@@jackwhitbread4583 I think you might be right...I watched a couple other videos of Miriam and she is a lot more blatant than this video...
Absolutely frickin hilarious! Miriam is such an eloquent sweetie that you simply can’t get angry with her. Loved your reaction & especially the Queen’s expressions. Priceless. Take care both of you & keep reacting 👍
Calling disabled people cripples is enough to get angry about
@@Cuz_lufc don't be so soft
@Cuz_lufc are you sure you're a Leeds fan?? I've never met such a soft fan of my brilliant club.
Her Scot's accent is spot on!
That lady is a national treasure!
Her Scottish accent is fairly good. When she was small she lived in a street a couple of streets away from where I live in the Queen's Park/Govanhill area of Glasgow. She does a series with the actor Alan Cumming where she visited her old street there. Her Scottish accent is perhaps a little posher than the usual Glasgow accent.
Maybe she was doing an Edinburgh accent... isn't it more posh?
Miriam a true British jewel.
As I walk through the Meadows in Edinburgh every day to go to work, I always wonder which tree it was.
There are different strains of Scottish accents, my Mum was Scottish but she never sounded it to me, her family did but when she was audio taped I could hear it
The fun grandma you would worry about leaving the little ones with😂 you got to love her, but you'd have to worry what the stories the kids would hear
With kids the way are sooo sensitive nowadays it might sort them out having a grandma like Miriam
Nowadays they will have heard worse. Miriam is a LEGEND!
You have to watch the episode with Damon, Bonneville and Murray it will be my forever favourite episode you must watch the full episode
She's a national treasure. And she clearly understood that being a lesbian and offering a helping hand aren't mutually exclusive.
her Scottish accent is brilliant she is spot on
I was born in England and it makes me so proud as she is the best person I have ever heard. She is so honest and transparent and is a good story teller. Thank you, I know you will love her.
Yeah you're correct! She was Professor Pomona Sprout that pulled the screaming mandrake from the plant pot
She is an absolute legend and I love her!
Scottish here - Miriam's accent was spot on.
There's a little known show from the BBC that you guys should check out called "Mongrels"... Start at Episode 1 and get ready for some editing!
She has no filter and we love her for it!
She’s brilliant
It doesn't matter how many times I watch the Miriam compilations I always end up in tears of laughter. As you find Miriam's unfiltered attitude hilarious you may also enjoy Jimmy Carr. He is so "unfiltered" that there are people that try to have his shows cancelled, but he always sells out
She is an international treasure..Gawd love her
She's one of the most awesome people on the planet.
She was brought up in the Gorbals in Glasgow, that's why her Scots accent is so good...:)
I only found out a few years ago that Miriam used to voice the female characters in the tv series 'Monkey'
Queen Bee, don't EVER change your voice. You sound wonderful just the way you are.
I love how any American guest sat next to her always looks like they're expecting the show will be sued and they'll be needed to give a witness statement
I dine out way tm on this fact but a friend of mine worked with her in the late 90s, he says she's exactly like she appears to be 😂
That was a very good Scottish accent she done
Her accent was very good.
Impersonation of Maggie Smith is great.
She is amazing……she eats a raw onion every day like an apple…🤣😂🤣😂
It's a pity the one where she was on the show with Stanley Tucci wasn't included on this compilation.
I love Stanley Tucci...he's always good for a fall-off-the-sofa moment. He and Mimi got on so well.
It was, they reacted to the clips with him in the first part of this video in an earlier reaction.
😂😂😂yep xxd
The Meadows is a big public park with lots of trees (it cannot be ever be built on). I work very close to it, lovely area.
The main reason it can't be built on is it's the bottom of a drained loch. In the idiot 60's there was a proposal to put an elevated four-lane highway along the length of it. When they tried to put test piles in they put one on top of the previous one and it too sank to ground level... The same scheme proposed a tunnel under (the granite) Calton Hill and an underground traffic circle under Charlotte Square
(a UNESCO World Heritage site).
Miriam spent her early years living on Allison Street on the south side of Glasgow, hence her ability to get a Scottish accent
I absolutely love Miriam, she is so funny.❤
God bless the bbc and channel 4 no fears keep them in the public sector x
I LOVE Miriam she says it just like it is and she's fabulous!
She’s mischievous. She probably did it because she knew he’d be shocked. And I bet he was. Mission accomplished. And. She created a story that will get her free drinks in any bar. Or free meals in any restaurant... as she doesn’t drink much iirc.
Miriam also voiced the sexy animated bunny in the Cadbury's Caramel advert.
Just found that out myself not long ago. Wow, who knew?
You picked such a great character. Miriam Margolyes is so much fun, she is the best and will lift your spirits to the highest...
She's Grrrreat, we love her too ❤... alot of her work is in voice over so you may know her from Babe, and Babe pig in the city, Mulan the cartoon version, James and the giant peach, as one of the horrible aunties, also Cats and dogs. And played in films like Harry Potter ( professor pomona sprout), Mr fart factory's film End of days too. she was the nurse maid in Leo de Caprio's Romeo and Juliet and Age of Innocence. She also loves a musical... spot her in Steve Martin's little shop of horrors.. say Arrrrhhhhhh.
These are to name but a few.. Good review. 👍🏻
