I'm Moroccan and have been a big fan of English football esp. Liverpool since 1982 where England beat France 3-1 but couldn't handle Germany, in 86 Maradona used his hand and genuis to beat England. in '90, they struggled against Cameroon but moved on. Today, they put in a good fight but France with Deschamps is a very disciplined team.

I'm English and I totally agree with this, even if Kane does score that 2nd penalty I'm not at all convinced we would've gone on to win because France were much more clinical in the final third as clearly demonstrated by the fact we had more chances and only scored 1 pen.
If that were the case we would've gone 2-1 up before Giroud scores, not much to do with subs because again we were playing well and subs perhaps not needed at that point.

That’s it, I’ve been an England fan for over a month now but I just can’t take it anymore. A team of bottle jobs. I’m going to start supporting Scotland who know how to win world cups.
Come on mate, it's not that deep. Other teams have gone through lots of pain too. A lot of our "history of hurt" is genuinely just having too high expectations and setting ourselves up for disappointment. I think we have an amazing team, and when we start becoming regular fixtures in the end stages of tournaments, like Germany in the past, Or Brazil or Italy, and like France now, we'll eventually win. For most of our time, we haven't been that because we haven't been good enough. It's not as if this team is done for. They'll only get better I imagine.

England management team still has to solve weakness in its back line and GK position particularly. Currently both are not up to international standard, as we saw last night, when they played a decent team for the first time in the tournament.
I dont think any England fan really believed they could beat France, Southgate is not an elite manager and has never beaten a top side. If Morrocco can have a manager to mastermind beating Portugal and Croatia have one to beat Brazil, England should be able to find one with the tactical capabilities to allow those England players to reach their potential.

The ref was bad for both sides, though he did give 2 penalties to England. They should really try using two refs at the same time for a more objective view of the game.
