How medal event is judged:
1 heat of 8 athletes in a 20-minute jam session taking as many runs as time permits. Best run counts, based on overall impression ranked 1-8. Judges will rank competitors throughout the contest.

This event is losing a little bit of its spirit every year. The one footed miller flip is such a great example. No reward for that creativity really even though it's clearly a fan favorite. The heart of this event is the fans, and I think we're starting to feel a bit of a disconnect.
100%. Still love the event but also what's with that lip? ... steals the nature from it imo.
Love the event, but it was way too much just big spins and flips. Those goofy body drags and all that messing around is what this was, and IMHO should be, about
@@Ksoism agreed, should be about who can be the most creative and playful with the roller and the knuckle. Nothing was better than the first 2 years they started doing this.
@@trevorhawley1237 Exactly, no lip on a roller, this is what made this event kind of cool imo, it was resort style bombing over a roller to get as much distance air as possible with style. Think I am a dying breed of old gen snowboarding from late 80s -90s and in minority.
Judges do be mental this year
Darcy, Dylan and Zeb keeping it real and true to the knuckle huck spirit. The others out here turning it into big air v2.0... Where were Dusty, Fridge and the other truly Steezy riders? Knuckle huck is losing what made it exciting, fun and unique
Not sure about Dusty but fridge is out recovering from an injury rn
i completely agree. i'm more looking for the stalls and steeze similar to death diving. a half a rotation maybe 1 flip completely laid out. this year was hardly entertaining IMO
happens to everything … evolves past the concept .
so much more exciting when they are in contact with the knuckle in some way

Zeb is everyone's imagination of the real life ssx game character Moby, and he blows our imagination every time.
This might be true for the most part, but the only true SSX trick done that night was by Alito, hands down. Most of the tricks we saw are recreations or reimagined tricks that already exist, Alito literally changed the game with a trick we only ever saw… IN A GAME.
While I agree, this is a wild thing to say when Dylan Alito stomped out a one footed miller flip with the red Uber meter on the screen literally in this video lol
He has style like a person with dementia, looks chaotic and off balance.

Don't get me wrong it was impressive, but seeing Brearley win the competition by using the knuckle as a jump was a bit disappointing. I think the real winners were the ones utilizing the knuckle to do something different

Agreed I think the knuckle huck has lost some meaning, and it may be corny to say but Zeb keeps it fresh
They need to flatten the knuckle if they want people to use it more.

X games rewards high risk, that’s the core of it. Zeb’s antics are funny and everything but simply not quite gnarly enough

Mini big air? Super impressive but cmon knuckle huck needs to be knuckle huck, masekela was on point with that
its the favorite because its the only event that doesnt say "how many times can i flip/spin before landing", you get things like Zeb's first year run where he said "screw the air im gonna penguin slide the whole landing instead", thats the creativity we enjoy, this felt too much like a big air this year
And no Marcus puts sucks cuz he's the king of doing a bunch of spins but even when he does that in knucklehuck he throws is some nollie butters on the knuckle.
Put a 720 spin limit on this event, Would keep it where it needs to be.
The one footed miller flip takes it all day everyday I still go to bed some nights thinking how that didn’t even win him a podium

Dude absolutely shut it down, 🤡 judges didn’t know what they saw. NBD trick and was extremely dangerous. Dude literally did a SSX video game trick and got the shittiest reaction I’ve ever seen, but Marcus spins off the top like a fidget spinner and wins. 🤦🏽
I’m tired of seeing this competition turn into a “how many flips and spins can I do in one trick.”
I like knuckle buck because it’s all about steeze and making a trick your own. Not anymore. It’s poor man’s big air. Steeze and style doesn’t matter anymore.
It sucks too cuz that's on the judges. You shouldn't be giving points for people using it as big air
But for arguments sake, Alito threw a huge air trick but was more creative and unique than anything else we saw tonight but the judges reacted like they saw a normal basic trick.

I "love" how Zeb is on the thumbnail image even though he got silver. I don't think Zeb's runs were that dope this year. That one foot miller flip was def the best.
I mean it’s just because he has been getting so much traction lately, if he would of landed the 4 run I think he would of had the gold

Go ride down a mountain at 25-30mph with ONE foot in ur binding, then while maintaining that speed with one foot (mind you, if you slip off at that speed say goodbye to your groin and possibly your ACL/MCL and knee socket) fly off the knuckle and do a tweaked 1 footed backflip that looked like it was literally a copy and paste from SSX video game. Go CZcams that trick and see how many results come up, go CZcams some spins and rotation and see how many come up. KNUCKLE HUCK IS ABOUT CREATIVITY AND THERES NOTHING MORE CREATIVE THAN A NBD TRICK. 🤡 judges 🤡 event now.

just because something has a bunch of spins (and increased difficulty) doesnt mean its lacking style, but if all it is is a whole bunch of spins by using the knuckle as a jump, and not as a knuckle the way its supposed to be used, then yea, i agree.
while sure zebs trick are creative, at times they arent exactly...the most stylish, by any stretch of margin, as he has a very sketchy riding style.
it sort of looks like he has no control, even when he actually is in full control, which isnt a good thing when were talking a competition based on style.

great comp but it's a little weird that the winner only used the knuckle once and then proceed to use it as a jump and do big air tricks.....that was missing so much creativity....maybe next year...

So much amplitude.....but sometimes his style is to outta whack. Lots of gymnastics and no grabs. Don't get me wrong......I couldn't do it, but that's the beauty of snowboarding.....it doesn't matter

congrats to liam, was the most consistent with the harder moves. If zeb had landed his last few rounds then he wouldve gotten gold forsure, that last round from zeb was dope!

I feel like it could be good to have viewers/spectators be able to vote and impact the score somehow.
Usually Knuckle is the best event but this year too many dudes treating it like big air. Still fun but not at much creativity as the last few years.
Knuckle huck means you use the knuckle to show your creativity. Its not a big air contest. That dude Liam's tricks were very impressive, but it technically wasn't what the event was all about.

I think they should split this event. One where you have to touch the knucke with hands, body or board.
And then a another contest where you just jump and are only allowed to spin max 720 and more focus on grabs and tweakes.
Or similar to big air where you have to spin left and right. So in Knuckle huck you once have to touch the knuckle midair.
Because i also enjoy watching stuff that Winkelmann does but its the wrong contest imo
