    I found snowboarding again at age 44. I used to ride in the mid 1990s when boards where just gaining popularity. Now I have young kids that I have taught to snowboard. It's been a blast. Your videos have taught me a lot of basic foundation skills that have made a better rider than I was in my teens and early 20s. Thanks.

    As a skateboarder I was olle’ing of almost everything on snowboard and was struggling with keeping balance steady on take offs and mid air. Once focused on popping of both feet on jumps balance and overall calmness improved a lot. Took a while to get used to taking of both feet and feel natural. Skateboarding helps a lot with 🏂 basics etc but on the other hand have to break few skate habits throughout the process

    • @VxItachixV
      @VxItachixV Před 3 měsíci +1

      I definitely agree. I was able to progress really fast in snowboarding thanks to skateboarding but I started trying side hits on my 3rd snowboarding trip and terrain jumps on my 4th snowboarding trip. I got ollies down pretty good by my 4th trip and starting trying them off of jumps which is a big nono. I learned pretty quickly that you want to do a stable pop and this video helped me confirm it haha.

Knocked the wind out of me and I thought I came really, really close to breaking my back. That was last Saturday and I'm still feeling stiff/sore. I was wearing a half-full backpack and it was my 3rd run of the day so to keep going, I ditched the backpack and finished the day and I was surprised to find that my balance was a lot better. I'm thinking of never wearing a backpack ever again as I never see you with one on.

    Hey Tommie, what's good! I finally started learning how to do jumps last week (18-08-23) took me some time to get over the fear threshold but I finally did. I started just riding over them until I finally started catching some air. throughout the weekend I got a little too comfortable and decided to hit a second consecutive jump and I picked up way to much speed off the first one and as I tried to brake check it was to late and I panicked and completely overshot the jump and landed on my back. Got a bruised kidney and a fractured rib. definitely my fault as I got a little to hungry to improve to quickly. I managed to get one jump recorded and I noticed my back leg was higher than my front so my board was on an angle in mid air so the front end of the board made contact with the snow first and I was very wobbly in mid air (hands were flapping everywhere) what are some tips to correct your body positioning in mid air? at least if I'm going to fall id rather the board hit the snow first or am I overthinking it to much? definitely keen to keep trying! all your vids have so far helped me improve at a rapid rate so thank you!

    Question: the belly button tip of keeping it over the center of the board makes sense but as the angle of a jump starts increasing and you start leaning back. Should I be leaning forward into it to keep my belly button above the center or should I be standing athletically “straight” up?
    My biggest issue is landing tail first off of jumps and I don’t know why.

    • @winterzahn
      @winterzahn Před 3 lety +2

      jumps with steeper upwards takeoffs and steep dowhill landings need during popping off a noticeable forward momentum. So I ride stacked into those ramps and apply at about a snowboard length before takeoff from the lip a small forward shift, so also my center and belly button shifts a bit forward rear leg extends / pops more off the lip then.
      I only can say, jumps in different parks, beside having same classification, can be totally different from jump and feel
      steep takeoffs and landings need more forward pop off.
      normal drops and jumps with mellow takeoff and landings need almost zero forward momentum
      I noticed that especially backside 180 need even a bit more forward momentum on takeoff than straight jumps.
      so popping upper body into jump, that feels really odd, but that removed my super tailheavy Backside 180 landings

    • @MW-qr8bu
      @MW-qr8bu Před 3 lety +1
