    Re: offsets, not pockets.
That's not always practical but I've found iI can hog out brass by usung a pattern of circles, or small rectangles that overlap and by letting Shaper helix them out to depth. It's time consuming to design but faster to cut and doesn't break expensive bits. it's also a heck of a lot easier to hold the tool still than it is to move it slowly for the amount of time required to make several offset passes and several depth passes.
I use small rectangles if I need to follow a line in my design and circles when I want the engine turned pattern they produce.
I've also found that, when I wanted to leave pivot posts in a pocketted out space, I could helix around them with equal ease.
But if you don't have an unlimited supply of o-flute bits, don't pocket cut in brass.

Poll: As a furniture school we come under the banner of business, but most of our students are hobbyists so I'll leave it up to you to decide where we fit.

The base of my Origin is pretty gouged up from a piece of gummy aluminum that I cut with it.

Poll: Hobbyist, soon to be a retired grandfather. Looking to make items for the family. Right now, looking to do epoxy inlay work, with RGB LED backlighting. The feature I would like to see added is a polygon tool in the design tool. I would love to be able to do hexagons.

360 Brass is 3% lead. Any special techniques to ensure that lead dust stays out of the workshop?

And how about this. I want to cut glossy paper. It's only 1mm thick. Say I want to do perforation. Would you have a similar attachment for this?
