We remove the engine out the Datsun! Why do you ask? Its because we begin the process of building the carbon floors. In order to start doing any of that Tim has to build his trans tunnel and in-order to accomplish this he needed to remove his engine for more space
In addition to building out the floors/trans-tunnel, we cut the rear quarter panels to test fit the Carbon Fiber skins up to the car. Now, remember this is a test fitment to see what adjustments need to be made next. So when all is said and done we will align the body panels so all body lines are in sync.
If you so happen to enjoy this build please subscribe for more updates. I release weekly updates every Thursday @ 4:00pm EST
Thanks for watching and see you again next week!

Torille? Or just couple beers?
namelessvids Hell yeah, Sovjet Finland!
@@StreetBandito And what do U do? LoL
The production value from episode 1 to now is phenomenal. Keep it up
48 years old?! Wow! This is such a timeless body style.
More video's Please! A datsun is still on my future car list amazing looking car, and this project is insane!
Man...just found your channel. Watched 3 episodes of your carbon work. You just earned a new subscriber! Amazing work thusfar...now for the rest of the series :P
your definitely about to blow up bro! Your videos are crazy good, cant wait to see you at the top
Again, making everything look so easy. Besides that, that place is huge! Luxury garage is what it should be called. Or Heavenly Garage.
Amazing. Lucky guys. Can understand why you are always in such a fresh vibe when making these videos cause the action is da bomb.
Maybe you didn't notice but this "luxury garage" has a roof leak that leaked water on the car. Otherwise nice car. Not into the s2000 motor. It's not a bad little engine but you have to rev the little buzzbomb to a "million" rpms to get any power out of it. Torque is not a dirty word.
Killer build. And you are doing a good job on the videos. It's all good!
Nice to see youre work step by step and HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRO!!!!!!!🤗🤗🤗
Everything about that car looks so good!! The narative is super smooth and relaxing as well! Now I just have to back to watch the previous episodes.
Happy Birthday Yo! Keep it up! Carbon panels are starting to look mega legit
Up guys own honestly the best channel I've seen for a while, keep it up the best is yet to come 👌🏽👊🏽👊🏽
I love this channel!!! Happy birthday day dude!!!
that carbon looks so good on the car. As always great work on both the carbon fiber parts and the camera skills and editing.
I just subbed this morning thought i was going to have to wait for ever for more of this eyeball food!
Keepin it real man. Lovin it. Keep the updates comin 😋. Happy bday man!!!!
Keep up the good work dude.. And happy birthday!!!
Awesome work fellas !!!!!
Thoroughly enjoying this build. Brilliant car and modern materials is a win. Lovely camera work too.
The sickest 240z build ever. damn i cant wait to see thing at H20i
soooo pro!! keep it up!
Really gnarly build, guy is super talented too, and great footage/editing.
This is sooooooo cool! Have thought about how people carbon fiber convert "regular" cars but never seen an video. Awesome! SUBBED!
Happy bday brotha! Congrats on leveling up, subbed for sure. Love the datsuns!
Correct me if I am wrong. Since the carbon panels were made by laying on top of the original panel... The entire car is like 3-4 mm larger? How did all the gaps stay manageable? Absolutely sick build, great camera work.
spankjelly The Car would just grow a tiny amount like 2mm but gaps can all be sanded and gapped on each panel to get a consistent 3mm gap between doors and the quarter panel etc
Just found this channel ! You guys do slick work I’m subbed and watching !!
What a way to spend a birthday-- Knee deep in Datsun :-)
Just watched a few episodes not knowing what motor you went with for this build. When I seen the f series motor in there I instantly fell in love!
Sheeesh, cool stuff! Cheers from Russia!~
Love the filming! What camera you use?
awesome, how are you stabilizing your handheld footage? great work btw
Lookin gooit. Happy B day from T City washington
cant wait to c it drift!
There you go my brothers😎
Why don't you have more subs your camera work is amazing
Been following this build, seriously insane work. Would love if you started producing some carbon 240z parts. I have a 71 thats getting a 4.8 LS with some serious boost
This is inspiring me to work on my 260z
Love the videos, but could y'all go over the whole plan for the Datsun ?
Dope channel just got a new sub
Hey Tim I did a bandito skin job on my 240Z dash , to put in my 280. It pulled off in one peice , like I thought it would ( because the stock dash was vacuum formed from the manufacturer ), but Im going to vacuum bag red/black carbon/ kevlar over the fiber glass
To get the look I wanted. But this is to let you and others here know it will pop off in one complete part No two or multi part mold needed!!
Muito top o progeto
excelente trabajo ...
best thing that could happen to the ole girl. Yanking that damned Honda crap out of the Datsun. Made me smile
Whats all the hate for the motor choice. You all must move on and build the car YOU want. Not what other people want. Both my Z cars have mild L28 but thats just me.Its expensive to get over 200hp out of them. Its very easy to see why a different motor that already has over 200 hp to start is a smart choice. Now if thats in a small shorter package motor that will take the understeer out of the nose
Even better.
I do suggest to send them the motor of your choice with a matching gearbox , for them to keep as a future option if all else fails.
Most reliable engine company on the planet even thier motorcycles are the longest lasting iv been building cafe and bobbers out of Honda/Suzuki bikes for 25 years
I plan on doing some of this stuff to my 79 pinto
Happy Belated BDay!
sweet build subbed thing is going to be sick when its done
this is the sickest thing ive ever seen!!! and its not even done yet lmao
Happy bday enjoy
all the best bday wishes from berlin city
After watching you guys do this carbon fiber I'm almost willing to do the same and get rid of the fiber glass
When you took the engine out on the lift all I was thinking is, I hope to god the back of the car isn't too heavy and it pivots and falls!
Looking real good. How are you guys going to fasten the carbon parts to the frame?
Street Bandito yeah, I've seen that. And that was why I asked. I was thinking about the alignment since the door sides are fastened at the original place, but the fenders and everything will be on top of the OEM panels.
Happy B'day
what are you using to glue the carbon to the steel frame?
BTW. this channel is one of the best I have subed to. keep it up
is it Norton, 63642504616? thanks
Worried about you dude, cutting metal with no eye protection! Found you from the FE40 project (awesome) and now binging this project to catch up. I will be working on my daughters kitchen in Silver Spring in June…do you allow visitors? I would love to see your work!
this will also work to make fiberglass body parts as well correct?
where did you buy the carbon skins/ quarters?
He could try felt for sound dampening in the wheel wells
high af in the end lol
Nice
*Where in the US can you find a program that teaches you how to do what you guys are doing?*
Hey guz, Great series! Good luck and keep posting! I'm sure this question been asked bfroe but anyways why you putting Honda in Datsun? Nissan has great engines to start with.
So is the quarter panel you made slightly bigger than factory as its just a mould of the ourside skin ? Thanks
I wanna know, Did you use the body as the mold? And what did you use as a mold release?
Have you guys done a hatch by chance
YESS
How did you pop the carbon panel off the quarter
Wait, so you guys used the actual quarter panel as the mold for CF fender? Just lay CF over it, remove, then reinforce with additional sheets?
Goddamn that guy at 3:56 and on, grabbing and moving his bare hands so close to the freshly cut aluminum made me clench hard. Buy that man a pair of mechanix!
Other than that lovely project you have there, a lot of love being put on as such beauty deserves. You gained a new sub, regards from Spain!
That's mild steel...
what camera setup are you using here?
So how many layers total did you do for the shell?
Maryland!!!!
that going too look fucking sick nice work
until it sits in the sun for some time. Carbon is cool looking for a while. Then it gets old and delaminates eventually. Now I know with that being said we have come a long way with our composites in the last ten years. As there has been a boom in the Carbon bike market and the tech is getting better and better. Now when it does finnally come time to recycle anything carbon its a bitch. Unlike its metal counterparts you can't really just melt down carbon and make new like metal. This car will look good just try and save it from the sun and park it in the shade.
+Street Bandito great respons time! consider me subbed. Love the build keep it up. I bet it RIPS!
Man you keep calling things by the wrong name like a quarter panel is not a flare!!! So far in all the episodes youve done it.
Wait so did he make a mold or did he just put carbon on the rear quarter and it fit?
I'm working on putting a twin turbo vort tech v6 engine and trans in her with the all the computer mods
Are the body panels single layer?
cada vez que veo al negrito...lo adelanto! pura farandula!
I'd really really like to rep street bandito stuff where can I get some merch?
alright sounds good omw to buy me some merch keep up the good work I enjoy the videos a lot
What color grey/green is that on the Z?! Highly considering that color on my 260z when it's ready. Also, great content dude! The quality and editing is amazing. Tim's craftsmanship is top notch too. This car is going to be so rad. Channel is gonna blow up for sure.
Yes it’s Ferrari Grigio medio
Thanks man! Keep up the great work!
Where'd you get all them carbon fiber parts from? What's the website?
at what shop is this?
Love the car alot but me as a Nissan and Datsun fan just can't take the idea of a S2000 motor being up into it, he needs to get a SR20 or a RB20 or 25, something like that because it just feel like I saw something I shouldn't have. Hope he does change the engine but I am new to the channel and all so hope to see some more great builds, Happy B-day man.
Street Bandito
If basically free than I guess you work with what you got but as far as the S2000 engine being great, I know that for sure, a bigger 4 banger making about 235ish HP is damn good and the engine is reliable too just you know new to the channel so their are some thing I don't know about the build and it just hurts a little to see a Honda engine go into a bad ass Datsun.
Yeah, you can't beat the sound and smoothness of a six, but good to see a Z being rebuilt anyway, and maybe one day it'll get a proper engine.
F20c is a far better piece of engineering than any rb. Now jz would be a different story
Love the car the channel BUT.. just not down with a f20 in a classic datsun.. agree with the comment about a sr or an rb or even a v series engine would suit the cars personality.. not knocking the f20 one bit. No denying it’s an amazing engine but gotta keep it pure!! Either way keep it up.
I agree, Honda in a 240z not cool. Different but not cool. Put a new generation skyline motor be bad ass. Out of budget I'm sure but be bad ass. At least a 4g63 be better
hes using the grinder wrong, thats why hes having such a hard time cutting that panel off. Everything else looks amazing though!
My grandpal used to have a 240z with a super charged corvette motor and side pipes on it when i was little in the mid 80s. The front would come up off the ground a little when you would mash on it. It was so mean. My uncle wrecked it. Well he didnt but he had it at his girls house parked out front and someone smashed into the back and totaled it while it was parked.
He had a picture of him standing behind it with a rag acting like he was crying lol
Is there more footage you took of Tim cutting out the quarter panels? That you hadn't shown us on U Tube? [ Still waiting for Tim to reply to my sent IG to him. ] (I really don't need to cut out the whole quarter panel cause the lower portion an area is blistering of undersurface rusting. This is why I'm choosing on cutting out the whole quarters on the car, as Tim di here.) This is why I'd like to show Tim pics of my car, and since he does this work for a living, I want to get his opinion, to resolve the problem I'm faced with.
how much does the car weight?
Where is this shop? I have an E60 5 series I would like some carbon fiber on. Nobody has pre made pieces.
What sweatshirt you got on?
Whats the name of the business or website so I can price out the carbon fiber body panels?
Why not just make the fender flares as wide as the tires?
What rims are those ???
Can you tell us why Vtec? Why not rb engines
More work up front , but wouldn't it be better to make reverse molds off the car and pop part panels from them.
A- to have something to go back to if a panel needs replacing.
B- you could sell carbon panels on and recoup the labor costs.
what supplier do you guys use for your carbon. Im looking to do a little carbon work to my 84 volvo 242, any point in the right direction for a quality carbon fiber supplier would be greatly appreciated, Thanks, Dan. Subd btw great work !
oh didnt see that thank you !!
Crap i accidently deleted my comment😂 so i will do again:
Nice Video! I enjoyed watching it! Keep up the great work :)
Street Bandito Haha LOL no problem mate ^^
Yo, completely random question, but what brand is that gray hoodie?
Street Bandito Thanks for the heads up friend!! Also can't wait to see how the build turns out, keep up the great content.
How much would a project like this cost? Just the carbon fiber bits.
Street Bandito what website was it ordered from? I'd like to not get cheap shit
yo what kind of glasses or frame are those?
Street Bandito hell ya you mean "Glasses Shop"
Hahaha the fuel door where he welded 4 years ago (at the time of the video) needed corossion pertection
