- Today we begin the carbon fiber process on the Datsun front clip. Tim goes over in detail what he has done to the hood already and some tips and advice on how to lay the carbon fiber the correct way.
We also begin some slight work on the lexus ls400. Still waiting for more additional parts to come in before we go all out on it. So if youre interested in that build just know it is coming soon!

That's dope on the Datsun hood. It's just like an e-type, the way it opens up and all.
Such a dope build bro! Keep it up!
Love this build man. You should do a QandA with these guys!
I love your cinematic shots in these videos, keep it up and do more of those please!
such a cool build guys! i love the 240z/80z
Commitment level is 100%!!
This build is mental! best build on youtube by far, love it!
Already done men!
this is like my favourite series on youtube, Its so awesome! I'd love to know more about the weight savings. let us know how much you saved for each part after you make it
Dude, just happed to come across your channel and the videos are amazing!! Love the 240z build keep it up!
This is my new favorite channel on CZcams. The videography is on another level and way better content than the drama TV auto shows. Keep up the excellent quality boys
making carbon fiber hood and skinning a hood with carbon are 2 different things... apple and oranges
I agree. If the objective is making the car lighter, skinning with carbon fiber actually makes the car heavier. Skinning for aesthetics makes sense though.
Hey man, love the videos !
He’s a magician ! Love to see a dry carbon fiber fitup turn out so well!
Doin work boys. Love it. Can’t wait for the next vid. So glad I subbed!!! 😊
awesome video man, you guys give inspiration for people like us .
Love your work. You are amazing
Wow I feel inspired great vid!!!
Bringing in the wide format black bars for the resin/hood shots was dope! Ya got a good eye man.
Carbon Fiber all the things!
So so so so sick bro, keep it up
That was nail-biting to watch the laying of the fiber. I know how hard it is to lay the fiber just right, without distortions. Had 13 CF hoods made a few years ago and was there for some of the lay ups. You guys have the perfect set up. Anybody would love to part of a car collective like this. Looking forward to the Q&A vid. Once again, wish you all the best. Oh, and my favorite word of the video: TURBO... in the future.
crispycris in my professional opinion it wouldn’t be so hard laying the carbon right if it was made out of a mold then infused. The carbon would be dry laying it in the mold and you could take your time. In the end, of course their are two ways of doing it, this just seems to be the hardest. A lot of people don’t like making molds but if any of those panels ever get messed up you could always make another part from the mold, just sayin.
Street Bandito you obviously know what your doing even when u made mistakes in the oven, u have the skills. I totally know the struggles with carbon, pain!!!! 😂just curious why do u choose to do it that way?
Sweet videos my dude
Just found this channel... you guys have original builds, are funny, and have dogos so I'm subscribed now!
good vibes
How many layers do you use for the fenders and hood? Love the project!
Holy shit! I just put 2 and 2 together and realized you guys did the bodywork and pain on David Patterson’s BluJZ! Good work chaps! Can’t wait to see what’s next for you guys!
Paint* lol
You guys did that crazy thing too? That’s one of my favorites that he reviewed. Lots of inspiration for me to get out in the garage and do some work lol.
Dripping like In Alien. Cool.
This build needs so many more views and subs.
The video work and editing is lovely also!
Love these video's, just wish y'all hadn't used a 1970 in such good condition.
Sorry to lower the tone but that girl was 100% tip top beautiful😁 love what your doing with the car. hope to see more😉😉
Great work guys! Do you make carbon fiber hood and fenders for purchase??
How do I convince you to make one for my 260? 😅 Your build is super close to my goals as far as all out cf but I want mine to look stock and I'm building an l28et.
Good working👍
Why don't you spray a black base in the hood so that will be easier to hide the white spots in-between the twill of the carbon fiber?
new fav channel
Any issues with the white bleeding through the fabric? I'm surprised you guys didn't spray it black first.
Reducing all that weight is good but let's hope that you built enough reinforcements to keep the driver (& passengers) safe in an event of a crash or rollover.
one day i hope to see a carbon fiber monocoque from you guys
bunch of young guys with their own huge ass shop. Hell yeah, must be doing something good
where do you purchase your materials to do all the carbon work?
Dude!! Was there any motor mounts on that car
I was under the impression that you need to make a mold of a body panel to make it into carbon fiber. If you just lay the carbon on top of the stock hood wont it be slightly larger and not fit right ? Or is it such a minute size increase that it doesn't matter ? Great content man !
good to know, i would think just laying it over the original part it would have trouble bolting up like a stock hood
😍😍😍
Wow! Gettin serious these days. Good job🙄
Street Bandito Hah! I believe you get the job done bro! Much Love frome Germany my friend! Take care and greetz to youre crew❤
Where in the US do go to school to learn this stuff? Would love to build a kit car!
The military sent me to - Abaris Training Resources, Inc. - they train military and civilian.
Lol 1:28 "I'm bein attacked"
where did u buy that roll of carbon fiber?
Strange, my missus says I am not getting laid until I am cured.
I cant stop watching, awesome build.... What are the specs and price of the carbon fiber material....?
Street Bandito only wondering about type, thickness, brand,etc.....
thanks
and thanks for bleeping the profanity, im no saint, but remember you gotta go after a wider audience and looks/sounds professional...👍🏼
Where can I get that steering wheel for my Z ?
Did you just use the stock body to be the moulding of your carbon body? Is it fit?
Street Bandito i'll wait for that man, so if i want to make carbon part, can i use the body part to be the mould? Or i need to make moulding from the stock part then use the mold to make the carbon part. (Sorry for bad english)
I can only imagine the mess the resin was leaving since they where using it so "sparingly" 😂😂 So, since that didn't go as planned, what's the order of operations now? Super77,carbon,resin, repeat x3? Also, was the welded front end on the car when it was driving? Or was it welding and prepped just for the carbon? (BTW, you know since its going carbon you now HAVE to weigh it to find out actual weight savings 😂) One other thing, is he gonna do some inner fenders for the bay out of carbon or just leave it all open?
Yes that is the correct order now. The welded front end was welded together on the car to assure correct fitment but would not work if it was still bolted down so it was just made to build this piece off of. We are definitely going to have to compare weights, and yes we are building inner fenders as well to keep rocks etc away from the expensive bits hahah.
Tim Hicks Good to hear man! Idk if I'd go full carbon, but your pishing me to do maybe some fiberglass panels on my s130. Maybe someday I'll carbon the z31, but I wanna work up to that
Street Bandito That price tag tho... I mean, I'm just a blacksmith during the day, don't make any serious money. One day tho!
Did u just wrap it with the carbon kevlar? Or u will make it full carbon kevlar?
felix reinaldo it will be full carbon fiber. The piece underneath is being used as a mold and will be removed, just like the rest of the carbon panels on the car.
Cinematographer is the shit! Need a G. O. B.!!! Any room ? Will move. P. S. Mechanical by nature.
Yeah! I’m 800 likes :-). Jendosa fender flares.
Red beans n rice didn't miss her.
Skinning. The hood will be heavier!🙈
But much stronger than fiberglassed one
@@tyflos098 man oh man, stupid can't be fixed!
1:42 i watch video on yt and i saw this my nissan engin sr20de i need more video nissan rouls
What’s your camera setup homie? It’s super crisp
Street Bandito damn that’s what’s up. I used to use a GoPro but the footage seemed washed out. Also had a 5dmk2 and it was nice but it didn’t have autofocus so I sold it and now using an 80d but your footage is dope as fuck
Street Bandito it works well. Easy to use. Just not that great with low light. I could buy a nicer lens but that’s money.
Are you guys working out of a hobby shop or just a actual mechanics shop?
Cpd Hyrule this is our family's bodyshop that we rent space from. We will explain more in the coming Q&A video
11:22 Dat Franklin background music
How can i get in contact with u guy. To talk about a project? Ae86
12:40 dude your in the shot...... get out.... Ohhhh whoops my bad.
What OMP wheel is that? I can't seem to find it anywhere

a ver si aprendo un saludo.
You could have use vinyl wrap. Thats not making a carbon fiber hood. If you’re going for weight savings thats literally the exact opposite. But nice build
5:30 its looke like from formula one
Brooooo why don’t you NEVERRRRR wear a respirator when cutting the fiber ? I though you always have to have it on while working with this stuff ?
Why do you guys use the parts as molds when it’s better to use the part to make a mold then make a part off the mold?
Hot wheels did their version of the rotsun wish they'd do a version of of your sweet @$$ ride! Maybe it time for a street Bandito custom diecast!
Why are you going over top of metal with carbon??? Why not make an actual carbon hood?
This, they are just wrapping the car. The whole point of carbon fiber is to lower weight but maintain stiffness and strength of body panels. These videos are dumb Af
Yeah, I was confused with this video as well. It's cool, but I feel like it's faking it.
they are not wrapping or skinning they eventually separate the carbon from the metal, basically using the body as the mold itself
@@wildcat6669 hes laying the carbon on the hood, he is clearly skinning it. A lot more layers of carbon or fiberglass are needed to make a mold strong, expecially for removal and reuse of the mold itself. 1 layer of carbon and baking it in the oven, for a mold.. no. The hood will be heavier!
Making a carbon fibre hood, hack, cut, and glue to metal hood! Sketchy as F**k , no forged carbon, no vacuum & cured carbon moulds, nothing. I’d be pissed if that was my car I’m paying for.
@09:45 sheeeee is gorgeous!!! I love a woman who lifts =]
You are not making a carbon hood. You are actually making it heavier.
It just a wrap and not actually a carbon hood......
hi , can i get your email? i have a question about skinning a hood?
Show the parts not the people
do not do like those people do carbon... maybe they do first time... no comment
Carbon Kingdom wut?
That intro though... stop it, get some help
What a waste of time watching
anyone else find this guy behind the camera annoying ?
Kevin Cope no but I find your icon picture to look annoying
because yours is just so much better ? "j" ..
Kevin Cope yea it is I don’t look dusty and queer in mine
Lmao. First few videos he did but I’m used to him now. Just gotta get to know his personality
What's the point of a carbon wrap? I thought you were actually going to make a carbon fiber hood. Lies, you better not tell anyone that that's a carbon fiber hood
