    Brilliant work. Good how you learned from the first wing where to improve the second wing. Good weight saving. They look a good finish to me. End of the day it’s a race car not a show car. Great work 👏

    Glue gun sticks if you cut them to length ..drill out the centre if needed and can be used as spacers behind the wings where you need to bring them out to suit the existing panels...they work great...nice work guys and great info for the diy guys ...lovin this👌

    So the layer you apply to the panel so the carbon panel can be removed is called eglass? Or diolen?

  • @psycho3344
    @psycho3344 Před 3 měsíci

    Bit of a random question but what do you do if the bonnet you need to skin is from a larger car ie "Toyota supra" that you cant get the carbon cloth to cover the whole bonnet? If you skin the bonnet in x2 lengths of 1200mm carbon wouldn't you see the join/overlap in the center? Would you have to make a mould first in fiberglass so the overlap would be then on the inside of the bonnet?

    • @RuskiWeldFab
      @RuskiWeldFab  Před 3 měsíci +1

      overlap will be on both sides. you just have to make it a very neat one. or find 1.5m sheet

      I want to do the upper layer of my dashboard in carbon but I want to try and save the dash from being damaged as its rare and in good condition. Is there a way I can take a mold from it without damaging it? Every tutorial on yt people doing dashboard they always ruin/sacrifice the dash to build one in carbon

    This the same techquie people use to make carbon Lay overs on trim pieces ?? Beside removing the carbon trim, it just stays on the trim pieces then clear coated.
    Also how xome you guys never clear coated tge carbon after ??

    • @RuskiWeldFab

    The carbon fiber showing on the surface might be a pro move... If it is bumpy enough it might work like the golf ball surface, who knows how useful that might be though

    I want to make carbon fiber for my car as a project and I have no clue of anything. When i saw how the carbon fiber wing was done I was like thats terrible quality but theyre just the side wings, if it was the door i would have been like yeah they going to die.

    • @anthonybryantmedia
      @anthonybryantmedia Před 8 měsíci +1

      One thing to consider is they did one layer with epoxy to get the shape. Cured then put on the car. For a quality finish you would then do 3 epoxy coats to get that carbon finsh you are thinking of.
