One suggestion I have is to line the bottom of the drawers with yellow duct tape, enamel paint, or thin foam panels. It does two things: protects the drawer bottom from tool marks and easily identifies when a tool is missing from the foam cutout. This does mean you'll have to cut completely through the thick foam, but it's worth it.
The wood is already yellow.
@nyetloki true. Yellow tape protects the wood from scratches and stains. Vinyl works best.
After seeing the final build, my first thought that I would modify would be to initially split the drawers into two vertically rather than horizontally Then you would have two deep drawers side by side. You then could use one as a place for a cooler for lunch and drinks. The other deep drawer you could then split horizontally and use as two drawers. You might need to streamline your tool selection or be more compact in layout but that would be more practical overall for a bike ride. Nice job overall!
You could do anything you want with it but my goal was to reduce cut lines and make the drawers seem like they don't exist and that the real way to open it is flipping up the top.

great looking tool box, do I want one...damn right I do. However I kinda worry about it being exposed to the elements since its on a bike as a carrier box, like rain for instance. I hope stuff kept inside wont get wet because the box isn't exactly water tight , and the glue doesn't come apart. But meh...details...who cares. the box is cool....and I want one
