- As voters in more than 80 constituencies were casting their ballots on April 26 in the second phase of India’s mammoth general election, the country’s Supreme Court issued a critical ruling on the electoral voting system. Rejecting a petition filed by an NGO, the court ruled that India needs to nurture a « culture of trust » on e-voting. But the lack of trust lies at the heart of the issue, explains FRANCE 24’s Leela Jacinto.

😂 other countries used wifi connected EVM which can be Manipulated or hacked🤣 but hear we use different. For example how can a scientific calculator be hacked. Voters are not dumb. I can understand that lady needs a job that's ok, western propaganda cannot be broken in a year it needs decades.
Even I voted in the election and checked it via vvpat in real time, it truly displayed the printed paper of the party with logo whom I voted by clicking the button and it was accurate after that the paper went down in vvpat.

This is one area where westerners look everything in India through their prism. These westerners have no idea about how India works in the rural and remote areas. Once, there was rampant booth capturing, fake balloting all based on individual muscle power in the respective territory. And, recently also you have seen that day-light robbery of vote ballots and booth capturing in Pakistan election. There is no perfect solution for everything in the world, but we chose what is best for our country considering its challenges. There are so many states in India that have won by opposition and regional parties, I don't know why these people want to overlook them unless they have a hidden agenda to tarnish something that they don't like.
