Sir, this is pure GOLD. I speak for the White belt nation when I say thank you 🙏.
I appreciate you and the whole white belt nation!
White belt in the making here, I’m barely two months into jiu jitsu, can’t express how much I’m loving it so far, love watching these videos all day, good luck man👍🏻
Very well done !!! Excellent presentation and concise logical flow in the accompanying demonstrations !! Just excellent info and technique demos here 🥂🥂
Yup, Mhm, Got it, I have now mastered these submissions. *Goes to Class, gets Utterly destroyed again*. Literally how I feel lol.
My plan for today, basically.
You have to be the nail before you can be the hammer.
I watch on my bed, imitate the moves on my bed....okay lets go into the real world
After classes write down what you learnt that way it sticks in your brain
I see, apply, then I forget and get submitted - 2 weeks new to it 😩😩😩😩
Jiu-jitsu the subtle art of folding clothes, with someone still wearing them.
🤣🤣🤣
You rea💪
Involuntary yoga
Non consensual stretching
Struggle snuggling
I’m gonna need to watch this a few times
James Braxton same 😁
Likewise. This is going to be something to study.
00:38 cross choke 1
01:05 cross choke 2
01:26 arm bar
02:02 arm bar attempt transition to triangle choke
02:23 Head Hook Arm Lock
02:56 Review of Head Hook Arm Lock
03:30 Omoplata
03:59 Omoplata Sweep into Short Arm Lock
04:20 Transition into Monoplata, to Rolling Omoplata
05:02 Closed Guard into Arm Wrap Cross Choke
05:50 Hiza Gatame
I will study these. Hope this helps others too. Great channel.
I learned about 8 new submission from this one video crazy
As a first week white belt this is eye opening
what belt are you right now? just wondering
@@ckedits3714 blue belt currently even with off/on training between COVID closures and 9 months of building a house.
One day I'll have the faintest idea what I'm doing on the mats, one day.
Has that day come yet
@@lukeriley5480 no.
@@ed1726 damn it me neither 😂
@@lukeriley5480 lol :-)
Same brother
Hiza Gatame sounds like Mario got caught in an arm lock and said “he’s got me”
🤣🤣🤣
I love this!!!! Perfect cause I always pull people into guard but never know what to do...
I do...
Get destroyed and "tap"
Same here
yea same. i just try to sweep and get on top but that rarely happens
He is by far one of the best teachers I’ve seen, the way he explains makes everything so clear even for someone like me who normally learns by doing not seeing or hearing
Thank you so much. I really appreciate you saying that.
just one thing he should explain why certain movements are necessary like holding the leg down during the triangle lock and explaining why they work
I love how clean and professional you are, and not a lot of random junk.
Man I like the way you explain, first you show one tecnique, if don't finised the choke, showed another choke if secondone doesn't works go the thirdone and on and on and on... thanks you get one student from Panama Republic.
And sorry if my English is bad, I have to improve it.
Thank you very much! I really appreciate the comment.
He literally showed he knows how the fuck to escape and adjust into enything
You rea 💪 😇
2:36 is crazy. Looks like a silver fox move
On my 2nd day rolling I was able to get a lot of different submissions just by watching your videos. I've got a wrestling/judo background so some of this comes naturally, but just watching your videos over and over and over is really helping me digest this information.
Thanks man.
That is very awesome to hear. Thank you so much!
Bro my second day I thought I was going to be the first person ever to drown on dry land. Funny aside, I didn't have a gi or belt yet so my coach lent me some stuff. The belt had 2 stripes on it. One dude who spent some of my first day teaching me how to shrimp asked me about it. I told him if you're over 40 you get a stripe for every class you show up to. He was NOT amused. 🤣
In truth it took me over a year to actually esrn 2 stripes so I get his point.
can you do a no gi version of this?
I second that!
All of these work no Gi other than the collar chokes
Daniel Che even then, can’t you just cup the neck instead of threading the collar?
Sure I’m the master with the big heart which state are you living in?

This video made me understand submissions so much better. The fact that u got combos in the ground game just the same way u got in striking makes everything make so much more sense
There is about 3 months of training in this one video.
Thai-Anh Nguyen haha for me three years lol
more like 30 years to perfect this
For real-been doing almost three and still stuck on triangle! Hahahha
And about 3 months' worth of money saved. My point is watching instructional videos like this one before joining a BJJ dojo makes a lot of sense, rather than going to a class as a beginner totally clueless about the BJJ fundamentals.
@@samaiech7587 Truest statement.
5:45 favorite way to see someone tap in a demo!
I prefer my way of tap. Which is to screaming like a little girl.
@@haesung2148 lol
This was really helpful at making me think about chaining attempts from the guard, thanks!
Your techniques are great. I’m going to review them many times. I like ground game submissions.... thanks a lot 🙏🏾🇨🇦
I’ve probably watched this 1000x and I do believe that if you only focused on few techniques, being good at this sequence would let you tap all the blue and white belts at your gym consistently (or at least they steak your playbook)
Thanks again for the concise material, Ely! Ossss!
Coach this is by far the best you uploaded so far, appreciated and please keep up the great work, oss.
Excellent submission flows!! Thank you for sharing!
I've been getting more comfortable on my back as a wrestler transitioning into JJ and all I've been trying to do for submission is triangle. My success rate on finishing is 0%.. so I was looking for more moves while on my back. This is the Holy Grail of attack submissions I've been searching for. Thank you so much for this compilation video. I'm seriously going to watch this video all day, everyday to have these attacks grained into my brain. Thanks again for this video. Seriously, thank you
I took a year off and this was a great video quickly showing very good sequences of attacks, just what I needed before going to open mat tonight, thank you!
Excellent demonstration, thank you.
These are amazing submissions..I like how they all transition nicely from one to the other. Got some work to do now..hopefully I can get some of these to work during rolling tonight.
This video is great. Especially with recoveries which is what is one of the most needed skill as a lot of people like me are confused what to do if our original submission plan doesn’t work.
I really like that grip break at 5:20, definitely going to drill that and other stuff in this video. You’re quickly becoming one of my favorite bjj channels, I love how you have a good mix for the people that focus on the sport aspect and the self defense aspect.
I have watched several of your videos and I find them extremely helpful.
I watched a lot of your videos, and yesterday I have chosen 5 submissions that I learned perfectly, and 3 to get out from the guard, so I put them on practice while I was rolling with that blue belt (I’m a white belt), and also using the ones I learned in the fundamental class. Everyone was surprised, it was my 4th class tho. I wanted to learn more techniques that I can use when I roll, without just staring at my partner and saying « I don’t know what to do ». Well, big thank you, you have no idea how much you helped me 🙏🏼💙
Wow! Thank you so much for telling me this! I am so glad I could help in any way possible and I really appreciate you letting me know. Best of luck training and keep me posted with your progress!
I’m going to spend the next few months working on the first one. Great explanation and demonstration.
Thanks for not wasting time in your videos. Excellent content.
This is so encyclopedic in such a short space of time.
You are a great resource and one of the top instructors around, especially when covering the common what if's . 👍
The flow of techniques is fucking beautiful!
Holy Shit-To explain while adapting for the counter possibilities...thats crazy muscle memory
Amazing, love to see the transitions between chokes and locks, please get more videos like this.
My instructor always says look for a way to make them pay, this shines a lot of light onto that, thank you 👍🏼
this is pure knowledge. thanks so much !!
8 months later this stuff is finally making sense and seems almost doable lol thanks eli
Incredible. getting anxious to get on the mats already now!
This definitely is an informative video, will definitely put this into my flowchart of full guard attempts. Thank you.
WOW. Amazing. This chain of attacks has made me refocus on my closed-guard game!
That’s great to hear! It’s easy to get complacent about the usefulness of it sometimes. Thanks!
Eli, thank you for posting this vid, very informative for a new BJJ student like myself! Please keep the vids coming. I’ve been training only three months, and I’m 60 years old. Thank you again!
That is so awesome to hear and very inspiring. Please keep me posted about your training!
Thanks prof this is really helpful for me. I play a closed guard game I'm doing my first comp in a few months and have been drilling similar things but extra tools in the tool box are always helpful. Thanks again..
Just watched several videos, great material I am going to try to use during tonights training. Very basic, very old shool, but I like very much. Thank you.
I left BJJ for 5 years and well , closed guard is what I know the most but a basic level, this video is pretty good for me as close guard will never die !
Really nice, good transitions and smart explanation!
Just rewatched. Thanks again, Eli. So much good stuff here.
I really appreciate that! Thank you.
So great of you to teach all of these in one video.
Really appreciate these vids. As explained prior, I am over 65 and have been doing this for about 2 years and am just getting off the ground with moves and counters. Thank you so much for all you do for us.
So awesome to hear this. Keep it up!!!
I am about 6 classes into jiu jitsu and this video was amazing. We've worked on a few things here, but not all. Love it. Thanks.
That’s awesome to hear! Glad it helps!
Great Instructional, love the closed guard!
One of the best bbj videos on CZcams. With detailed explanations on why you do what you do.. Wow.
Thank you so much
I really learned it very fast. Congratulations. Thanks for teaching it. Ossu!!
Hey sensi, I just would like to say a massive thank you for your teaching and contributions to the sport / art of bjj.
In my opinion you're one of the best bjj coaches on CZcams. With clear and easy to follow instructions. Excellent vidogrphy (thanks to whoever holds the camera for you too) .
I would also like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me keep sane with the aid of your videos and my bjj dummy I have been able to keep training in bjj during the pandemic.
Thank you, keep up the amazing videos and hopefully I'll get the opportunity to train with you one day
If you roll today make it a good one for all those still in lockdown
Thank you so very much for the kind words, my friend. I truly appreciate it. I’m sorry to hear you’re still in lockdown and I hope it eases for you very soon.
Beautifully shot video, great moves, very clear explanation. Thx!
Nice chaining together! Thank you for sharing! 👍
I love that channel. Every day when i have internet connection, i only open my youtube and search this channel. Really dods is awsome. I can't wait for new videos. Estoy descargando todos los videos de poco en poco para una vez ternelos todos sea entrenar todos los dias. No puedo esperar a ver sus nuevos videos ! saludos Knight !
That is fantastic! Thank you very much!
I love how you have a Gracie in ur background... imma Gracie juijitsu and it really puts me in a positive mood
amazing connexions, traps, and sequences
The detail in this video is awesome!
I do judo and whenever I get In guard I blank super hard. This video is excellent and has given me a ton of insight into options from a guard; thank you!
I’m so happy to hear that!
This is by far one of the best tutorials/training series of attacks with smooth "next state" options online.
Thank you!
Am glad to see you’re still doing awesome! Excellent teacher and I still refer to you as the professor! Great video! Always using the human reactions to dictate your course of attack. Musashi would be proud!
Thank you so much for the kind sentiment! I really appreciate that
Thank you for responding Eli, I really appreciate it! And I’ll keep you informed on my progress. Have a great day!
This is insanely well-presented. I love how you start with simpler locks and chokes, and show more ad more developed stuff to counter the opponent's counters to previous moves
Thank you very much.
Pure gold
Thank you!
Just what i needed today
Very nice vid. Love the distinction in your grip for the cross choke depending on if it’s over the top or underneath
Awesome video! Thanks! Just started training 6 weeks ago and this was great!
This is gold
If I had to define myself I’d say I’m an uneducated brawler. I take a lot of hits and sacrifice my body a lot of times for openings. Videos like this tho have been helping me round out my game in the gym and hopefully within a year or two I’ll be fighting for real. I thank you guys tho for making these helpful videos. It really does change my game

My god rewatching this is so awesome. I probably watched it 6 months ago and now seeing it again I have new jiu jitsu eyes and is seeing a lot of set ups to use. Thanks so much!
Thank you so much!
Crazy how much knowledge you can gain from jiu jitsu fair play brother
Ecellente!!
Sharing with my students!
Saw blue bar on black belt, immediately subscribed. Great videos!
Thank you!
no, thank you!
+MrChrisRenz thanks for the info
What does the blue bar mean
Saw chocolate bar on table...immediately consumed.
Def my favourite technique channel ..
Bloody brilliant! Thank you 🙏
Great job! I like simple and effective jui juitsu!
Thanks. Me too.
Good video, one of the best I've seen, wish I could learn from principles rather than techniques though.
This was beautiful and amazing. I can’t wait to try this!!
Best subs from closed guard I’ve come across yet
That head hook armbar is crazy
When the only bad thing about this video is the whitebalance, you have yourself a masterpiece
I watch this video at least twice a week! It has added so much versatility to my closed guard play. It is awesome how the partners reaction flows from just one collar grip! The shoulder wrap americana is my favorite to hit with this. Thanks!
That’s awesome to hear! And yeah, that’s one of my favorites too, the shoulder wrap.
Absolute genius. Pure genius. Not only the techniques, but the way they are taught. Amazing.
Thank you so much!
Very interesting but over my head!
I don't usually like puns but this was very good
Dang, that's sick professor Eli Knight and thanks for sharing this, sir :-)
Thank you for watching it, my friend!
Really great technique, explanation and sequencing. Thanks!
Finally a video that explains gaurd submissions well!
Very thorough step by step format, well done. I’m definitely going to start to adapt this sequence into my game. Thanks for sharing of knowledge.
Excellent video, we will drill this whole sequence tommorow
Awesome to hear! Let me know how it goes. Thanks!
Great video. Thanks for the clear explanation and giving so many different options. Good stuff
Eli, had a great class tonight. Did a lot of guard pass training, exactly what I was watching on your vid last night! Totally awesome. Hope all is well with you as well! Thank you again!
Lately my go to guard submission has been the Kimura, been working different set ups, different combinations from there. I caught a guy the other day 9 times in 5 minutes with the same Kimura.
Nice! I left that out of this one for continuity sakes but definitely one of the best subs period
This is prob going to take me 4 years to learn 😬 better get to work 😁
Wonderful piece of work.
6 months ago when I just start to do jiu-jitsu, I watched this video and I was like 🤯🤯🤯. Now this tutorial finally works for me!!😂 thank you!
