That being said, I have purchased 5 of John's DVDs and have attended two of his classes and I can say, without a doubt, he is the best, most articulate coach, with the best material and best teaching skills in the world, bar none.

I spent 2 years plus learning BJJ. This 'primer' is so good that it fixed many of my errors in my escapes and even gave me a game plan against all opponents.
You sir are a wizard and your material is well worth the price.
Think about it. Imagine you're in a self defense situation. This primer makes sure you end up at least in guard and attempting to take the opponents back. No "noise". No "nonsense"
The first 2 years is really confusing as we are just groping with all the major things in jiu jitsu without delving into the details and cementing the nervous system reflexes to carry out the motions flawlessly.
If I had your instructionals since the beginning I'm absolutely sure i would have reached blue belt in a year training just twice a week and spending a few hours a week drilling your techniques with a partner.

John Danaher. Absolutely diamonds and pearls of jiu jitsu wisdom. THE best coach in my humble opinion. The standard everyone that coaches should aspire to.

Am sold! John Danagher is indeed a BJJ professor of Phd caliber. Just listen to the simplicity of his detailed explanation of very complicated techniques (“to new students”, and seasoned ones alike). All the freshmen class now definitely get it.

Went to my first class today just practicing fundamentals, primarily escaping a pin from side-control. Slightly different method but the approach was very much the same. This kind of video is really eye-opening.

I came across this video while looking for ways to help my 8 year old son who just started. We watched and practiced this together and seeing his face the first time he escaped was beyond words since he's taken down almost immediately and struggles to get out. I've never seen him happier than when he's on the mats. This sport is a blessing, and the wizards like John who break this stuff down are Godsends. Thank you 🙏

I am glad there was no camera when I was the one getting choked during my class. Those chokes are no fun to be on the receiving end. The pain goes from zero to 100 with very little in between. Also .... great video.
