It wasn’t thirty seconds. She was in prison for a couple of years which probably gave her time to think and then witnessed that she inquisitors do to Jedi and innocent people is what made her open her mind. Also it cuts to at least a decade later showing how much she changed as a character. Over all I think it’s a well written redemption
By 30 seconds, I meant the scene in which she duels the Jedi and tells him that he’s been deceived by the Jedi Order, then a few seconds later she claims to be a Jedi.
She's more jedi than most of the other. She didn't attack the jedi temple for the sole purpose of putting the shoes of the antagonist. She was rebelling against what the jedi had turned into - a hypocritical and arrogant bunch, a puppet of the politics. She wanted more, she wanted to serve the people and prevent wars. Not participate in them. In the last episode in the new shorts she admits that she had fallen into darkness. For a while her actions indeed defined her as something else (perhaps because of factors like fear, war PTSD, immaturity and lack of communication) but the struggle and conflict was also quite evident. That's why she redeemed herself later on. She became a healer and a servant of the light side. So yeah she's one badass jedi. And what a beautiful lesson it was, learning to defeat our shadow self, an aspect that lurks within us all, then reshape ourselves into something new and not let the shadow or the flawed past define who we are. The past is an illusion, a mirage - the only moment that matters is the present. And she was fully anchored in the present. She dispelled her shadow and remained in the light until the very end.
Personally, I was expecting her to be killed by Vader during her Inquisitior 'training' as retaliation for being the catalyst for Ashoka leaving the order and by extension leaving Anakin.
People not believing in her redemption vs Darth vaders literally list of genocide the force and redemption isn’t about what you did but about doing the right thing and coming back to the will of the force
I had a problem with the way she made a 180 within a minute. By “30 seconds,” I meant the scene in which she duels the Jedi and tells him that he’s been deceived by the Jedi Order, then a few seconds later she claims to be a Jedi.
The legends barris is way better and actual suppose to die canonically in Felucia. Same time Barris in multimedia was actual badass same goes for aayla.
Tails of the empire only focused on 2 story’s baras and Elizabeth i wish they did more stories like tails of the jedi. Also I hope they do tails of the sith hopefully will darth plagues revan or bane.
She spent her whole life in the Jedi order so in if that’s your comparison then you think Rey is a Skywalker?🤨 she did what she did because she seen the corruption of the Jedi and knew they was heading down a dark path. Her ways were definitely off but she wasn’t wrong. And she’s far more a Jedi than most. Hence why she seen their corruption
I’m saying she’s as much of a Jedi as Rey is a Skywalker. Barriss murdered a ton of innocent people-clones, Jedi, and regular citizens hanging around the temple. She orchestrated a whole terrorist attack and framed her close friend and beat her to a pulp, and defended her actions at her trial. Even in Tales of the Empire, she tried to convince the Jedi survivor that the Jedi are deceptive and corrupt and that he should forsake the Order. Then, a minute later, she claims to be a Jedi. It’s just very inconsistent. Like you said, Barriss had some points, but she was WAAAAY in the wrong for literally committing mass murder and treason.
@@shenanakinskywalker as far as being a Jedi though she was right in saying the Jedi were corrupt. Claiming to be a Jedi after could really just mean she understands now what it means to be a REAL Jedi when the majority of the order didn’t. Even Yoda had his errors and if he did the whole order certainly did. Baris was brought up in war essentially. Her mass murder was wrong fs especially blaming it on Ahsoka 😤 I think she just had her back against the wall at a certain point. She even still meditated while in prison and such. I’d def consider her a Jedi more than most. Least she on a Pong Krell 🫠
I agree COMPLETELY!! We’re supposed to feel sympathy for this character?!? NO WAYY!! The whole time I was watching the episode I just kept remembering how she bombed the temple, KILLING all those people, and FRAMING AHSOKA?!? I don’t completely disagree with her point of view on the jedi but she just went too far!!😑🙄
Anakin made "180" I mean Vader now good and redimed. I guess palps was worth a lot of light side points... It is really dumb that by 1 thing he became good. He was really super evil for a pretty long time. But yeah Barris episode really dumb. I would like to see how she bacame inquisitor. Petty and cruel and then reddem herself by dying for something. Children or some shit. But with how: hey lets train inquisitors: fisrt assignment and she defect...
She got blinded by the same thing the Jedi themselves where blind too. The Jedi where Lossing their way in becoming soldiers to the Republic. Yes she went about it completely wrong and killing people doesn't justify the means.
I didn’t have a big gripe with her redemption, just that it was way too fast. She told the Jedi she was dueling that the Jedi Order is deceptive and that he should turn away from it. A minute later, she claims to be a Jedi
@@shenanakinskywalker I never got the impression that she aligned with the with though. That’s why she began to turn when she saw the inquisitor kill the townsfolk.
She's a Filoni character, so who knows how she thinks and acts. Seeing her as a person, she was probably a purist Jedi like Qui Gon and Dooku who listens to the force, while the current Jedi listens to the Republic. Krell, Dooku, and Bariss all acted out against current Jedi. I think with her long prison sentence, she got a chance to see how the Empire was created, with her as cause of lack of faith in Jedi, and how the Jedi was likely innocent because of who ran the Empire. She tried to play ball as a Sith, but realized she still had the heart of a Qui Gon Jedi. Filoni doesn't know enough to explain anything so that's why it looks like her turn was so sudden but Bariss has always been good. It just was misguided on who she thought the enemy was and how to goabout exposing them that was problem. Krell and Dooku only sought the Sith path for power. She never sought the Sith path.
She’s not wrong though a lot of the Jedi were hypocrites and blinded by war, though her methods were not her intentions were she was trying to show the Jedi that their way is being corrupted
I wouldn’t say it was 30 seconds. It’s like the ESB Luke training scenes. People say it was 6 months, some say a couple weeks to even just a matter of days. I think there is a significant chunk of time we don’t see. While I personally don’t like Disney Star Wars, I do like the redemption of Barris. It’s the core message of George. He’s even said it in interviews. The arc shows Barris hesitation to join the inquisitors. She only taps into the dark side in order to save herself. She didn’t attack Dante, he attacked her. There are many examples in the Arc of Barris trying to do the right thing.
By 30 seconds, I meant the scene in which she duels the Jedi and tells him that he’s been deceived by the Jedi Order, then a few seconds later she claims to be a Jedi.
The jedi was corrupt it's why they fell so hard and why it was so easy for Palpatine to rise. What is wrong with star wars fans these days, literal brain rot.

Didn’t you see Falcon Winter Soldier?
Disney doesn’t consider people who use violence and fear to push their own agendas as terrorists.
You can't be a terrorist because somewhere there's a white man you can blame your actions on.
“Stop calling them terrorists” - falcon, after people blow up a building

I would have preferred that tbh lol
I agree I was expecting barris to go full dark side

She died on the lights side
She also murder clones the worst tragedy of this all 😢
