Well, this is Asian culture for y'all. I live in Japan and here people are obsessed with weight and looks too, I know in other countries such as China, Vietnam and Thailand things are like this too, but Korea takes it to a whole new level. They are truly, truly obsessed with how they look and how much they weight and the bullying about it is fierce. I refuse to wear makeup but in Japan and Korea not using makeup is considered basically a crime against humanity. I'm surprised 2ne1 rehearsed without makeup because yeah, it's not the norm. That's why she was bullied by the jerk. And I used to be bullied too in Japan but I've grown a thicker skin. I did reach rock bottom though thanks to the bullying I went through. Now, I really hope their fans won't attack me because I'm just saying what I personally feel about them.
Yeah that comment was so stupid... I'm wondering if he meant it out of his actual ideals, or if he meant it because he understands the current situation for male vs female idols. Like it's one thing to say it in an ignorant way, but it's different if he meant it like "Fans are cruel and the current reality is that females have a higher visual standard than males." It means Shindong is either VERY stupid, or VERY aware of reality.
Also that other time Chungha was in a reality show and one of Super Junior members was also there. And he said something super creepy about Chungha and one of the older females called him out 🤢
That man's standard was disgusting, Sulli was already so skinny and beautiful at the time. We can see how she became super conscious when he said that. Just plain disgusting to judge a young girl with that unhealthy standard.

Dude the beauty standards in Korea are so crazy. I'm chronically ill and when I was healthy I was a size 4. After getting sick my weight dropped to a size zero. Things improved a little and I went up to a size 1 or 2 depending on the clothing item. Even at size 4 people always used to tell me that I was too skinny. I wasn't at all underweight tho. I don't feel good at a size 1. I can tell I'm severely undernourished in how I look and feel. The size these girls are being pushed to achieve is literally the size I'm at as a chronically undernourished sick person and that is so alarming. These girls look totally normal and healthy. The first time I saw the clip about Sulli I was so shocked bc she isn't overweight at all. In Korea they just think it's good to look almost bone thin for some reason....but they seem to have this ideal without taking into account what a body needs every day in it's basic health requirements to survive and function well. No one should be forced to eat less than allows them to get their daily nutrients in!!! Especially not young people who are still growing and being made to burn so many nutrients through their physically demanding daily activities. That is abuse! And what Shindong said is so disgusting. Like it's ok for you to be fat bc you're a guy but a girl should have to be super thin? Like no, how double standard can you be??? The only reason its like that is bc things are too male biased over there sometimes.
They have no consideration for body types either. I'm the same height and body shape as Park Bom and she's always hounded for being fat. She has a short torso and a large chest. They see her in a certain cut of shirt and it makes her look top heavy so they automatically assume fat, then talk about how skinny she looks a few days later in a different outfit.
When that person criticize Sulli, that kinda hurt me. I'm not even her fan, but after she died, video like this made feel disgusted with Korean beauty standard and how they treat female like an object.
He didn't call her fat. He was explaining that fans call her that because they wish she'd GAIN some weight. You guys need to read things properly and not making things up.
@agahse The thing is that people always make something up and cause more drama. Overall it's not that big difference but in a slightly different scenario, it could be.... If you address a certain thing you should interpret it correctly. I agree with the last part. Both versions are bad and that man should do a bit of self-reflection.
The thing is that he was rejected too because of his visuals, so he knows what it feels like. Ps. Imo i think JYP doesn't prioritize visuals as much as other companies.
I feel like the most despicable thing is how journalists and interviewers will press idols for answers about their weight, and EXPLICITLY for their hardest diets, nothing about sustainable healthy lifestyles. Several times I've seen idols edited with funny effects after saying they nearly died from their diets. Everyone wants to ask idols how they lose weight, but no one wants to ask how badly they suffered
Yonna Dalangin pissed me off how she went straight to saying she was going to loose weight...ugh no don’t fucking listen to men with opinions like that especially when they’re the ones who should be insecure with their looks
@Sasha you can loose muscle?😂as someone who lost most of my body weight a few years ago (including any muscle I had) the only thing that you can’t lose without surgery is the skin. Even then you’d have to have a lot of it to realise.
@Sasha no you did that. Nobody mentioned the ones she was born with. She clearly has a little bit of muscle purely from daily tasks I imagine but I don’t think that’s a bad thing. She wasn’t born with them.
Watching this was heartbreaking and shocking. I’m a big kpop fan and I’m aware female idols are unfairly treated but I never knew that it was this serious. One of the girls said her CEO strictly said her weight can never go into the 50 kgs, but the average weight of a 12 YR OLD is 41.5 kg. People HAVE to stop.
My question is.... While I get the love some fans have for their fav members/groups..... How can we still support such an industry at this point anymore?.... It is 2022 and we still talk about these issues...
Yoonas face looked so uncomfortable 2:46 when they were calling her 'fatty' If you have to explain a joke to someone, it's usually not funny. Like thin shaming her right after too, Yoona has taken so much crap and hates it when people mention how skinny she is, like the girl gets it now move on.
Though I don't excuse their comments towards Yoona, I've seen at least three different occasions of Yoona talking about Tiffany's weight, even going as far as calling her a pig. People can call it a joke or say they're close so it's okay but to those same people, I doubt they are considering how all of that made Tiffany feel.
@@marissa2075 Yup. Sooyoung's called her it too (which I find ironic and hypocritical because the two of them are famous for how much they eat). And iirc, Tiffany's expressed discomfort and annoyance at being called this. In addition, it's mainly because Tiffany has an apple shaped body, so her middle looks fuller than the rest of her body, even though she's nowhere near overweight.
It's sad because she was one of the most severely underweight. This must have been crushing to hear and I honestly don't know where people think they have a place to say that to someone
@@panda-panda757 Tiffany's midsection is not necessarily her body shape but rather due to her having scoliosis (curve in her spine) If you look up those also suffering from it, you'll notice they too tend to have one side of their abdomen curved (like an hour glass) and other side straight.
The AUDACITY of these men talking about these beautiful girls. While looking like a pig themselves. I'm sorry it frustrates me so much. Why can't they just mind their business. Women aren't some kind of doll you can just change the way you like.
But if the hosts take it seriously then the girls would be out of the agency next day if they are not popular or otherwise they will get punishment for saying that. So the hosts have to do something to make it look like a joke so they laugh to it as if it is a joke.
I wish they wouldn't, but given the nature of shows like that, it can't get too serious. Now, I think that's a problem in of itself, but that's how things are.

I've been seeing an increasing number of Toxic comments shaming and blaming these girls for sharing their diets and I know it's not healthy but they are just acting on what they've been taught and learned to do. It's important to remember the majority of idols don't have eating disorders and are not part of some sick pro-ana group, they are being pressured and at times forced to go on starvation diets because they're told they can't work otherwise. But they themselves also hate it and don't want to do it either.
It seems like one of the most stressful workplaces to ever be in. The fact that people blame the girls and guys is entirely beside the point. In an environment and even country that enables this sort of pressure, can you really blame them when your career you worked so hard for is on the line?
I love your videos, its like a biography of the person since debut to now, its really shocking to see how many hate some people have to resist every day. Can you do one of Hwasa of Mamamoo?? I dont have money for Patreon, but i think that she has a pretty rough story with fat shaming as well.
Korea just isnt logical. They have an ideal weight which is 48 kilos. And being over 50 is the biggest shame. I know the middle height for women is 1.60/1.62cm in Korea but many idols are taller than that. How can you expect a 1.60cm tall and a 1.72cm tall girl to weight the same?
Ikr! The other day I saw Joy's profile and it says that she's 1.68 and her weight is 49 kg, that is just not healthy. I know that some agencies modify their idols' profiles making it more "appealing" but what kind of fucked up message are they sending to young fans?
@@OosarahrocksoO pretty sure she's more than that because the profile's tend to exaggerate their weights to be lower but she's still slim and thankfully has a healthy relationship with food and exercise
I ran out of ideas for my username yeah, they’re definitely exaggerated and the profile weight/height is usually taken right before debut. Most groups, especially girl groups, go on really extreme diets together before debut (maybe the most extreme of their entire career since they’re trying to be as thin as possible). Most idols I’ve seen who are asked about their profiles usually laugh and are like “yeah, definitely more than that now.” I’ve also seen a girl who’s clearly like 5’3” be listed at 5’5” and another girl who looks at least 5’6” listed as 5’4”. Really hilarious when you then see those idols next to each other later and go uhhhh something isn’t right here lol
@@OosarahrocksoO that's one of the worst and most overlooked part, in my opinion. I am not belittle-ing how awful these women are getting treated, but i think it must be so hard, especially for young female audiences, to be presented with these types of bodies all the time. Teenagers especially are already so insecure and fragile, thinking about it really scares me
It’s interesting how when there were only men in the room they would all laugh, but if there were women in the room they would look appalled that anyone would ever say something so rude to a girl-
I think it's because that kind of staff is not always said in reality shows, so in order not to make a bad atmosphere, they just laugh, so it could seem that they just make fun of that person and not in a bad way. As you can see in the video where Cl tells that the CEO would call them ugly, Sandara also laughed because if not it could be understood as if they complain about something.

I remember when Momo said she only ate an ice cube for a week (i think) and she was scared she would gain weight even from that.
My blood boiled when that guy told Sulli she needs to lose fat in her arms and calves!! UGGHHH
Yonna Dalangin pissed me off how she went straight to saying she was going to loose weight...ugh no don’t fucking listen to men with opinions like that especially when they’re the ones who should be insecure with their looks
And she is so skinny already! I really feel bad for her. May she rest in peace
Do you deleted like six of your comments to then comment the same thing underneath🤔
People HAVE to stop.
i love jackson, he has so mush respect for women
people need to learn from him
"Its my standard" - Said an ugly men who has weird bold eyebrush or something
YES
I LAUGHED at this so hard and yes I agree
And weird crooked teeth set 😂
We shouldn't fight back people who says ugly stuff about anyone's physical by doing the same thing....... let's be better than that omk :(
I cannot believe he was talking with those teeth and face. 🥴
taeyeon defending seulgi and Wendy, we need more people like her 🥺
나야 !! i think because she is also went through the same issue before. taeyeon such a sweetheart.
dodolipet woy yes! i love her sm ❤
Wait when? Can u show the time plz?🥺
zuheir 5 9:08 ❤
no we need to act like her!
When the boy said to Sulli that it was his standard.
I wanted her to say that ugly men were not her standard.
My question is.... While I get the love some fans have for their fav members/groups..... How can we still support such an industry at this point anymore?.... It is 2022 and we still talk about these issues...
Because it's not the companies that their lose their livelihoods and their dreams if we stop supporting the groups.
These clips are kinda old the industry has changed since then.
Yoonas face looked so uncomfortable 2:46 when they were calling her 'fatty'
If you have to explain a joke to someone, it's usually not funny.
@@Suh6727 whoa really?
The dude commenting on F(x)'s weight has clearly never looked into a mirror before.
Did you know the name of that show?

The AUDACITY of these men talking about these beautiful girls. While looking like a pig themselves. I'm sorry it frustrates me so much. Why can't they just mind their business. Women aren't some kind of doll you can just change the way you like.

girls: We were starving and didn't have enough energy to do anything
tv show hosts: HAHAHAHAHAHA LMAO ROFL
That got me so angry
But if the hosts take it seriously then the girls would be out of the agency next day if they are not popular or otherwise they will get punishment for saying that. So the hosts have to do something to make it look like a joke so they laugh to it as if it is a joke.
9:05 that one tall dude from knowing bros was saying that they should eat though so i guess some care
@@wowjuswow Janghoon always give advices to idols. Love when he does that, love how they don't edit it out as well.
I wish they wouldn't, but given the nature of shows like that, it can't get too serious. Now, I think that's a problem in of itself, but that's how things are.
Taeyeon sticking up for Seulgi and Wendy, we love a queen!!!

Korean beauty standards are so cruel💔
RIP sulli 🥺😭
I’d feel like I belong on “my 800 lb life” if I stood next to any of those girls.
In an environment and even country that enables this sort of pressure, can you really blame them when your career you worked so hard for is on the line?
glad you addressed it with a video
Thank you so much for this video. It was incredibly eye-opening.
Could you please do a video for Dilraba Dilmurat? 🙏
I love your videos, its like a biography of the person since debut to now, its really shocking to see how many hate some people have to resist every day.
Can you do one of Hwasa of Mamamoo?? I dont have money for Patreon, but i think that she has a pretty rough story with fat shaming as well.
What is the show at 6:08 ? Where can I watch it with English subtitles please
Teenagers especially are already so insecure and fragile, thinking about it really scares me
Tzuyu is 172cm and weighs 48kg
And thats the same weight as dahyun and chaeyoung who are 158-159cm
People, kindness and loving attitude is attractive.
I just saw this and I thought...
"F*ck that So called Beauty Standard in Kpop" They are all talented and beautiful
*girls talking about serious stuff*
people: *laugh*
jfc im so mad
It’s interesting how when there were only men in the room they would all laugh, but if there were women in the room they would look appalled that anyone would ever say something so rude to a girl-
me too they clearly don't understand mental health and eating disorders
I think it's because that kind of staff is not always said in reality shows, so in order not to make a bad atmosphere, they just laugh, so it could seem that they just make fun of that person and not in a bad way. As you can see in the video where Cl tells that the CEO would call them ugly, Sandara also laughed because if not it could be understood as if they complain about something.
