From disassembling your laptop to cleaning the fan and heatsink from dust and applying thermal paste, we've got you covered. Say goodbye to overheating and hello to improved performance!
    * Laptop Disassembly Guide:
    Disassembling your laptop may seem daunting, but I'll break it down into easy-to-follow steps. You'll learn how to remove the laptop's casing, locate and clean the heatsink and fans, and access to CPU for thermal paste replacement. By following this guide, you'll gain a deeper understanding of your laptop's internals and how to keep it running smoothly.
    * Fan Cleaning Techniques:
    Dust and debris can accumulate in your laptop's fans and heatsink over time, leading to reduced airflow and increased temperatures. I'll show you effective methods to clean your laptop using an antistatic brush and proper handling techniques. By keeping your cooling system clean, you'll prevent overheating and extend the lifespan of your laptop.
    * Thermal Paste Replacement:
    Thermal paste plays a crucial role in transferring heat from the laptop's CPU and GPU to the heatsink. However, over time, a thermal paste can dry out and lose its effectiveness. I'll guide you through the process of removing the old thermal paste and applying a fresh, high-quality one. This step is vital for optimal heat dissipation and temperature management. Don't let an overheating laptop slow you down! Watch this comprehensive guide and take control of your laptop's temperature. You could try opening up the computer again (if you haven’t fixed it yet) and finding the inputs for the speaker and mic, and unplug them, make sure the connections are not damaged, and plug them in again properly.

    too many steps to go wrong which is why several people in the comments have issues after trying this. I did it to an R1 model and it was ten times easier than this and much less to go wrong. Its a massive shame that they cant just use high quality paste in the first place

      Unfortun yes...and it's a lot of work. But worth it if your Alienware M17 R2 is getting too hot, which is a common issue with these particular laptops. I'll have to do mine eventually but for now I just decreased my CPU's max. output (while plugged-in) from 100% to 99% and set my power-mode to balanced. My temps went from 97 - 100 degrees to 75 - 80 degrees and I've seen absolut. no difference in performance especially while gaming even with my CPU now throttled at 2.50Ghz instead of it's usual 4.50Ghz. Works for me!

    • @pierinalopez3321
      @pierinalopez3321 Před rokem

      @@ronnied4385 Mine went up to 100 degrees while gaming, when I opened the device, battery was swollen, had to be removed. I've yet to do this tutorial but I started using a cheap laptop fan, and lowered graphics, now my temps are 65 - 75 degrees on average daily use.
      Some technician in my country told me my laptop had only a few months left, and didn't even bother to repaste...

    • @ronnied4385
      @ronnied4385 Před rokem +2

      @@pierinalopez3321 Yeah these particular models we have get way too hot. But I'm glad you found that solution. Just don't listen to 3rd party people who seam to think they know every inch and diode in your laptop and say it's going to die soon. I've had mine for 3 yrs and it's going just as strong as the day I purchased it. Far as your battery, you can easily order a new one and replace it. Very easy to uninstall old one and reinstall new one. Of course I don't recommend that you game on it unless it's plugged in...but that laptop will last you quite awhile now that you've lowered the temp. 👍
