- Your Path to United Airlines: bit.ly/UALPilotApplication ... I learned a LOT during my first 100 hours flying the Boeing 757/767. Consolidation is the last step of fleet training for airline pilots. Here's how it works + a recap of my first few trips on this amazing airplane. Thank you to the amazing crews that made my first few weeks flying for United Airlines absolutely incredible.
United is growing by hundreds of airplanes, and to fill all of those flight decks we're going to need a lot of pilots. The United Aviate Academy is the only flight training school run by a major carrier in the USA. It's designed to train thousands of pilots, and open the doors of aviation to people from all backgrounds. Simply put, being a pilot is for everyone. Diversifying the flight deck isn't just the right thing to do, it's the best way we can meet the world's demand for new pilots.

100 Hours flying for United!... But I don't want to experience these flights alone. What do you want to see behind the scenes of being a pilot at United?
A Day in the life of a pilot at United kind of vlog 🤩
We want to see the trips you get after consolidation! The most junior..
Far out, Swayne...congratulations...wish they'd let you put a static camera in the cockpit.
Had a family friend who was an aircraft mechanic with United. A look at the many craft trades needed to keep those 757/'67's in the air would be really interesting.
Would be great to see a video on the differences between the 75 and 76.
I used to watch you when you started your job in Hawaii, and that doesn't even feel that long ago. Crazy how you are flying the 767 at such a young age. You are motivational for me.
Thanks for watching all this time, Ben!
I have too it's crazy
Haha same.
@@SwayneMartinPilot Aloha Swayne would you do me a big favor could you review our Hawaii inspired apparel my mom created the design concepts we have many designs to choose from from sea life to mermaids and much more and different styles of apparel we live on the big island with our 9 rescue animals in ocean view can I get a email to send you the link and 10% of yearly proceeds will go to charities that help people and animals I'm a big aviation enthusiasts I watch all the air crash investigation episodes you really learn a lot and how every accident tragically have made flying safer
@@SwayneMartinPilot way to go to be at such a young age flying for United I wish you the very best always can't wait for you to fly the new Airbus a321 XLR that's a beauty of a plane we are moving from the Big Island to Conway South Carolina we are tired of doing 3 hours of driving every day commuting from home to work in Kona it's exhausting on my mom who drives over 18 hours plus a week
The production quality of this video is breathtakingly good. More power to you!
Thank you so much! These take immense time, so I'm happy to hear you liked it :)
Yes. It was hard to tell the stock footage from your own. Excellent quality.
Almost like united helped put it together to show pilots they’re process.
Blown away by all the hard amazing work behind the video should be millions of views. Keep up the amazing work 😊
Swayne…you do the editing yourself?
WOW, I started watching this channel when Swayne had just started flying for Mokelele airlines in Hawaii! Now he's flying Boeing 757's. He's living my dream!
I’m 50 years old and your journey has been SO inspiring to me, I retired from a 25 year business career, bought a Cessna 172 and I’ve logged 35 hours in hopes of doing my solo and checkride here soon. When I watch your videos, I’m so excited that I’m headed to a fast track school to get my training quicker. This… flying… it’s all I want to do. Thanks Swayne!

Hearing about these experiences from United pilots makes me so anxious to get there! Absoltely cannot wait!
Can't wait to have you soon!
@@SwayneMartinPilot Hope I can fly the 75 with ya!
Well, good luck to you - you will need it. It may look good now, but it will not last. The next crises will always come and stop you dead in your tracks. After 36 years as an airline pilot for 14 airlines - including four majors like Pan Am, I retired at United barely able to get off reserve on the most junior airplane and most junior base. (BTW, they totally ignored my retirement flight. They would not give me a choice of a trip and said if I wanted to have SOMEONE from the Chief Pilot office greet me, I would have to put in a request, and if someone was free at the time, they would send him out. Not like in the movies.) Everything depends on your luck and timing. You never get rewarded for your experience. And don't think this video is typical of your actual trips. I can't remember the last time ANYONE on a layover went out to dinner together. The Flight Attendants are all slam-clicks. Most of the time you don't even go to the same hotel. This video is like propaganda. I know you don't want to believe that, but you will see...
@@CockpitScenes I don’t like to hear that, I wanna be a pilot so bad.
@@AdventureswithaaronB Then go for it. Just know that how your career goes depends totally on luck. Right age, right time, right airline. I have been furloughed at least ten times, gone through almost as many airline bankruptcies, and the mergers of major airlines two times. In both mergers I got the short end of the stick. In fact, in one merger, the other pilot group tried to take away 100% of my seniority. You may be the lucky one with a normal good career...
This is great! I fly United a lot transatlantic on the 57 and 67 to the UK and Germany and France! I’m so happy my favorite CZcams pilot is flying for them! Congrats Swayne, you’ve earned this :)
Hopefully I’ll see you on one of our flights soon!
I like the 757 more then the 767 because I do not like long flights
This video was exactly what I needed. I needed motivation to help me realize why I started flight training in the first place. You have no idea, how much this video inspired me. Thank you! I would love to see more videos of your life as a pilot.
Rooting for you Dominique! So glad you enjoyed the video and hope to see you at UAL :)
Yay! 🎉✈️

@@CockpitScenes I'm not in the industry, but I agree, this video sounds like good recruitment.
757 and 767, wow! You’ve made the big time, congratulations!

You're career has grown leaps and bounds Swayne. It's like watching one of your favorite family members go from a AAA ball club all the way to the big show. You're an inspriation for a lot of aviators, young and old. It's proof that if you set a solid work ethic, and love what you do - you will succeed. Congrats on that 1st 100. Can't wait to experience your first 1,000.
You have every right to brag. You worked hard, made sacrifices and now get to enjoy the fruits of your labors. CONGRATS
And thanks for taking us along.
wow the grading on that drone footage is absolutely incredible…felt like a movie.
very proud of you Swayne to accomplish your 757 and 767 GREAT JOB!!! Best wishes and continued success
Well, I’ve been waiting for this video Swayne. 👍. It’s been fun watching your career develop toward your dream. Enjoy the 757/767. Great aircraft. 🙂
Congrats Swayne, I have been following your videos from day one. It truly amazing what you have accomplished now flying the big jets 757-767 hopefully one day you will get to fly the 787. Thank you to United Airlines for allowing you to post these wonderful aviation videos and I hope they continue to support you in sharing with us aviation fans of yours.
Congratulations Swayne! You’re big-time now!! Proud of you / happy for you! Thanks again for taking us along for this amazing journey! Keep Rising!
Swayne. I’m stunned by awe of your success! Congratulations on the 100 hours for piloting the 757 and 767! Now you’re beginning to see the world while doing something you enjoy so much! I am extremely happy for you! All I can do is continue to wish you my personal best always for a successful career and a “happy life”! Take Sam along sometime too! Again congratulations! Mark in Iowa.
What a great video, and an amazing career you have ahead of you! My grandfathers were both engineers for Boeing, and one of them was part of the 757 design team and loved that plane. I have loved United Airlines since I was 10 years old and got to meet Al Haynes after a flight, and have spent many happy hours flying on United ever since. So anytime I get to fly on a United 757, it is a slice of heaven for me. Perhaps I’ll have the pleasure of meeting you in the air someday. Congratulations on this truly fantastic achievement!! It’s a really special thing.
Thanks Keith! That’s so cool you worked on it
I have been following you for a number of years. I am so happy to see you doing so well, finally flying longhaul international as you dreamed.
United is lucky to have someone who has been so focused on and dedicated to his profession since before he could even drive a car.
So happy for you Swayne
Thank you so much for the Vlog Swayne! Absolutely amazing
Well done, Swayne! I first discovered you when you went to fly in Hawaii. What a long road, and you handled the twists and turns excellently.
All the best, and happy landings AND takeoffs.
You have got to be kidding...
Absolutely amazing to see the difference between flying regional and flying international. Epic videography and stoked for you to be on the mighty 767 :)
I have been following you for many years and way before your first pilot job in Hawaii. You really deserve this, and now you are reaping everything you planted with devotion, love and perseverance. I am very proud you are where you are today!!! 👏👏👏👏
Congratulations Swayne…well deserved! Your smile (and excitement) says it all!
That's so cool! Congratulations!! You seem very passionate so I'm sure you'll be a great captain. Wishing you the best of luck on your career!

What happened with the F22 video?
wonderful video!! and congratulations on how far you came as a pilot! hope to follow a similar path to you once im older :)
Hey, I’m subscribed to you!!!
Congratulations on the hard-earned and well deserved jump to the majors! I've watched your journey and it has been truly inspirational for many- including myself.
Wow!!! Congrats on ur 100 hrs. Thanks so much for sharing ur experience and layovers. Keep smiling 😃 ✈
Nice video Swayne! So I’m curious, how often will you be flying domestic vs international since the 75 and 76 do both? Like would you fly domestic for one week and then international the next week? Or do you just choose whatever flight you want? I’m curious about how all that works, thanks.
Let’s go new video good job swayne love all of your video!
Congratulations! I've been following your videos since your first company in Hawaii. An immense joy to accompany your trajectory of dedication and success. You are an example!
Your video quality is outstanding and stunning! Also, your content is amazing. You do such a great job of sharing all the aspects of training to future pilots and arm chair aviation enthusiasts! So glad you had such special trips on this journey!!
Amazing video! I want to be a pilot for the same reasons. Sure, I’ve “seen” the world through the internet, and read about cultures, but I thought to myself earlier this year, “I haven’t experienced anything.” Since then, I have been super excited about flying, and am hoping to go to Purdue, Auburn, or any other United Aviate school to get my degree. Discovered you earlier this week, and am loving your videos. I can’t wait to be where you are at!
I would only hire UND or Embry Riddle graduates, I would never hire anybody from ATP. Period!
@@avfan967 why is that? Just a question. I still don’t know everything I’ll need to know on how to get there.
Can't wait to see you do it! All of those are great schools. I went to UND and loved it!
@@Jack-1595 I'll tell you this, I just started my freshmen year at UND and so far, it's incredible. UND literally has the best aviation program in the country. Plus, if you go through UND, you only need 1,000 flight hours logged for the airlines to hire you instead of the traditional 1,500 hours, which is a huge benefit and time saver. I do highly recommend UND, plus a lot of us here are very familiar with Swayne's CZcams channel!
@@thecomedypilot5894 okay thanks you for the advice! Swaynes video did make it look pretty good, I’ll have to look into it more!
Hey Swayne, this is incredible. I have a question about long-haul flying. Generally, when you fly to Europe, how long do you stay before flying home? Can you stay for only 24 hours or even up to half a week before flying home? Great video!
Doesn’t matter because airline employees get nonrev and ZED benefits. Swayne knows what I’m talking about 😉.
I’ve been waiting for a new video for so long and so excited for you!
Every airline you’ve been with Absolutely Loves you!!! What a recruiting gem!!!
Good to see you back flying Swayne.
Also, Norway?! Certainly a far cry from hopping around the Midwest.
How many guitars have you broken
Fantastic to see you back....and doing so well Swayne! Another brilliant video!
That brought back memories....I retired from United on the 757/767. It's a very versatile fleet with many destination possibilities. Congratulations!
Swayne’s videos are hands down the best aviation videos on CZcams
Let’s goooooooo🎉
Congrats Swayne, this is awesome! Your hard work paid off.
great video, love your enthusiasm and positive outlook. stay that way and don't go changing.
Hey Swane, I have a question. How did you go about deciding what airline to fly for? Great, video! Thanks!
like every other job
What base they off like where do you want to live and the pay
Its been eye opening to see your rapid career progression. I'm jealous about it too. I've been trying to break into the industry, but my road has been much more rocky. Getting there, but at a much slower pace. Congratulations Swayne! I appreciate the motivation!
Love your editing as always, so fine !! And congratulations on your flying for United !!
Absolutely so happy for you, Swayne! You are an inspiration and someone young kids can really look up too!
Flying 757/767 at United gives you the most varied and interesting flying possible at a Major US airline. Congratulations! Thank you for sharing this part of your life with us!
Congratulations! So exciting to see your career take off! I’ve enjoyed your videos since you were flying in Hawaii!
Best wishes, blue sky’s and safe travels. United is so fortunate to have you in their fleet.

Incredible how long I've watched your videos from when you first started. An inspiration to many! 757 is by far my favorite aircraft to fly on, would love to see more of your trips.
Swayne I'm totally excited and stoked for you and your new journey with United. I was at UA for 23 years EWR based as Aircraft Maintenance, starting with Continental Airlines. Wish I were still there to meet you up in terminal C!! I'll keep watching your awesome videos and hopefully be able to meet you someday!! I'm truly inspired by your story, which drives me to finish up my ratings and pursue my dream of being in the flight deck. Thank you
Congrats Swayne for this achievement!
I love both the 757 and 767 as a passenger and hope you love them as a pilot as well!

As usual great work Swayne. Love the videos.
Thank you! Just starting my flight training and I’m a month away from my private check ride and videos like this definitely help me know I’m on the right path.
This is probably my favorite video you've made! Excellent work!

Congratulations Swayne! What an accomplishment!
Keep up the great work!! You are amazingly talented. Enjoyed watching this. Happy flying.
the 752 and the 763 are beautiful and iconic aircraft despite their troubled pasts. I am planning on going to flight school and getting a pilots license soon and this is a huge inspiration.
Good to see your progress. Well done!
