    Nice review! Please let us know how it integrates with Home Assistant.
    Thanks!

    Really good explanation 👍👍👍thanks

    Regarding the blind time - the sensor continues to detect motion during the blind time and resets the count whenever motion is detected - in your example, that means when the light is turned on and a person is detected, the off command is not issued until the blind period concludes after the LAST motion detected!

      True, I was about to make the same comment but you where ahead of me. Good review though.

      @csongorvarga  Před 3 lety

      No, it is more whatever happens within the blind time the sensor will not respond to that. Basically it puts the device to sleep. And once the blind time elapsed, it wakes up, check for motion and send an update.

      @@astrogerard Yes, I love that he shows users how to set brightness with the bulb. I am a little lazy and just use "toggle" and don't set the brightness here (I use night mode if I want dimming per time of day)

      @@csongorvarga The interface/wizard shows: "How long should the lights be on after last detected movement in the room"
      So when the the blindtime is set to 3 minutes and the movement stops at 2 minutes the total on-time is 5 minutes. In the meantime Wifi can sleep. I think (assuming the the design is similar to the door/window sensor) the STM is still running while the ESP8266 is in deep sleep.
      Maybe you can test this behavior. If it is really as you say there is a big change the light (or other device) switches off while walking away when only a little out of reach of the sensor. This is not how these sensors should work.
      And... thanks for all the great videos you make!

    • @douglasroberson
      @douglasroberson Před 3 lety +1

      @@csongorvarga the device does not go to sleep. It continues to detect motion - however, instead of performing an action, it resets the blind "count."
      To illustrate this, don't use the app. Instead, go to the sensor's IP address in a browser. You'll see a motion indicator at the top left. It will either say "no Data" or it will say "Motion! XXXs" where XXX equals the number of seconds left in the blind.
      Let the sensor count down, then make a motion within the range of the sensor and see what happens to the blind count.
      Tada!

    Did you manage to disable the LED light? I have two devices I have selected to disable the LEDs, it confirms the change but it doesn't do anything. LED still on and if I go back to the Setting it's back to being unticked (enabled) :/

      Did you figure this out? I also bought 2 that I’m happy with except for the blinking light which looks so tacky.

    Can you recommend a motion sensor that will work with google that is rated for outside. I would like to trigger smart switches to turn on multiple lights from multiple locations. Thanks for your great info!

    Any way to turn off the LED lights completely? It keeps flashing red when it detects something and it is so so annoying and ugly. There is 0 reason for it to give any light at all IMO.

      No, just a motion, temperature and light sensor.

    Can you get this to connect & work easily using Google Home ?

    • @csongorvarga
      @csongorvarga  Před 2 lety

      I did not try. But what would Google Home do with it. It is not a switch that you can operate with a voice command and Google Home does not support motion sensors.

    How did you add the Bulbs to the app? I get to this part and my Hue Bulbs do not show up.

    • @csongorvarga
      @csongorvarga  Před 3 lety +1

      I am not sure when you ay Hue bulb you mean Philips Hue? The Shelly app only works with Shelly products, you cannot mix and match other brands.

      @jeffhogancamp5379 Před 3 lety

      @@csongorvarga Yes I meant Phillips hue bulbs. Should be able to do it thru Homekit tho right? Or maybe SmartThings.

    • @csongorvarga
      @csongorvarga  Před 3 lety +1

      @@jeffhogancamp5379 I have not used any of those myself. But I am not aware how Shelly would integrate with those two on itself. But I assume that if it works, you need to set up the integration from SmartThings or Homekit, it is unlikely that other devices will every be available in Shelly.

    Tried to buy the product. What a nightmare. Site crashes, redacts the information I submit, and recycles and denies my efforts. Seems this device is OUT of Bulgaria, with no real local support (Las Vegas address, tried calling, tried emailing, no good). Seems like the Las Vegas contact is rich irony, dealing with them is a crapshoot!

    It's a pretty crap product. For a few reasons. Firmware is hardly ever released promptly to fix critical issues, product goes to sleep when not powered by battery (part of a firmware issue) which contributes to why the product can last that long on a battery - because half the time it doesn't work properly haha
